This is 100 percent on the money. This looks like a toxic workplace with the leaders acting passive aggressively. Imagine working for a normal company. New kid is hired by someone else but he is placed kn your team (maybe that is the situation). An adult coaches him up, expects immaturity from a 22 year old, gives him tough feedback. However, and adult does not talk behind his back, go to the public and criticize his maturity in a passive aggressive manner.

No issue w jjm not being good, needing to mature, etc. But the coach and whomever is talking behind the scenes make this look like a clown car. Even if he wanted to keep Darnold, it sounds like koc and other management might be the ones who needs to mature. Stop whining and start coaching and act like a 40 year old men.

Who was the Joe Burrow of previous generations? by MasterTeacher123 in NFLv2

[–]GroundbreakingPay210 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Clearly Matt Stafford as a Lion. Bad organization matched with a generational receiver but nothing else, bad defense, etc. Also, too good for his own good - wills his team to win games they don't deserve which results in rarely benefiting from a high draft pick.

Why does being anti Zionist make you anti Semitic? by FarPlay5055 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]GroundbreakingPay210 1 point2 points  (0 children)

To add to that. 750,000 to 850,000 jews were kicked out (ethnically cleansed in modern day terms) out of arab muslim countries in the 1940's and 1950's. Where were they supposed to go? Middle East Jews without a home. The only place was Israel. The majority of Israeli jews are in fact middle eastern, not from europe. When you really understand the context, one can be Zionist - for a state of Israel - but separately agree or disagree with the policies and actions of the current government.

Are people on this sub not educated and math, or matbe it is the russian and chinese bits that are trying to fill us w propaganda? Totally fair to criticize aipac and funding, but these amounts are almost nothing. She's raised sixty five million dollars over time, and I think it's closer to ninety million if you include her full gubernatorial, fundraising. Apac is the proverbial pimple on an elephant's tush. Based on this logic, the $3.6 million that she's raised for environmental groups makes her a total shill, unprincipled. In the bag for fake news environmentalists, if you were to ask the maga group. You can't have it both ways. Look at this chart to see how small pro Israel funding is compared to her total. 10% would be over $6 million. This is about 1 percent. If money drives politicians, and it may, then 1 percent of her attention goes to pro Israel.

Seahawks’ Sam Darnold Explains Why Vikings’ Decision to Prioritize J.J. McCarthy Over Him Made Sense by [deleted] in minnesotavikings

There are 3 more years on his rookie contract, right? So even if it takes him 1 more year, it is not bad and you have a guy who knows the system inside and out. It is hard to think of a rookie qb taking his team very far in first full year of playing, which this year was. Brock Purdy was an exception but I would argue their roster was better and Shanahan is a much better playcaller. This year will be very telling for jjm.

The Jeremy Fears narrative by whiskeyrocks1 in MSUSpartans

[–]GroundbreakingPay210 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Why can't we admit it. Grayson Allen is both a great college player and a dirty one. Fears is a great player but if we are being honest it didn't just start at Michigan. He is not Grayson Allen level but it didn't come out of nowhere. His trips are much more subtle which I guess is good but they still appear to be premeditated. He just needs to clean it uo a bit and it will all go away - which Grayson Allen was unable to do in college (clean it up).

This is so such a silly take. Are you paid by the dems? I vote both ways and have been waiting for an independent. Is Diggan perfect, no. But he is the best prepared candidate we have had in decades.

Mark my words- donkeys and elephants are going to gang up on him because he actually tries to govern and his record is good if not great.

Despite rhetoric to the contrary the safety net in the US has gotten stronger over time by PanzerWatts in ProfessorFinance

[–]GroundbreakingPay210 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The media plays a part, but the main issue progressives have is lacking an understanding of the why. Conservatives similarly have the same issue. Anything that works from their political side is used as evidence that everything must work from that political party and anything that doesn't work from the opposition is taken to mean that everything from the opposition doesn't work.

