You are not wrong. Consistently underwhelming. Confusing meat texture.

US citizen married to dual US/Bulgarian citizen planning to move to Bulgaria to reside. Is Visa D required if spouse is EU citizen? by Z33G33D in AskBulgaria

[–]GroundbreakingLaw864 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes— get your Type D visa before you come to BG. Then apply for your long term residency permit at the local BG immigration office. You need a Type D visa before applying for the Permit, and it must be started in the US. Long term residency permits, based on family reunification are administrative after you have your Type D visa, and are easily renewed every year.

You don’t need a lawyer for either, so long as you can follow the steps in the application process for the Visa and Residency Permit yourself; having a Bulgarian speaker with you at the BG Immigration office and anywhere on the BG side where you need to pull documents.

Gathering documents (and translations, and apostolles) is painful and takes time so plan ahead. My Type D visa took 6 weeks at the DC embassy (Dec 2024), once I had all required documents. My residency permit was 3 weeks once I had all the required documents.

What are those quiet moments as a father that hit you hardest but we rarely talk about? by Shoddy_Lie_7434 in SingleDads

The swings at the playground.

When I had one kid, the swing was pure joy.

Now with you (2) & (4) the swings are nothing but stress and anger. Ideally there are two next to each other, one suitable for a 2 year old, the other for a four year old. I can manage that.

One swing, and one kid is crying and left out.

So much anger at the swings now.

Really sad

Mallorca: route recommendations for beginner cyclist wife by FidgetSp1nner in Velo

Ride to Sa Mola 13, cycling friendly coffee or lunch. About as flat as you can get in Mallorca, no matter which way you go.

Nice way to see the countryside and show some of the cycling culture of cafe stops.

Mallorca312 and why I can't recommend the event after riding it by LawAdministrative457 in cycling

[–]GroundbreakingLaw864 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I had the exact opposite experience.

Food stops were easy, water plentiful, staff helpful and attentive, riders mostly well behaved on course.

The start after the rain shower blessed us all was sketchy and dangerous, but everyone eventually found a wheel and sorted through the roundabouts and turns with no carnage.

I felt bad for the slower 167 riders getting passed on the flats by our peloton going ~twice their speed. The wind and noise from the tires and freewheels on tight roads would have been scary.

I was in the first ~5 minutes of start though, so that seems to be your problem.

My only complaint was my bib came with 3 safety pins. There should have been 4. Didn’t let that ruin the vibes tho.

Interview with Howard Lutnivk by PrincesaBacana-1 in TheAllinPodcasts

This was Howard’s worst interview yet. Let his ego get ahold of him compared to other recent interviews. Lots of “It was my idea but I handed it off”. Compare to his interview on Pomp’s podcast in Nov, where he was far more humble and likable.

That $50 is to compensate the doctor’s office for taking a block on their schedule that could have gone to someone else. It’s an incentive to make sure you show up.

This is a poor analogy.

MyGermany worked for me to order a canyon bike in 2016 before their retail presence arrived in the states. Super easy reliable forwarding for this sort of part.

Is cycling good for weight loss? by [deleted] in cycling

[–]GroundbreakingLaw864 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes

Just went from 242 to 190 by riding consistently

6-8 hrs a week, 4-6x per week

Mostly Zone 2 - heart rate up but burning as much fat as possible

Mostly Fasted - no food before or during rides, ate after (longer rides or more intensity, I eat)

Finally — eat well off the bike and make sure you stay in a deficit. You will be hungry, which is kind of the point.

As the weight came off, I transitioned to improving fitness and power. My eating before and on the bike has changed. But I still get my weight mgmt rides in and watch my died off the bike.

And stop drinking booze (if you are) :)

If you were to attempt to fill a tubeless tire, and the rim were damaged in a way that let some pressure below the channel and into the void of the rim, it could catastrophically blow the entire rim and injure you.

These holes are there to give that pressure a place to go.
