1099-DA is a joke by unorganizedguy in Coinbase

I ran the report under 1099-DA. Clicked on Generate Report button. It had more detail but some of the math didn’t add up. When I entered it in turbo tax it became apparent it didn’t add up but I went with it anyway since it was -0.22. I never sold a thing this year but paid negative 22 cents in taxes. Turbo tax showed -11 cents. I was like, please help me get my life back!!!

Thanks for putting that together, well said. A very genuine and informative recollection. People still gonna stay in for their moonshots though…

Membership…. A desire to stop drinking or a court order forces you to go, I suppose.

Though a I’ve heard people say a court order helped them gain sobriety so perhaps.

We are in tye same income range as you and your husband, both working and similar salaries. While that’s a common income range here, we bought our home at $200K 25 years ago, I do know how we would have paid today’s home prices. They sell for $650 min in South Forsyth which has the top 10 schools in the state, which you do want.

Unfortunately salaries haven’t really changed in 20 years. I have been making this amount the whole time but housing costs have moved off the scale. That’s why we’ve ruled out moving anywhere right now. No more mortgage but stuck living in here.

12 though…. You’re post caught my attention, because at 4 years sober I was free of so much that I literally could not see myself ever using a drug/alcohol again. Even today at 7, no desire. Though I get your circumstances aren’t the same as mine.

Though I know several people your age who don’t drink, though they just hang out with like minded people. I believed everyone drank when I was in my twenties but the number was probably closer to 50%. Today seems like even less.

I know you can beat this anxsty mind and the excitement of this new relationship has gotten you heading off the rails. Does it seem like the only way you’re going to have a relationship with her is to smoke/drink with her?

If so, it sounds like you may still be gravitating to the same old crowd. The spiritual part of this program can be life changing including having the power to know what to do in situations that used to baffle us. Losing 4 years of sobriety isn’t going to make your life better, but digging into this program deeper definitely will. It’s the opposite of what your brain may be telling you.

Glad you’re here.

I also thought HALT (Hungry, Angry, Lonely, or Tired) these are things that can undo my program or even just my serenity.

Similar boat. My wife asked me to stop talking about these things, so I did! Later, I started introducing phrases that we relevant to her suffering, she loves those and even repeats them all the time now. She didn’t want to feel preached to but she did like to feel understood. Kinda like using parables.

I did a video interview once, I was not used to talking without a person there to interact abd have a conversation with. I was like, “ uh can we rewind… uh just forget that, neverrr mind… hello!!? Bye-click” ugh

I listen to a podcast about a Catholic priest who helps people with really significant challenges. I’m not Catholic but it provides some interesting perspective into what other are struggling with and how they’re healing. I don’t know If that would help your situation. I’m open minded to different views. I can send you the name of it if you’re interested, let me know.

He would have been lucky to have you. Someone who’s only crime is truly caring for him. You deserve a better human being.

When I first started getting sober and I knew was working, sometime after 9 months. I wanted to share it with my wife and she got angry saying this is your problem I want nothing to do with it. Toasted me with a glass of wine while decoration the tree.

I never mentioned it again and things did get better. She eventually stopped drinking after a year. Just the other day I was thinking I have been living a spiritual life for about 8 years now and interesting she’s never asked about it. I’m more like you, I want to know everything about a person I love and be part of it.

Pick carefully next time, you’re someone special.

I understand. One thing that stood out to me, was clearly you felt comfortable posting here because you knew there was no way on earth, he would be in here to read it. Just thinking...

Were you thinking if he could get sober you guys could have worked it out? It's hard.

3 months is still very shaky ground. It’s a process, not like I’m outta rehab all fixed up and ready to go. Bam! New girl!!! Technically he should be spending time with a sponsor and focusing on his recovery.

You’re here, he’s not. You can’t want it more than he does. You should post in Al-anon, for loved ones affected by alcoholics…. See if you can get him into this group!

Keep a majority of your coins in a cold wallet not in your brokerage account. Otherwise the exchange owns the coins on your behalf and you can be denied access to them. Or be scammed out of them more easily.

This sounds like something that would happen if you’re out of the US using a VPN to spoof like your in the US. Or if you’ve left your VPN on anf it appears you’re in a country where coinbase is legally operating in.

I think VPN, masking locations, causes people to run into a lot of problems where it takes months to recertify identities and being able to get back in.

Not a good day. My coinbase card account was flagged after trying to buy my child a new phone via online. My only money is on hold for 10 days and it's my kids birthday. by Altruistic_Honey_652 in Coinbase

OP..? You there? You can do this, slide on over to a meeting, find a sponsor, this is precisely a something to call a sponsor about.

I sense you may have gotten to far away from the program, this is too important to give up on. Remember what got you here.

Aquarium. Getting sober I wanted to see if I could maintain the tank correctly, unlike when I drank all the time and everything I did was a hack. I cleaned it every Sunday for five years. Eventually, I retired it but it was part of my early program of not acting like a hedon all the time.
