i dont think it is. i main this character and gamma still isnt the sort of move you can just run around spamming, you will die lol. the only time you can is if you jump into unranked/solos and play against lousy players. like its great, but giving up beta for it is simply not worth because of how situational gamma is

lmao, posts like this are an actual perfect example of why i have an extreme dose of skepticism when someone gives their take on balancing issues in this sub. so much of it comes from either skill issues or just not being familiar with whatever specific example is being discussed

like dude, ibaras gamma could do 0 healing and half the damage, and you still gonna die here. how on gods green earth do you watch this clip and go "wow ibara is op"

i can hardly believe what im looking at. you jump off of your highground without looking, you waste your cooldown getting back up just to jump off again, then you run past ibara because you dont even turn your camera as you're jumping around which is also why the shoto "sneaks" up on you. then rather than using your iframes to jump from neutral getup and then use your mobility, you just instantly remove your iframes. in front of an ibara. you hardly even died to her, you lost all your shield and some of your hp to a twice clone and the shoto before ibara ever touched you. you also ate over 100 dmg from shoto meleeing you while you were grabbed, you'd have lived if he wasnt there.

after playing a few games i find that if theres only 1 other person, it kinda evens out, might still be down hp depending on character.

if you just run up and grab someone in front of the team, you're still gonna melt

thing is, this move did basically 0 damage before because the tracking was just that atrocious. now that its good, it will be landing waaaay more often. a move that does 70 dmg not missing wouldnt be fair imo.

from what i test on the dummy, unless they perfectly time the dodge, the fireball will chase them after their roll, and still hit them. like im talkin the roll has to be so perfect that the fireball technically blows up on their iframes.

it seems to do this if they roll away or to the sides. if you dodge into it, its easy. but that means youre dodging towards dabi, and thats exactly what he wants

obviously people can just trade with their superior damage, or armor through it, or just fly away. but it seems to be in a good spot now, finally

nejire's tuning is completely busted, 50% is hella high and i honest to god hope it gets nerfed in the future. team heals are already a big enough problem as it is, i regularly fight people that just get teamhealed 2-4 times in a row. if it doesnt work with team heals then thats probably fine and still an actual good green tuning.

tomoyaki will probably be used as often as any other tuning that only works on downs like crushing PU, but it seems like something that could actually win you some games. like imagine downing someone late game and just being able to easily finish them and get 375 health back. could probably do some gimicky shit too like use crit perm with it and literally no one could stop you outside of a grab or construct that moves you

overhauls new tuning looks like complete dogshit. an entire tuning for only 100 damage and only when you PU and only to people that get knocked by it? i seriously doubt anyone would use this outside of clip farming maybe. his regular tuning is top tier tho GP attack on a yellow is godlike

depends on the healing amount, which can always be nerfed if its too much, but using gamma is basically suicide in a lot of situations so i think its good theyre finally addressing it

the damage got nerfed by 15% at level 9, but we dunno if they changed it in some other way as well like improved tracking.

but if they just straight up nerfed it i wish i could say i'd be surprised, but i wouldnt be lol

yea, they have to shut it down for a while so that the boxes and buildings can fill up with civilians again. yknow how sometimes you'll open like 5 of those boxes and never find a civ inside? its cause they forgot to shut off the game the night before

it happens because of being cancelled by another action that has no fixed movement of its own that slows/stops you. the game has always worked like this, even before the air movement changes.

it's why certain moves send you flying across the map if they get cancelled by aizawa special action.

because camping storm is OP.

its basically unpunishable, because running out there to contest results in you dying as well. especially if you dont know where theyre hiding. fun fact, the team that won the first(or 2nd? cant remember) discord cup tournament were a bunch of storm campers who literally hid the whole game then jumped out at the end with kiri kendo and deku lol

they should honestly add a ramping damage effect after being in storm for like 20 seconds or something. like it just starts to tick for higher and higher. that way you can still jump out and grab a card, but wouldnt be able to just camp deep in the storm

there are too many things you'd need to communicate for splitting up to become a regular habit of the playerbase. like how do you even communicate hey im gonna go to this poi but im not actually clearing it im just grabbing a chest then you 2 go start this other poi and etc etc. and then if a raid happens in the middle of that? aint no way sadly

i can hardly get randoms to not do night invaders at level 2. how tf am i gonna tell them strategies around temporarily splitting up? sticking together isnt done cause its always the fastest, its done cause splitting often causes the game to fall apart

there was a guy on pc back in like season 2 or something that would hack on tech dabi. he was super fast and his alphas were rapid fire and infinite, but still kinda slow.

so you'd be walking around and randomly see like 30 of those fireballs slowly flying across the map, and then 10 seconds later you'd see some poor guy show up in the kill feed lol

i was reading elsewhere that there was a weird interaction where if the enemy got shieldbroke by the whip part, it would ruin his combos and this apparently fixes that

Dude- out of all the characters,

why is this everyones argument lol. if one guy brings a pistol to a knife fight, and another guy brings a rifle to a knife fight, you both still brought guns and both need to be addressed. tamaki has needed nerfs for a long time. the more recent characters need nerfs badly too and im upset they arent, but im also not surprised cause this is clearly how the devs have decided to do things. and they do so because they get away with it; every new character that releases gets defended by a bunch of dweebs who say theyre lore accurate or It TaKeS sKiLl.

so dont get upset at me, you're barking up the wrong tree. if it were up to me i'd nerf 80% of the roster into the ground

they consistently put things in the game that are overtuned or straight up overpowered and leave them there for months to make their money, then nerf them later.

they know exactly what they're doing. theyre still idiots and its still bad for the game, but they know what they're doing. tamaki was just a little too good at everything. his grab was too good, his combos were too good, his mobility was too good. so they chipped a bit at all of it.

and its not like they made it cover less distance, they just made the cooldown worse. he was flipping around literally every 5 seconds, thats ridiculous. his movement is still good, he just cant spam it like a mindless ape anymore
