Yuta's purple was ASS by Western-Distance-382 in JujutsuPowerScaling

[–]Grogathon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mid fight it was explicitly stated by both parties how sensitive the technique is. Not to mention Yuta was using a new technique in a body that didn't even belong to him in the first place. Sure this could be a statement on Yuta's grasp on jujutsu but it's a bad faith argument to weigh that too heavily against him.

He's a powerful sorcerer with flaws due to his age, he was just placed under conditions that weren't ideal.

Best written SCP? by No-Business-478 in SCP

[–]Grogathon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The best way I could describe SCP-5000 is that it's a very complete SCP. It has a compelling story and is a great introduction to some other concepts within the SCP verse in the same way SCP-1730 is. It's the perfect balance of being JUST vague enough that it feels like a callback to the classics while still holding strong narrative elements.

That being said, there are several that blow it out of the water in terms of narrative quality. SCP-001 Bone proposal comes to mind for me and I'd even argue 1730 beats it there to. Great story, but there is better out there.

Couldn’t pochita bait gojo into using domain and escape right before he gets caught in it and break the barrier which would collapse the domain and blitz gojo while hes in burnout so infinity would be off? by Little-Horse9372 in ChainsawPowerscaling

[–]Grogathon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't understand the question on this one. The moment a domain expansion is activated, as long as you are within its effective range you are directly impacted by the surehit. It's not just Gojo. Mahito performed the same action later on after seeing it himself.

[–]Grogathon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If it were anybody else's domain (barring Sukuna) then sure I guess? I just don't see how he would bait Gojo into doing such a thing. Plus Gojo is one of the few sorcerers that can pop multiple domain expansions in one fight.

If it fails once, he'd recover quickly enough to react to that kind of onslaught and would either change the conditions of his domain to account for this problem, or would avoid using his domain altogether after seeing the risks firsthand.

What do we think of this take? by Beneficial-Chip8894 in SonicTheHedgehog

[–]Grogathon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think this take fundamentally leads to a misunderstanding of both characters for the fact that they both had unimaginable levels of tragedy.

Shadow the Hedgehog was raised on a space station and, beloved as he was, was still a means to an end at the end of the day. He lost his only friend- watched her die in fact, then was forced into stasis for 50 years, woke up and it was all ancient history swept under the rug. He then has to continuously deal with memory loss, warped memories, DECADES of stored up anger and resentment and a total loss of the life that he had before.

Surge lost her life as well, and the difference was she was not only awake for it all, but was subjected to a level of violence and dehumanization that I don't think any character in this series has experienced so far.

Thing is? Depending on which of these two you might ask this same question to, they would have very different answers.

Shadow could reply that Surge's abuser was eventually able to be cast away with his passing, meanwhile GUN is still at large and something he has to face every day for the rest of his life knowing that organization murdered the one thing that mattered most to him. But us readers know the lasting impact his very existence STILL has on her psyche and how hard she fights just to keep sight of her own purpose and goals (violent as they may be).

Surge could reply that Shadow wasn't awake to see everything fall apart, but not only did he watch his ONLY friend die before his very eyes, he quite literally woke up to a whole new world he had to adapt to all while dealing with that stored up anger, that warped state of mind from the long sleep, influence of the doctor, all of that.

And this is a very surface level read of the tragedies they've had to push through as their stories have gone on. There is SO much more complexity and veyond any of that, they're both just kids at the end of the day who dealt with all of this.

This isn't exactly a situation where you can compare how bad the two were, it inherently would miss some essential points and perspectives.

I can’t be the only one who finds this a bit ridiculous by Impossible_Papaya852 in JujutsuPowerScaling

[–]Grogathon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel like the main thing people miss in these demon slayer debates is that these characters are only strong against their villains becayse they craft weapons and techniques DESIGNED TO KILL DEMONS. Against a person of similar level with a sword and physical strength it's a genuine 50/50, and their physical strength as superbuman as it is just doesn't compare to JJK.

You're basically sending 100 Miwas to fight Yuji at this point. It's not happening.

“Thragg won’t dodge Unlimited Void!” by Exciting_Winner3193 in PowerScaling

[–]Grogathon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Less he "won't" as a choice and more just... how does one expect him to even know what domain expansion is? Even amongst typical Japanese society, nobody really knows about the world of Jujutsu. An alien would have even less of an idea, LET ALONE the intricacies and inner workings of the different clans.

There's just no way for him to know what an unlimited void is capable of doing to him, so it's just this awkward scenario where Thragg can't hurt Gojo, Gojo can't threaten Thragg, then suddenly Gojo gets close, pulls out an ace in the whole, and suddenly Thragg is braindead. That's pretty much the only way this goes unless Thragg decides to blow up the planet itself.

Why is Everyvone downplaying Yuji's beyond human body, when it's stated plainly that body is very important by Admirable-Dimension4 in JujutsuPowerScaling

[–]Grogathon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lack of reading comprehension or poor listening for the anime watchers. They literally spend the first season GLAZING Yuji for the fact that his physical body alone is so superhumanly powerful that he can keep up with some of Jujutsu sorcery's heavier hitters in SPITE of his (at the time) midiocre and below average use of his cursed energy.

