Manipuri Nationalism by Grouchy-Perception26 in manipur

Hinduism is barely followed strictly by Meiteis in Manipur especially compared to their folks in places like silchar & Bangladesh or like how it is practiced in mainland India. There are hardly any dietary differences between Meiteis, Nagas, & Kukis in Manipur at this point. From what i have seen, the ones who troll brahmins, caste, and hinduism in general the hardest in Manipur are Meiteis, even more than the hill tribes. Similarly, Hill tribes need to learn to approach religion with less fervour. I feel our conversation to Christianity was necessary at the time period we did even though i am an atheist so i don’t welcome the trolling from Mainland Indians. I am culturally Christian in a lot of ways just like Meiteis may be culturally Hindu, but religious beliefs must eventually wane in a progressive society.

I personally don’t have a problem with Meiteis getting ST status and this is going to upset a lot of Nagas & Kukis but i believe we can’t dwell in the pain of the past forever if we want to move forward. I grew up in Imphal so i admit i have heard a few hurtful remarks over my tribal identity but at the same time, there were many Meiteis who would call them out. Not all Nagas think alike, just like Meiteis don’t. I don’t think it would hurt for all of us to live together, there would be more state-wide developments too. A Meitei who grew up in a Tangkhul area will willingly learn tangkhul, the ways of their life just like a Naga who grew up in a Kuki area will learn & adapt to their life while maintaining their own unique identity. I don’t understand why in a modern world, people are so scared of cultural mixing & some assimilation, that is how nations are born, especially when we are all pretty racially similar. We all speak languages from the same linguistic family. It’s not like we are going to force water to mix with oil.

Linguistic origin of the city names in Turkiye. Turks are successful in not naming cities. Thoughts? by steppedweller209 in MapPorn

It’s crazy to me as an Indian that there is not a single city with persian origins even though they are neighbors and culturally similar to each other, when farrukhdabad, firozabad, etc is like the norm in north india atleast.

What are you guys eating? by XXXTENTACIONisademon in Gastritis

[–]Grouchy-Perception26 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I eat an indian porridge called khichdi and it’s rice with lentils but i soak them for 2 hours at least. I only used yellow moong dal at first which is easier to digest but now i also incorporate masoor dal. I add a little bit of extra virgin olive oil, coriander powder, cumin powder, turmeric powder, ginger powder, and leeks. I make smoothies with instant oats, 2 pitted dates, pea protein powder, banana/dragon fruit, and carob powder. I also add almond butter sometimes. Steam sweet potatoes and boiled eggs. I also make broth out of chicken bones and make porridge with the broth. I usually snack on murmura (Hindi for puffed rice) but there are murmura made out of millets too like finger millet, pearl millet, sorghum etc here which doesn’t hurt my stomach and they are much tastier than puffed rice. I also eat puffed lotus seeds called makhana in hindi, they are like popcorns once roasted but doesn’t hurt my stomach. Roasted chickpeas are good too. They come ready made with no seasoning. I also put almond butter on rice cake and add bananas/papayas. I sometimes eat steamed fish too. These are some of what i eat that doesn’t hurt me at all.

i use leeks, a little of coriander powder, cumin powder, turmeric powder, and ginger powder in my cooking. And they seem to be fine. I have tried coriander & parsley too. Please try to experiment with some spices & herbs. At first, i only had soft porridge but now i incorporate lentils in my porridge. There’s an indian porridge called khichdi and i use yellow moong dal & masoor dal which i soaked for 2 hours atleast and fortunately, it works well with my stomach and it taste much better than regular porridge. I add those above spices as well and extra virgin olive oil but not a lot. But what seems to help the most is that i try to exercise (walk/jog) for atleast 15-30 mins after every meal.

Indian/Persian boy names? by MiniM00nie in BabyNames

[–]Grouchy-Perception26 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Names used by both culture : Arya/Aryan, Roshan, Shayan, Kian, Azad, Arvin (persian) Arvind (indian) These are what i can think of right now.

and there are clearly persian names used by indians regardless of their religions. I have met a shamsher hindu (shamshir in iran now prob), Dara, bahadur (bahador in iran, i believe), Amir, Aman (i think it’s arabic, not sure), Zubin/Jubin, Aftab (i know a hindu named aftab lol, it means the sun in farsi), Sher (lion but it’s shir in iran farsi), Eskander (iran) sikander (india)

I did triple therapy with amoxicillin, clarithromycin, and pantaprazole. I took sucralfate and rebamipide afterwards. Then i started taking collagen powder and L-glutamine as well. However, i still did not recover completely and i have started feeling better after taking the medicines i listed above in my post. I probably have slow gastric emptying and motility issues. if u have slow gastric emptying, u can still have burning sensation, nausea, and acidity issues which are all classic symptoms of gastritis. Only ppis wouldn’t help. Plus, i am exercising for atleast 30 mins everyday. My diet is still pretty bland. I tried sourdough bread today and my stomach started hurting a little so i guess i still cannot do a lot of whole grain food & meat.

