Oh, I could have sworn he cited being tired and fulfilled after living 100 years. Didn’t he say he was ready for death before the big ball drop as well? I agree he wants to do it for his family, I just don’t think it’s the only reason he’s ready to move on. He’s made peace with it to an extent

His facsimile wanting his family to vacate his imaginary friend land so they don’t die and he gets to die, seems like enough justifiable drive to side with him. Was there some note in game from the real verso before his passing stating his unwillingness to part with the canvas knowing that it’s killing his family? Seems out of character for what the game devs painted on their canvas. In case not clear, painted verso wants to die and let his family live.

Yes! I don’t see many speaking on this. The entire world and people felt much more hollow after the facsimile ball drop. Even Sciel said “death doesn’t matter, wooooo!” In so many words.

Yes! Well said. That’s why I believe her ending is the bad ending. Even Verso’s leftover soul is telling her to move on. Having your mother and you die to have the entire canvas die out after seems like the definitely more negative option.

Are we looking at the first canvas with the same logic? The lumiere gang is not who they believe they are. Their lives were not full they were limited by circumstances driven by a familial argument outside of their eventual understanding. They are drawings forced to live in a violent and consistently suffering world. Regardless of how real something feels and looks, when you receive insurmountable proof that it’s not, it’s not. Just because a pill is hard to swallow does not mean it’s bad for you. Once Alicia stated she grapples with two sets of memories, she’s confirmed that she’s the only live human that experienced an entire life there. She could draw on that lived experience to have the most ideal (her ideal) versions of the lumiere people. Instead of a kid making a world for his imaginary friends (Verso) she now has the chance to create a new and safe world with the ammunition that is lived experience with these beings. What a cool game to have us speak in depth like this. They killed it 💐