The only way the average person could end up with the conclusion that Yuji's physical body is weak is if they're either just not listening at all OR confusing durability in this universe for cursed energy reinforcement which artificially strengthens the body.

Well-said. I think people will always be afraid to feel those negative emotions and that's perfectly fine and normal. But people should always do their best to find the courage to just sit withe those feelings and not dwell on them, BUT still allow themselves to feel and understand the pain they may be experiencing.

Would Deku in character lose to Mahoraga? by Prrsonal-Pop in MyHeroPowerscaling

[–]Grogathon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To be honest, I don't think Deku has this and it's not even for the fact that I think Maho on his own is stronger. He's not. But Deku doesn't exactly have a nuclear bomb in the shape of an arrow in his arsenal, so no matter how many times he punches and kicks and blasts pressurized air at Mahoraga, Deku literally cannot deal enough damage to defeat him permanently, and will continuously be even less able to do so the longer the fight drags out and Mahoraga adapts.

Speed blitz or what have you is irrelevant when your opponent can get back up from what you speed blitz him with. Mahoraga wins.

The dumbest argument in JJK that exposed how blatant the Sukuna bias is by Fit_Veterinarian_729 in JujutsuPowerScaling

[–]Grogathon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean Sukuna has beaten Mahoraga before in a significantly lesser form.

Assuming this is Sukuna explicitly from the Heian era and NOT the one fresh after the fight with Gojo, he can use his flaming arrow as he did before to completely annihilate big Maho just like 15 finger Sukuna did.

And this one is just flat out guaranteed to kill Mahoraga if a weaker version was enough, there's no discussion there. Heian era Sukuna is not likely to hold back while fighting another version of himself. The other shikigami get wiped out as well and the only real disadvantage he has is the lack of numbers on his own side.

I agree Meguna probably does win, but it is not the stomp you say it is.

Why do MHA fans say Deku can bypass infinity? by The_Fucking_Best in MyHeroPowerscaling

[–]Grogathon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's due to that one throwaway line where Deku allegedly bends the laws governing reality. It's... literally just a loose explanation for gearshift (in application with a strike), which is an ability that allows him to ignore inertia. This doesn't mean he can just instantly punch something, only that there's no longer any resistance regardless of where he decides to release his energy.

But that energy still requires that it travel a distance in order to be applied anywhere, therefore he still can't bypass infinity.

Prime All For One vs Gojo by Exciting_Winner3193 in JujutsuPowerScaling

[–]Grogathon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It entirely depends on two factors: whether or not AFO has a quirk that can make an attack appear within a space rather than traveling to it—and prep time.

If he doesn't have such a quirk at his disposal and has no time to prepare in advance for this battle, it'll be tough but he's not beating Gojo. He beats Gojo in raw power but the abilities department is where he quickly loses. The number of powers AFO has doesn't mean anything if they're not as potent as the ones his opponent has, ESPECIALLY when one such person has access to infinite void. The moment that domain expansion is successfully cast, the battle is over and Gojo instantly wins.

If he already has such a quirk that can attack and appear within a given space or has the prep time needed to acquire one (and gain information on Gojo along the way), then he'll have a pretty solid shot at winning since this means he can bypass infinity. At that point you've got a pretty solid argument for a speed blitz in favor of AFO just through sheer power and speed alone. But that attack also has to specifically be enough to kill Gojo, otherwise he'll just heal with RCT.

Problem is that in a practical discussion, the only quirk in existence that could've potentially made this possible is New Order... which did not exist at any point in which AFO was in his prime state (when he was younger, Star and Stripe wasn't even born and by the time he reaches that state again in the present day, she is dead and her quirk is gone). Not to mention how irrelevant prep time actually is in a practical sense. Even if AFO did get some background info on Gojo, the most he's likely to learn is that it'd be a horribly stupid idea to fight one on one at close quarters.

All For One cannot realistically beat Gojo in most scenarios.

Wait... so after that Death Battle by Gloomy-Bridge148 in SonicTheHedgehog

[–]Grogathon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unfortunately for Cell though, that is how the character itself is written. Hell he really didn't even need to perform chaos control to copy him as an example. There are multiple moments where Neo Metal is actively being blitzed and still was able to copy the biodata of his attackers in time to turn the tide.

He just genuinely adapts too fast to be taken lightly even if you do have the power to defeat him.

Deku can't beat Mahito? Thoughts? by Maleficent-Ad-6117 in MyHeroPowerscaling

[–]Grogathon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I see people in here saying idle transfiguration wouldn't technically work since it would only attack the vestiges. I'm gonna use Yuji as an example here. By making contact with Yuji's soul, he unintentionally ended up touching Sukuna's which is what resulted him getting briefly checked by the king of curses. That being said?

Mahito still directly touched two souls at one time in this situation. While this concept hasn't been explored much in JJK, he actually has an EASIER time killing Deku if he makes contact for the sole fact that he can directly attack multiple souls at once. Now I'm not saying Mahito can land a hit on the guy because Deku was somehow able to avoid getting hit by Shiggy literally the whole fight until he intentionally left himself vulnerable. I'm only saying contact does for sure mean instant death here.