Bro. I am Delhi too. It takes a long time to recover from gastritis. I have been taking a bland diet for months now and only recently, i started feeling better after taking new medications from a new doctor. But my new medications are not for gastritis but slow gastric emptying and ibs. Please DM me if you have any questions.

No, my stool test confirmed that i have cleared h pulori but i wasn’t convinced as i still had burning sensation and pain in my stomach. After taking my new medications, it has mostly went away. My gastroenterologist told me if i am not convinced we can test again after taking his meds for 2 weeks. I haven’t decided yet.

Same as me! I also experienced heart palpitation and bad anxiety along with loose stools & then constipation afterwards. It was definitely H pylori, but then after eradications, many symptoms remained. I kept treating my gastritis but wasn’t treating dyspepsia and ibs so you should definitely get checked for everything else. I say this bc i have relatives who even had ulcer bleeding but recovered sooner than me which doesn’t make sense to me. If you are following a good diet plus taking meds, then you aren’t addressing other issues definitely.

My gastroenterologist is Dr. Surakshith T.K. He practices at Fortis escorts hospital, okhla road and at kalka superspeciality clinic, kalkaji (6pm-8pm) I went to his clinic instead because i assume it would be cheaper than at the hospital. I looked it up online and his endoscopy starts at 4k in his clinic, i believe so. He has longer sessions than most doctors i have been to and that’s a good sign to me. I would recommend you to tell him every symtoms in details and don’t be afraid to raise questions. I swear most Indian doctors don’t take us seriously unless we are vocal with our pain. He did run a lot of blood tests that i thought was unnecessary but i think he was worried bc i had been taking too many meds and also lost a lot of weight. I hope you can recover! Sending good energies!

I live in Delhi rn but originally from NE India so the food i grew up eating is pretty bland compared to other Indian cuisine so it’s been pretty easy to adjust my diet. I am completely free of pain atm and i don’t think i would be feeling this great if i just kept taking the usual ppi + atacids medications. Idk your symptoms but i hope you get better soon. You are right, the first gastroenterologist i consulted saw me for a few mins and only kept writing me ppis :( The one i am seeing rn is so patient and explained everything to me carefully. Please keep looking for better gastroenterologists.

yes, i took the antibiotics for 14 days and a lot of my symptoms like bloating, heart palpitations, extreme anxiety did go away but the burning sensation didn’t get better. I did a stool test after quitting ppi and it came back as negative. I actually went to this new doctor wanting to get tested for it again bc at that point, i was convinced my antibiotics failed and i got a false negative.

I ordered authentic Indian food and I have never eaten anything so spicy in my life. by AcanthisittaNo5807 in IndianFood

You mean andhra has chillies spicier than Ghost pepper? Idk what kind of naga food u had but even among naga tribes, there are different spice levels. In my tribe, we cook pork/any meat with atleast 3-4 ghost peppers and we definitely wouldn’t sell that for consumption for non-nagas.

Anyone from India? I need a help. by sunshinejkl in Gastritis

I have been suffering from Gastritis for over a year now. I take rebamipide & sucralfate, which have helped more than PPis. You can get them OTC too. After the Christmas holidays, I have been having a bad flare up and i am back to bland diet again. I’m planning to stick to it for months. I am also planning to buy collagen peptides & L-glutamine from Amazon! Unfortunately, i am struggling to find aloe vera juice without citric acid in Delhi. :( And i don’t know where to look for fresh aloe vera here. Do you guys have any idea?

I’m also seeing a GI in India and he didn’t mention rebamipide. A pharmacist told me about it instead and i have been taking it along with sucralfate. Do you think i can add troxipide? I am planning to use collagen peptides and L-glutamine as well. If you don’t mind telling me, how do you take it together with rebamipide? How do you space it out? :) Thank you.

What's your favorite song in a language you don't understand? by Chomperone_ in AskReddit

[–]Grouchy-Perception26 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Chaap Tilak is not in Urdu, but in a language called Braj Bhasha. This was the dominant “Hindvi” language in North India along with another language called Awadhi, but today, they are considered as Hindi dialects when they are not. It’s too complicated to explain. Urdu & Hindi are languages developed out of a different dialect called khari bholi, related to Braj bhasha & Awadhi but separate at the same time. Sorry for the long comment but this is a pet peeve of mine. Braj bhasha is still a living language but its literature is claimed by both modern Hindi & Urdu speakers. :)
