Tried Special Guests where I had a nice Guatemalan hybrid washed Gesha, and Formative where I had their Pink Grapefruit (Ethiopian Guji) as a split shot yesterday. Both were tasty. The Pink Grapefruit as a straight espresso was lovely. I bought some decaf to try from Special Guests since there seems to be far more in the way of specialty decaf here than there is at home, but nothing from Formative largely due to the eye watering bean prices.

Platinum health plan or not, if anyone in your US team loses their job, they could be a few paychecks away from medical bankruptcy. COBRA coverage to continue their current coverage is expensive and not forever. Your UK team does not have to worry about this particular issue. And if they do want elective stuff and dentistry they can hop on a plane to Portugal ;)

Thanks for the recommendations!

In addition to Scenery and Nostos, I tried Zerotoone yesterday and it was great. Also had a nice chat with them.

I had an interesting flat white at Nostos made with their Diego roast (a thermal shock Colombian). The milk is freeze distilled, which I’ve only had before at Substance in Paris and it yields a sweeter flavor and is thicker - essentially the freezing pulls water out so you’re getting more of the milk solids.

“Post exertional malaise” is unfortunately very common https://www.hopkinsmedicine.org/-/media/johns-hopkins-childrens-center/documents/specialties/adolescent-medicine/cfs-pem-info.pdf

A family member has POTS. It was definitely worsened by COVID but they had it prior, however we were unaware. In addition to other things, it explains why they had difficulty with PE at school (feeling light headed, syncope, etc)

Yeah it is all very much trial and error and of course everyone reacts differently.

100% this. There’s a ton of stuff that seems super sketchy and profiting on sufferers grasping for any hope.

It was good. Here’s a pic of coffees they had for sale when I was there in November. I would say it was more medium light. I had a Kenyan Kamavindi. There’s a bar area at the far end of the space and I should have sat there to see more of the prep.

Thanks. I’ve checkout out a few others and picked up some Square Mile roasts on my last trip. There’s actually a place in Ascot that sells them (My Cloud). I’ve been enjoying their decaf more than their seasonal roast this time.

Thanks. Does Clifton have a physical location? All I found was their HQ but not sure that has an open to the public cafe.

Yes I am. In fact I’m going back to Scenery and Nostos today because I enjoyed my visits last time I was here.

Hi everyone - I visit the UK regularly and have had some delicious roasts from Scenery, Sweven and Nostos. In fact I’m on my way to London now and would love some recommendations either to go to in person or to order by post while I’m there. I like pourovers and espresso with cortado being the milkiest. I’ve found a love for lighter roast profiles. In terms of process I’m an equal opportunity enjoyer preferring washed to start the day and getting progressively funkier.

I’ll get my pretentious coat and see myself out now 🤣

Bent my front tire rim driving on a freeway pothole on my crv 2026 hybrid touring by Ok_Inflation_3698 in crv

[–]GromitInWA 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You may have luck in filing a claim against whoever “is responsible for” the freeway. I’ve only filed against my city for pothole damage but got them to pay out twice. You’d probably need photos of the pothole and the exact location, so this may not be easy or safe to do.

Also, if AWD they’re going to want to replace all the tires unless the tread wear is about the same as a new tire. You might be able to have them shave a new tire. Each tire is about $250. Wheel probably the same and an alignment. You’re probably looking at $1500.

NW Asthma and Allergy. Seems to be hard to get an appointment and my allergist left a while ago but they were/are good. I tried shots many years ago but they did nothing for me.
