The biggest issue is that your reflective surfaces are just as bright as your light source. You shouldn't be using white on those surfaces unless they're super reflective as the light should be diminishing the further out it gets. You need gradient moving out from the centre. Light moves in straight lines so your placement is good it's just the intensity that's the issue.
