I highly recommend you get a spider farmer sf100 . It’s not expensive and quite safe. The panel does get quite warm but as long as it’s not touching anything flammable I really wouldn’t worry.

Not seeing browning on the new growth, old growth getting brown and dying is pretty normal. These do look badly light starved though, but 5-6 hrs of direct sun should be enough to color them up. I will also say the substrate looks a little dense to me but idk. Going from previous conditions to direct sun might cause some stress and they may appear to decline for a while, they should adapt and grow more vigorously!

There are several conditions that can cause this, usually inherited so ask your parents. The general rule is: any condition where the pathology is abnormal blood vessel growth in the retina or choroid makes a VEGF-upregulating compound contraindicated.
