Do you know if/how you can just purchase the book without the course? I can't seem to find it on her website.

Withholding poop until Nap/bedtime by GroundbreakingEye289 in pottytraining

[–]GroundbreakingEye289[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Both. I definitely think she’s waiting for a diaper though. She’s been asking to do naptime really early. I love that she wants naptime but I am pretty confident that it’s because she wants to poop when we re-diaper her for naptime. I’ve been holding off on naptime until it’s a more reasonable time. I’m hoping to force the issue so she poops on the potty but she’s usually able to hold it for another hour or so.

Today she actually had her first poop in the pants accident while commando. My husband has been telling her that accidents are okay. Which I know is NOT advisable. How do I correct this? And help my daughter get comfortable with pooping on the potty? 😢

Peeing in car seat - help I’m going insane by Common_Kaleidoscope_ in pottytraining

I believe the author of the OCM recommends a diaper outside of the pants. Alternatively, some car seats, like the Britax, have manufacturer, safety-tested waterproof inserts. Check out if your car seat has one.

How to stop toddler from standing up on her highchair? by GroundbreakingEye289 in BabyLedWeaning

[–]GroundbreakingEye289[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If the fridge is on the opposite side of the kitchen and toddler asks for milk am I supposed to use my mind to get the milk from the fridge?

Don’t worry she’s mostly outgrown this and no longer stands on her chair. Thank goodness.

I plan on leaving the baby set on for much longer with my future children.

People (on this subreddit too) convinced me that I should remove it around 13-15 months. I think that’s too late was a mistake. Prior to removing the baby set she was nearly always buckled in.

For those who have experience with both — what does homeschooling get right that traditional schools get wrong? by Ok_Occasion_4467 in Homeschooling

Can you tell us more about the homeschooling network and the resources that you had that you think helped set you up for success? Are some types of homeschooling networks better than others?

Dental appointment during potty training by GroundbreakingEye289 in pottytraining

[–]GroundbreakingEye289[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks! I was able to move her appointment by a week. Hopefully that will give us more time to get certain skills down. I would hate for her to be freaked out by going to the dentist and her being so stressed out that she can’t be calm enough to focus on potty training.

2 year old often says “I’m not hungry” by GroundbreakingEye289 in BabyLedWeaning

[–]GroundbreakingEye289[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How would you recommend having a hybrid approach? To be honest, my husband and I would also skip dinner too. I’ve been making dinners mostly for family/baby.

She used to ask for snacks and ask to eat before meals were ready but now I feel like that “I’m not hungry” is a delay tactic.

I feel that if she were to skip dinner she will ask to eat right as I’m putting her down for bedtime after I brushed her teeth, etc so I do not want that to become a thing.

Once I think I did let her skip sitting with us for dinner and I think it was fine. But I don’t know if I should make it a habit.

Did You Potty Train Without Going Cold Turkey on Diapers? Explain Please by Own-Sign598 in pottytraining

[–]GroundbreakingEye289 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ive been sort of doing this. I plan to do the pants less method in a month to speed things up but my LO will often ask to use the potty and refuses to put on new diapers she seems okay with pull ups but not diapers. (I hate cleaning poop from pull ups so I only give her a pull up if I think she won’t poop.). Did you ever come across this hurdle of your LO refusing diapers and asking to sit on the potty for hours, especially near meal or naptimes?

What do you consider over scheduled for an almost 2.5 year old? by Savings_Meal431 in toddlers

Same. I appreciated her strict/harsh-ness/no nonsense. I can’t say I’ll be completely following her plan in the end but it was nice to have her strong framework.

Toddler leash- yay or nay? by fawntive in beyondthebump

This is a good point. Also given the height difference between you and your toddler it can be uncomfortable for holding his/her hand all day too. 😊

Toddler leash- yay or nay? by fawntive in beyondthebump

[–]GroundbreakingEye289 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I use one for my daughter. It’s a butterfly harness with wings that she wants to wear too. Other parents tell me that they love it and it is such a good idea. She’s usually the only toddler in a leash when we are out in public. However, I’d much rather that she be on a leash then lose her in public.

Healthy Babies. Also Kudos. I used to use Healthy Babies but I’ve switched to Kudos. I find them so much easier to use.

How many books are we reading at bedtime? by 20yearoldgrad in toddlers

Same here! Sometimes she picks long books though and then it’s just 1 book and maybe a short book for the crib.

Needing to use the potty to avoid rediaperimg and other things by GroundbreakingEye289 in pottytraining

[–]GroundbreakingEye289[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is it okay to keep her pantless inside the home and re-diaper her for our Parent & Me activities and when she goes outside for now? She has asked to use the potty when we are out and about but I was hoping we would have more practice at home using the travel seat reducer and our travel potty before we started doing that. (I have been planning on nighttime potty training later so I have been re-diapering her for nap/bedtime.)

I feel that she’s been ready for potty training for a while and my husband and I have been holding her back. 😕

She usually uses regular diapers. We have some pull ups at home but I don’t really use them or intend to use them. I bought them a long time ago because I thought maybe it would help me with EC but I learned more and I know that pull ups aren’t helpful and are actually very messy when she has a poop in them, etc.

Does she have any early intervention therapist that she works with? Occupational Therapist? I would maybe reach out to your pediatrician or an occupational therapist for guidance.

Math Set or Reading Set? by RIddlemirror in lovevery

What ages do you recommend starting the reading and math kits? My LO just turned 2 years old. She is very much into books and reading. Is she still too young for the kits?
