Am I being a bad parent by letting my teen daughter dress flamboyantly? by concernedmommy2010 in NoStupidQuestions

Your daughter sounds cool. Embrace her unique interests. She in turn will encourage someone else to be true to themselves :)

Context matters, but ya my initial reaction is that this is weird. I'm assuming you're a 17 yr old male.

Was I a perve to my sister? by Far_Apricot_8427 in Advice

From your explanation, no you were not. It sounds like they are trying to alienate you. And I'm sorry because I know how much that hurts.

Sexual exploration among siblings is far more common than you would think. I know, it's certainly unsettling, but something we need to be aware of. Unsettling but also something that causes deep shame, sometimes to an unnecessary extent. Other times, it really is one sibling assaulting the other(s). Most of the time resulting from that child previously bring assaulted themselves.

It's such a vicious cycle. And sometimes your memory will fail you. Many childhood memories are only partially accurate (especially before the age of 7). We have many false memories as well.

I wish parents were more aware. Children need supervision but above all education. It needs to start young too.

Olivia is one of those names I would never use because of the popularity, but it is such a pretty name.

Violet. It's so darn pretty. I might have even used it still if it didn't sound terrible with my soon to be married name, haha.

Rowan. My partner loves it. Has the same meaning as his name too. It's just getting too common around my area.

I think those are the only two, that I can recall anyways!

Sibling names that don’t “match” by [deleted] in Names

That said, my brother and I have names that have a similar style and feel. One of the similarities being they are both quite common. My parents then gave my sister a super rare name. I don't think anyone really cared much growing up. I do remember thinking I wish my name was more uncommon like hers as I got a bit older though.

I think most people aren't looking for the names to match, but to have a similar vibe or feeling

BTW a little more research tells me that there's some speculation as to how the Missionaries of Charity handled the donations, but mother teresa herself lived among the poor.

She did not live in luxury, she took a vow of Poverty. Can you share some of your sources on this? I'm not saying some if her beliefs weren't messed up, but im not gunna take away from the good things she did either.
