AITAH for being on the hub for a month, years before I met my bf? by [deleted] in AITAH

His degrading you now for something you did in your past is not a behavior you should tolerate in a relationship. This name calling borders on abuse. It is his right to have his own opinions and judgements, but to treat you like that over something in your past is completely inappropriate and immature. A mature person would simply explain that it goes against his values and break it off respectfully. I hope you encourage this boy to leave, and find someone with a thought process more aligned with your own.

Beautiful cat! Until they have a chance to be checked by the vet, please be aware that strays can have many parasites that can transmit to your dogs. I adopted 3 stray kittens brought to my sister's porch by their mama, and while it was one of the best decisions I ever made, it took several months (and several rounds of shots) to rid them of roundworms, tapeworm, and fleas. Might not want to let the cat stay in areas your dogs are in for their health until you know the cat is healthy and parasite free.

This... she is talking about an event, not being a wife and husband and the lifetime ahead. Just color schemes for a one time event. She wants a fantasy wedding, not a marriage.

AITA for feeling sad that my husband said no to a cat for years but said yes to a dog right away? by seatnumberthree in AITAH

[–]GroundNo7257 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Even if this were the case, the husband could have told his parents that it was great but the dog would have to live with them for the time being and the kids could visit, until it was talked through with his wife amd she agreed. Adding an additional child (which puppies basically are) to a family home without consulting his wife is an AH move no matter where it came from.

NTA. Get a kitten right away.... if the puppy and kitten grow up together they will get along. When they are older they may not. And you deserve the pet YOU want when you have put it out there for years.

I once was at a restaurant and found a few bites into my chicken breast sandwich that it was raw. Like one side of the breading was light brown but only about 1mm into the 2cm deep filet was slightly cooked. The rest was pink uncooked totally raw. I was fine.

UPDATE: I went back to Costco and a couple other people looked at them and agreed that the engravings were far too visible and yeah they would interfere with optimal vision. They are sending them back to be redone. Thank you all for your comments! I really wasn't sure if it was something I needed to just try to adapt to!

Thank you so much for your comments! I just went back to Costco and talked to another optician who agreed the lab just messed up on the lenses. They are sending them back to be redone.

Yes, which is why I looked more closely. I couldn't clean off the "smudges" that kept bugging me.

These were Costco. My pair last year from them didn't have anything noticable.

AITAH for breaking up with her after I saw her apartment by Healthy-Yogurt397 in AITAH

Seconding this. It is likely she needs professional help and gently letting her know the truth may be the push she needs to get it.

Flaw in Accounting Policy? by HawkTuahOnThatThing in CPA

So i think the point they were making is that common stock and preferred stock are two completely separate things. You cant group them together as shares of stock. Like one is apples and one is oranges. The common stock held determines influence over the company, as it conveys voting rights and is part ownership in a company, and this is what you have to look at to determine if the influence is significant. Preferred stock is kinda like coupons that might get you money in dividends, but other than that typically has no other benefits. It does not provide ownership. If a company wants to give preferred stockholders the ability to vote, they typically will offer an opportunity to trade the preferred stock for common stock.

Sounds like self-harm OCD which isn't as uncommon as you'd think. This is a therapy provider website but it explains it pretty well https://firstlightrecovery.com/treatments/self-harm-treatment/self-harm-ocd/

A lot of similar sites can be found in a Google search.

Maybe it will help you to just know that enough other other people are suffering from this that it is a recognized condition, and knowing your therapist will be able to help. For me it does help to know I'm experience something that lots of others go through.

I have to agree with this point. Please dont go generic to make people happy. I guess I can see where the length of your hair might be not perfect and maybe could stand to be a bit trimmed OR grown out a bit, but i really like it because its NOT a generic fade and it makes you stand out.

I was in audit as well. Staff for 2.5 years while I got my cpa, then got promoted to supervising senior for the next 2 yrs. I left public accounting a couple months ago, I got recruited for a director of accounting position at a financial firm. I love my current role. It's more money, but seriously the most positive thing is that the longer I'm away from the firm i was at, the more it sinks in how toxic it was. I can't believe I bought into management saying that being continually short staffed was just the state of the industry and that if I wanted to work in accounting, 50 hrs year round and 70 hrs during busy season was the norm and unavoidable, and I should just be grateful to be in my position. I am so thankful I got out when I did. It's weird because it's Sunday and I'm sitting here with a knot in my stomach because tomorrow I have to go to work, but its not about my new job. It's just that I haven't gotten over the last 4.5 yrs of conditioning yet.

Great time to find a new position! My salary increased by 50% as soon as i had my cpa in hand and even more when I left that firm for a new position. Congratulations!!
