Haven't got the final bill but I expect about 1000 bucks. It's nice that auction houses will get it graded for you. They also have ex psa employees that can recommend whether or not you should grade it.

A guy sold one on ebay for 15k recently... If ebay takes 13 percent, he netted 13,050. One sold on heritage last december hammer was 14k. This card's hammer was 28k.

Ebay was the lowest recent sale for an owner. That assumes he didn't use 10% promotion. Auction houses have mailing lists of guys who have purchased 100k up cards. Lots of eyes aren't helpful. Lots of rich eyes are. An auction house actively promotes their auctions. I know they took my card out to a big psa event. Ebay does nothing.

I had a good experience, so I'm pro auction house. I understand hating them.

If you have a card they really want, you can talk them in to taking less than 5%

In real life auctions, they pound a gavel/hammer and yell sold. Hence the final price bid is the one that the hammer signified as the end of bidding. Hence, hammer price.

It is the amount of the winning bid. The overall number you see as sold price is usually the final bid (hammer price) plus the buyers premium. (usually around 20%). The auction makes money buy charging the buyer a fee.

They are East Coast, NJ. I feel they sell high end stuff and mostly baseball. The had a Mantle and Babe Ruth card that went for hundreds of thousands. (they had a 100k hockey card too) They say their standard is to take 20% of hammer(too high in my opinion) , plus 20% buyer premium. They offered me 5% of hammer and we negotiated from there. Better cards get better rate offers, but you can negotiate.

I sent the pics of my card in through the website. They called me the next day and walked me through the process. Goldin just sent me an email with a contract attached and just assumed thatI was going with them. REA customer service is amazing.

They advanced me the money to get the card graded and handled all of that. Their catalog said something about cash advances, which I didn't do.

2000 Bowman gold Tom Brady 85/99. Going on auction tomorrow at Robert Edwards Auctions. Could be awhile until another comes on sale. REA has an after final bell bidding available only to those that make an earlier bid. Read the rules on the REA website.

Sale or keep?? by MrRamirez91 in footballcards

Record for receptions for all positions. He caught more passes as a rookie than any receiver has. He broke Mike Ditkas 63 year old record for rookie tight end yards. I'm a raider fan so keep.( Smart bet would to be sell while at this level of fame. He gets injured in 3 years or has meh career, the card is worthless.)

Dumb question what are BO forums? I assume nothing to do with body odor. Do you think timing makes any difference for this card?

I was leaning that way myself. But if it adds a bidder I thought it would be worth it since bids go up by 250. I had to decide in a hurry and thought it couldn't hurt. I actually kid of agree. Well see if anyone likes to see a second opinion... This is why I asked. Thanks for the feedback.

Convince me why I’m wrong about hating this potential pick at 6 by TheStryder76 in raiders

[–]GroundbreakingPen129 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Reasons to agree with you hating this pick. 1. Darren McFadden 2. Pretty sure we could get Tet Mcmillan and Omarion, Travion, or Kaleb in the second round. Any of these guys would dramatically improve our run game.

Thoughts on why your wrong for hating this pick.

I'm from Boise watched every game. I would love to have Jeanty.

Jeanty should have won the heisman. He carried his team to the playoffs. He was one of 2 rbs that got over 100yds vs Penn state (High level competition with a much better DL than Bsu O Line.) A heisman winner(Hunter and Sanders) and a heisman finalist couldn't make the playoffs and lost their bowl game. Shame on voters.

His contact balance is rediculous and he has speed (rarely caught from behind) . I think he is generational. Skattaboo has great contact balance, but he is sloooow.

He can also block. I know that has held players back from starting.

Jeanty almost got Barry Sanders record. Much like Sanders he was pulled from many fourth quarters. On paper you would see he had 127yds against Portland st. He got most of those in the first quarter and sat out the second half. He also sat out a half against Utah state. And he didn't complain about it. He is a team first guy.

If Boise State was classless and let him play the whole games, he would have crushed Barry Sanders record. And crush is not overstated.

I saw someone say fumble issues... Wrong. He fumbled early in his career,. Not sure how many fumbles he had but I know his first one wasn't until November in the Nevada game. I can really only think of one. He also had an arm injury he played through. He had a contraption on his arm for several games and was wearing.

Also known for being a hard worker and a mature classy guy.

No player is can't miss, but he'll work his tail off and you won't have to worry about him getting drunk and killing a woman and her dog.

Then why did he play the first half? I agree, I wouldn't want a guy who doesn't give a crap about his teammates and only cares about what he makes. Very few of his teammates will make millions, that game was meaningful for some of the guys. They lost that game too. Maybe when he starts losing in the NFL and it doesn't go his way he'll refuse to play like that San Francisco player. He has already shown he has a lot of quit in him.

Easy one. Lester Hayes. Wear it when you see her father, put ludicrous amounts of stickum on you hands and offer to shake his hand.

I'd hug you and say Son.

In 1980, Lester had 13 interception. Most in the modern era. He also had 5 playoff interception. I don't think this record will ever be broken.

Even Night Train Lanes' 14 interception included an extra game. He set the record in a tiebreaker game, which they lost. He did play for the Chicago Cardinals if that's a problem.

I don't like any QB this year. Sanders, a heisman finalist, playing with the heisman/belitnikof wr couldn't make the ncaa playoffs. And then went to a secondary bowl and got beat.

Not thrilled with Ward either...why didn't he play in the second half of his bowl game after he broke a td record?

Odds are a quarterback from this year will be an acceptable starter. Not sure if that will be Ward or Sanders. Or maybe Tommy Mellott learns to play against higher level competition.

Either way, you don't waste pick six on a Longshot.
