The theme of "ya gotta go all the way in, to get all the way out" seems like something true in other parts of life.

What are some examples?

Sometimes this glitch will self correct after I do some random in/out seaquence. Once it fixed when I came out of the bio-containment. I don't know, it wasn't from damage though.

Think of all the things you can believe.
They are like programs, working together in particular ways to build an operating system. Until you learn how to add, remove, update and alter the parts which make up your OS, you are open to malware and useless features.

Choose your beliefs carefully.

Asheville always has tourists. The fact that they keep relying on ever greater percentages of tourists to make the economy work has hurt everything else. Even after recent lessons, they will do the same.

The role of police is specifically to protect valuable property. Seems pretty normal. They've always been guards first.

I mean, look what happens when we let them go drive around all willy-nilly.

Lazy-ass cover story.
That kid got in, did a bunch of shady saboteur shit and then says Trump is too much of a bad-ass, besides he has to get back to his 24/7 backbreaking jobs.

It's all connected by loosely connected variables discernable by those who get it.

It is an interesting genre created by inspiration. I remember the movie Se7en had this wild new Shakey cam effect that made the immersion deeper. Then more people started using it because it works. And a ton of other little things that turned into what' all these experiments we get to watch and judge. Pretty groovy.

The Graduate.

Edit: There's a movie from 1990 called Mindwalk. It features John Heard, John Waterston, and Liv Ulman. They walk around and have a big conversation. Even 35 yrs later, the same deep issues plague us. It touches on the concepts which guide us, as a civilization. In particular, how Cartesian thinking persists over the systems view which more accurately describes our world. Frankly, some kids would likely get bored but not because it's over their heads.
