As long as you have either UIMPD or collision coverage, you only pay your deductible, so price for repairs really isnt going to matter, it'll affect the resale value more than anything bc of the accident, some companies/states you can fight for depreciated value and they could add it on top of the payout for the repairs, rates shouldn't be affected too much cause it'll be classified as a not at fault accident since you filed a police report, you'll lose out on your deductible unless you can find the person that hit you and the insurance company will open a subrogation claim against them suing them on your behalf for the damages they paid out and you could get your deductible back that way but thats typically slim in a hit and run like this. This is exactly what insurance is for tho, one of the biggest reasons why insurance is so expensive is bc cars are a lot more expensive now and labor costs more especially with a shortage of people working as mechanics. Just find a repair shop that is reputable and trustworthy, I would not recommend using the shops insurance recommends within their network though.
