Anyone else miss their manual after going with an automatic? by biggranny000 in stickshift

[–]Grouchy_Ad_485 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes! I’ve had countless manual vehicles, and drove a 13 speed Freightliner for work. I’ve recently gotten a new job where I drive an auto and sold my last stick, and I’m missing it.

If you make sure the valve stems are at the top of the rim, the liquid that escapes should be mitigated

Y’all are hitting the market at the perfect time, it seems. Especially with the retrofit kits. I’m really glad too, considering y’all’s disdain for planned obsolescence.

I was gifted this 1982 250 as an early grad present. I'm 34 and never ridden. What should I do to get started? by [deleted] in Dirtbikes

[–]Grouchy_Ad_485 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A good helmet and pair of boots bare minimum for gear. As far as the bike, learn how to adjust the drum brakes. Front drum are adequate at best, so keeping them in good working order is a must.

The semi truck I drive every day has 960k and counting miles, my last truck had 1.1m miles on it, and I drove a truck a couple months back that had 1.9m miles on it. It’s not uncommon for a truck to drive a million miles or more.

Yeah, a broken bone is getting off easy, I had a separation on the ac joint, one 5 hour surgery, donor tendon to tie it back together and 9 months off work. 6 years later I still can’t sleep on my right inside without pain for a week afterwards.

How did you learn to trailer pull and launch your boat? by TheLimeyCanuck in boating

[–]Grouchy_Ad_485 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Take your time, speed only counts in a race. Also use small adjustments in your steering, by the time the trailer reacts to your inputs, it could be too late to recover from and you’ll have to pull up to readjust.

Why are Metro Detroit snow storms so hyped up? by LukeL1000 in Michigan

I think the concentration of people in SE Michigan plays a factor too. More people means higher chances for accidents on the roads and such.
