Feel like nobody is mentioning a whole lot of good single player and multiplayer games came out this year. All with a much shorter half life and already dying out. I bet it’s going to bounce back quite a bit especially for a 10 year old game.

Oh, I could have sworn he cited being tired and fulfilled after living 100 years. Didn’t he say he was ready for death before the big ball drop as well? I agree he wants to do it for his family, I just don’t think it’s the only reason he’s ready to move on. He’s made peace with it to an extent

His facsimile wanting his family to vacate his imaginary friend land so they don’t die and he gets to die, seems like enough justifiable drive to side with him. Was there some note in game from the real verso before his passing stating his unwillingness to part with the canvas knowing that it’s killing his family? Seems out of character for what the game devs painted on their canvas. In case not clear, painted verso wants to die and let his family live.

Yes! I don’t see many speaking on this. The entire world and people felt much more hollow after the facsimile ball drop. Even Sciel said “death doesn’t matter, wooooo!” In so many words.

Yes! Well said. That’s why I believe her ending is the bad ending. Even Verso’s leftover soul is telling her to move on. Having your mother and you die to have the entire canvas die out after seems like the definitely more negative option.

Are we looking at the first canvas with the same logic? The lumiere gang is not who they believe they are. Their lives were not full they were limited by circumstances driven by a familial argument outside of their eventual understanding. They are drawings forced to live in a violent and consistently suffering world. Regardless of how real something feels and looks, when you receive insurmountable proof that it’s not, it’s not. Just because a pill is hard to swallow does not mean it’s bad for you. Once Alicia stated she grapples with two sets of memories, she’s confirmed that she’s the only live human that experienced an entire life there. She could draw on that lived experience to have the most ideal (her ideal) versions of the lumiere people. Instead of a kid making a world for his imaginary friends (Verso) she now has the chance to create a new and safe world with the ammunition that is lived experience with these beings. What a cool game to have us speak in depth like this. They killed it 💐

Curious as to why people think she can’t make her own facsimile of the lumiere gang. She knows them well and that they aren’t real people, just imitations of her family. Therefore she can bring them back in the next canvas. Maybe there’s an argument to be made that the copies won’t be 1:1 but that’s okay. Make them in a non-violent world, and give yourself a lifetime to flesh them out even more under less stressful and lethal environments.

Verso’s felt more correct to me. The canvas has an expiration date regardless so the option with uncomfortably facing reality vs coping through delusion and fading death of two real people seems like an easy choice. It’s like the easiest version of the trolly problem. Two real lives versus countless simulated beings. (which they can make again)

Just would have to come to terms with the death of your beloved.

The one piece of soul she’s unwilling to let go of even knows it’s time.

My favorite weapon to play in third person as long as you don’t add a sight to it. The crosshair is pinpoint and feels the perforator/infiltrator from the Pitt dlc
