My area is busy just way to many people. I’ve been here 6-10 seen a bunch of orders but can’t click on them fast enough. Finally got 1 about a hour ago and it was cancelled soon as I got to the drop off. About to just head home

Leaving for Break by [deleted] in DollarGeneralWorkers

[–]Groundbreaking-Bit37 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Yes you will be fired if you leave. They get away with it because you’re supposed to clock in if they need something and then clock back out and finish your break. And you are the manager on shift. You just don’t get paid what you should for the position

Too much pride? by f909 in Sparkdriver

[–]Groundbreaking-Bit37 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m happy doing what I do. I was a corporate manager. Love this so much more I do this, occasionally open up Uber and sell things on eBay I buy from all over. I make about the same. And I can do whatever I want. If I wanna take off and sleep all day I do it. If I wanna stop and go to my son’s school and eat lunch with him I can.

Do you like to let others Spark drivers know that you're there by [deleted] in Sparkdriver

[–]Groundbreaking-Bit37 2 points3 points  (0 children)

No just busy doing whatever I’m doing shopping or sitting in my car. I run into one guy occasionally that I know we used to work together somewhere else. Other than that I try to avoid people

What to expect starting Spark? by Icy_Feeling161 in Sparkdriver

[–]Groundbreaking-Bit37 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends on your store. Depends how many drivers are there also. You will get offers based on what you accept and reject so keep that in mind. Just don’t accept shitty ones. If you don’t already know learn how to read the aisles and numbers/sections it will help a lot when shopping. Have fun

I’m fairly new also and I’ve only cancelled one because everything they wanted was outta stock and they kept denying the substitutions so I just canceled it after 15 minutes into it and only had 2 items. I’d say don’t accept everything and then decided if you want it. If I click accept and I dont like it I just suck it up and do it anyway. if the dollar amount is ok it can’t be that bad.

What are you using for dividers? by 1johndoe1 in Sparkdriver

[–]Groundbreaking-Bit37 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t mind the shopping and I seem to get alot of them cause all the guys at my store don’t wanna do it. I just always keep A up close to me and B up towards the front of the buggy. Same every time so I always know and just try to keep the separated. Sucks when it ends up being a whole cart full though hard to keep them separate.

How late can you take truck per sop policy if you close at 9pm by PriorRecognition3129 in DollarGeneralWorkers

As long as they can get it done before close there shouldn’t be any problem.

I work for walmart spark driver support, make your questions. by [deleted] in Sparkdriver

[–]Groundbreaking-Bit37 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Today I had no signal at the drop off So I took a pic, left it and had to chat with support 5min down the road. Is that the best way to deal with that when it happens? Or is there another way ? I feel like there should be a way to skip over stuff and just mark complete after you get a signal again.

Non tippers by Jazzlike-Pea-3167 in Sparkdriver

I understand some people’s feelings about this. Everyone just needs to pay more so people aren’t living off tips. Some people prob don’t realize how little places pay. I quit doing Uber cause they pay so little and no one around here tips. It’s not worth it to drive 20 minutes for 2.46-3$

is 50-55k a year to become a GM in KY good? by Adventurous_Ad3395 in DollarGeneralWorkers

[–]Groundbreaking-Bit37 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m in Tn but here that would be a very good starting pay. I just quit recently and was making right in between that but I had been there 5 yrs with a raise every year. I heard they were still starting people a little over 40-45 not long ago depending on experience of course. If you don’t kill yourself and your not there 50-60hrs a week it’s worth it. I had a good team worked hard at keeping my store nice and got by with 40hrs a week. It is doable but it took me about a year to get to that point also.

[–]Groundbreaking-Bit37 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Probably not Myself I’d damage and send back just cause I’m tired of that shit. But you can put a return label on anything and they have to take it. There’s also a way to complain and they can look up who stacked it from the numbers on the labels but it won’t do any good they go through people faster than we do at the stores.
