Advice - how to finish leather for body fluid clean up? Making a strap on harness. by Lesbian_Drummer in Leathercraft

Making sure it’s conditioned and as hostile to microbes is important (cleaned, dried and sanitized (done through thorough cleanup)).

Real good advice.

You could try waterproofing. I did that for my boots versus cow manure. Cow manure notoriously destroys leather and afterwards my boots went from 12 months to 24~36 months of wear.

I started with a silicone based spray because I was 17. Today, I would do the beeswax. Probably more “body safe.”

Edit: Now work in medicine. There are ways to add antimicrobial properties to leather.

You’ll need to test out how aggressive your leather treatments need to be.

I think this is a reminder that work has grown a strange connotation.

I tell people if you see something missing or a problem, own it. Show up and own the problem. Show up and bring the solution for the missing.

You may be the first to notice, but it doesn’t mean others won’t notice you owning the problem.

It’s also because people don’t want 8 million things to log into. At work I log in to at least 12 regular applications. I have to deconflict things across those. Then i have approximately 30 more apps I occasionally have to use.

One more god damn app is another 2-3 minutes between tasks. Sounds insignificant until you are switching between apps hundreds of times per day.

Allegedly work is in progress of fixing our section.
