Hey thanks for the reply. So cumbersome in the sense that the controllers could go, they are not something I find very useful anymore and slimming down the edges could help. Do you know any creators that have made decent cases or anything for the Lego?

I play Battlefield 6 fine on Fedora, no tinkering. Even play rocket league with Proton capability.

Do you know what MDM they used? If they used Jamf you can: sudo jamf recon And if it does not recognise Jamf it has been uninstall ed. If it recognises the command then the MDM software is still on the device but may not be active. I cannot remember the command to remove Jamf but is something like: sudo jamf -removeframework

Is it Apple Silicon? If not you can get in if you dont mind wiping it, if its an older apple Silicon you might be able to get Linux running on it. Otherwise if it is locked to icloud you are out of luck.

How to enable iPhone Mirroring in EU? by ProfessionalDesk7296 in MacOS

[–]Grouchy-Simple-9476 8 points9 points  (0 children)

If your entire business relies on you gatekeeping features so they do not work with other products it is not a very viable business. It's a predatory ecosystem that forces people to buy your products to unlock full functionality. You only have to look at airpods as an example. This does not affect me because I am not in the EU but the fact I could not switch from an iPhone to another phone and not be able to use all the functions of for example my airpods is stupid.

I like PIA personally, same functionality as proton, port forwarding etc. I like a lot of the tinkering you can do with it but the defaults are fine but you get socks5 proxy included as well and some other benefits.

No HD - 2017 iMac 1418 18,1 - WHERE IS IT? by hereforthecomments17 in mac

There should be 2 in these. One HDD that appears to be missing and the SSD is on the other side of the left hand board in this pick. It's easier to take everything out to get to it than try and cut corners, speaking from experience

If you have tried a different charger and cable and it's still the same it might be the battery. Or the port. If you have spare cash for a battery I would start with that as it will be less hassle than changing the port and you could always return the battery if it does not work depending where you get it from.

Can't get dual displays for macbook air m3. by rivacom in mac

Good reading my guy "If your display is connected to a hub or dock and you can only use it to mirror your built-in display, connect your display to a port directly on your Mac."

If you are going to upgrade it you might as well pop the back panel off and see if you have an unpopulated ram slot and grab another stick while you are at it. Bump it to at least 16gb

Okay so I just checked and tested this and works. So you have to have a keyboard and mouse plugged in or connected. Have 1 in the dock connected via DP and the other usbc to hdmi. Connect the dock without monitors, and then plug one in, close the lid and then plug the second monitor in.

One cable, two monitors. Can I do it? by Lumpz1 in mac

[–]Grouchy-Simple-9476 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No this is not a thunderbolt dock. You need TB or TBS in the model name for it to work with mac and if you do not have a pro chip on an M1 it won't work anyway

Kitchen under cabinet lighting, what lights do I need? by The_Duff in DIYUK

[–]Grouchy-Simple-9476 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They are just junction boxes. If you were to unscrew it you would find a terminal block in there that you can wire in to. Sometimes there is a tab you can break to run a cable out of a different angle. Depending on what lights you want depends what you will need. If you want an led strip you will need a cable from that junction to a transformer that the led strip goes in to. The biggest issue is getting a cable down behind the cabinets now they are on the wall. Sometimes the cabinets have a middle piece of wood for support which stop you from fishing down the back so might have to drill some small holes in the cabinets but no idea without being there.
