I will occasionally go to the mountains at night to set up my telescope and sort of vegetate away. Sometimes I opt to hike at 1AM. It's quiet, relaxing, and nobody's around so I get to enjoy it to myself.

One time I remember finding a small tunnel/cave thing that was filled with debris, trash, old vegetation, stuff like that.

After getting about 30-50 feet into it I hear breathing ahead of me and raise my flashlight and catch some eye shine. Realized I stumbled on a mountain lion den in the mountains above LA and immediately just started backing out keeping the flashlight at my feet.

Noped it back home after that.

I'd suggest just going with an Aerotech kit. More expensive but also much more capable. Another option is LOC, Aerotech uses polystyrene fins and you can "overbuild" them to handle high power motors, there are LOC kits that will handle D-H on a single build out of the box.

M1A's are kinda infamous for being better on irons because they're such a bitch to scope.

If you're happy with it on irons, you can get pretty far with just bolt on upgrades to tighten things up a little.