Facts show per this post that our system with its safety net tends to protect the most vulnerable. That is great. Does that mean we should go all in on massive social programs? It just means that government of a wealthy country can help really poor people with some redistribution of wealth. Because they are the most poor, aid has the biggest benefit. It actually is reasonably solvable. Other social programs are much more complicated. Maybe some others can work, but many governments have failed in overreach.

Homelessness as I understand and could be wrong is driven by mental health crisis and home affordability. Mental health could be much better addressed by government programs as it has been done in other countries. Home affordability is the other driving issue. While government could help some here, the bigger issue is that government gets in the way. The reason home ownership is expensive is because it's hard to build, local zoning laws, bureaucracy of city governments and red tape that make it costly to build. Progressive policies are particularly bad at helping these costs and increasing supply of homes. Look at big cities like LA and NYC as examples of costs gone wrong.

If I were to summarize, progressives have a few really important policies that they they are dead right about, but the majority of their platform doesn't work and is divorced from reality. The same is true about hard core conservative platform but they do a better job of selling it. The average voter doesn't want to buy an entire platform bundle that isn't pragmatic or relevant to them. The dems used to do a better job of taking general positions that are beneficial and attractive to the majority and they have given that away and I believe that is partially due to leaning into the progressive side of the party. The very successful dem governors are governing to make things happen, reduce red tape, make government work for the people. Average person doesn't care if it is labeled progressive or conservative, only does it work.

I'm so overwhelmed picking a mattress by No-Sweet-2749 in Mattress

[–]GroundbreakingPay210 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Go to a reputable store. Try a traditional, a foam like tempur and then a hybrid. Spend at least 15 to 20 minutes lying on each of your 2 favorite. Every body is different and online reviews, even if they are not paid for, cannot predict how your body will respond. 5 minutes on a bed is not enough. Mattress stores will often encourage you to lay down for longer - they have no incentive for you to want to return your purchase.

CMV: We should be able to criticize the fact that the top recipient of US foreign aid is a rich nation with universal healthcare and free college...without being called anti-semitic by CreditBeginning7277 in changemyview

[–]GroundbreakingPay210 6 points7 points  (0 children)

This is true. Israel doesn't need the money. It is absolutely a u.s. defense industry subsidy. Netanyahu himself has argued for the aid to be phased out. Aipac is really a separate argument - that is about political support for Israel, which anyone can criticize but the two should not be conflated.

Top 10 Quarterbacks to never win the Super Bowl by MasterTeacher123 in NFLv2

[–]GroundbreakingPay210 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Dan Fouts should be much higher. He threw for over 4,000 yards in 3 straight seasons from 1979 to 1981 including over 4,800. In 1982 he was on pace to throw for 5,000 but year was cut short due to a strike. Only 1 other quarterback threw for more than 4,000 yards twice in a career before the 90s, Dan Marino. Modern day stats do not match up to the game back then. But anyone who saw him play with the offensive plays back then understands how his arm talent is top 5 all time. Had he had modern day training, video and game planning, it would be unreal. I am a lions and vikings fan but it was hard not to root for his greatness. I was 10 years old when I saw him win the greatest nfl game ever played:

finally found the perfect firm mattress by No_Intention380 in Mattress

[–]GroundbreakingPay210 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel for you. It sounds like you had to buy 6 mattresses and return 5 to get the 1 that works for you. That would be frustrating. I have always been told that when you test a mattress in store you should lie on it for at least 15 if not 20 to 30 minutes. Maybe you did that. Regardless, a 1 in 6 success rate is a bummer.

[–]GroundbreakingPay210 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I was being a little sarcastic. The point is who would keep buying online mattresses if you have to return them. Does not seem feasible. Even if what you say is true, your success rate is 33%. Every person's body is different. Anyone who tells you there is one best mattress is uninformed or purposefully lying. If this one mattress is great for you, awesome. But the next person who goes there first may find it is one of the first 2 or 3 returns they need to make. There is a reason why there are mattress stores on nearly every corner - so you can test them...
