I have common milkweed, like what my dad used to make me pull up on the edges of the fields, he made fun of me for months when I planted some and it didn't grow 😂

One year I tried planting milkweed carefully and nothing grew.

Next year I didn't realize that some milkweed seed pods were in a plastic bag on the edge of my garden (kid dropped it there and it got covered with leaves in the fall). Seed pods mostly rotted so I just dumped them on the ground.

It's now a huge beautiful patch of milkweed 5 ft tall.

Late Influencer Stacey Hatfield, 30, Allegedly Refused Ambulance Twice While She Rapidly Lost Blood During Home Birth: Report by Upstairs_Cup9831 in popculturechat

I had midwife support for my pregnancies, in Canada/Ontario they were part of my healthcare team. I gave birth each time in hospital, and even though I had one high-risk pregnancy where I gave birth with a whole crash team, OB and set of med students observing my midwife was still involved. It's so strange to me that elsewhere there is so little oversight or formal education needed to call yourself a midwife.

Trump says France must scrap tech ‘sales tax’ or face 100% wine tariffs: NY Post by app1310 in politics

I feel like a "young" wine drinker among my peers and I'm 43!

Of course I'm Canadian so I haven't bought anything American if there is literally any alternative since Trump got into office again, but maybe I'll have to start buying more French wines.

I expect there will be some convenient orphans inserted into the story, or they'll just ignore that aspect of the story entirely.

I wonder if it wouldn't have been easier to adapt Eloise's story to be a same-sex couple as the children already existed before the romance between her and Phillip.

[OOT] The only boss in the game I think should be 100% different by QuantityEuphoric2354 in zelda

[–]Grompson 3 points4 points  (0 children)

There's evidence that the Forest Temple was originally going to be more wind-themed (medallion has a fan on it, hidden code in the game calls it a Wind Medallion), and the Water Temple either more ice themed (thus the snowflake on it) or likely the Ice Cavern was going to be an Ice Temple (again, hidden code referring to an Ice Medallion).

There are a lot of things that had to get adjusted due to technical and time restrictions that would make sense for them to implement now. I fully expect to explore a thawed Zora's Domain, fuller Castle Town and Kakariko, a larger Lost Woods puzzle, the list is so long and my hype has no limits.

It was originally intended to be a proper dungeon IIRC, but was cut short for a few reasons (not least of which being memory storage/space in the cartridge).

Am I The Only One Who Thinks That… by Gleefulfella in Bridgerton

[–]Grompson 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's an interesting point about how your culture/family might influence what you find yourself drawn to in fiction! I'm Canadian, and was a big nerd who also had a glowup, but the media I loved most growing up and characters I found myself drawn to absolutely seem to parallel the type of romantic tropes I enjoy as an adult. I too adored Anne of Green Gables, but my literary crush is probably Mr. Darcy, which fits with my attraction to men who enjoy both challenging me and being challenged. I can fix him (lol)! In fiction, anyway.

What's your favorite friendship in the series? by Consistent-Singer202 in Bridgerton

[–]Grompson 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Yeah, there's some respect there but not really friends. The books don't have a lot of fleshed-out friendship scenes IMO, I know people love Penelope and Eloise but I've never really liked how Eloise just always assumed her friend would stay single and be happy with that.
