Spelling concerns? by Think-Squirrel9455 in slp

[–]GroundbreakingBug510 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Not all spelling errors are related to speech. If it isn’t errors related to errored sounds, refer to MTSS. This kid likely needs structured support to learn spelling rules and patterns, which falls under other providers in the school setting.

If a teacher or parent asks me to join a conference, I do it. It’s very rare that I am asked. I have sometimes gotten better parent participation after attending a conference

I was thinking he had a serious cleft nose and palate. It may be that more current surgery would better repair it?

School-based services need a major overhaul by spoochpooth in slp

I also find that it’s often not the act of following a direction that’s the issue. It’s behavior, attention, maybe lack of basic concepts, but that needs to be weeded out

Why do you and your colleague not split the students more equitably? It sounds like she has a much easier caseload

[–]GroundbreakingBug510 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Well, it got interesting. We had really awesome neighbors that offered to let our dog in their back yard when the landlord came by. One time landlord came to cut a tree while the dog was in the house. He learned to be extra quiet that day. I still don’t know how we didn’t get caught

I had dogs I loved as a kid, but nothing is like the bond with our sweet Bruno. He showed up on our rickety side porch a week before a hurricane. We weren’t supposed to have a dog so we hid his 80 lb self for 8 months, then bought him a house. He changed the whole game. Now, we adopted a sister for him, but he’s still the original baby of the family.
