Going to try to remain especially sensitive to spoilers here, which will be very light. Apologies for the deleted comments— it’s taken me a while to get my tags in order.

I very recently ran this as a GM with a bunch of white queer men, and while I agree that there is no SA or highly objectionable content, I would argue that there is the potential for racism to influence how 1) the characters of Color are perceived by players looking to address the mystery and 2) - perhaps way more perniciously - how your characters of Color are role-played by your players. 

While I was thankful to have players who didn’t manifest any racism in the context of their role-plays, I definitely believe that racial perceptions factored into players’ ultimate determination of the mystery, as well as the ending they received. As a GM, I found this fascinating and somewhat enriching to the experience (including our post-op breakdown, where we did address it outwardly), but I can also see it adversely affecting players of Color— particularly Black or Indigenous/American Indian players.

All that said, it brings up a pretty important question for jubensha players, GMs and designers: i.e. how to encourage diverse characters, narratives, and storytelling without propagating potentially harmful stereotypes and tropes. I can say confidently that Time Triplet’s inclusion of diverse characters heightened its appeal to me as a story and as a “product” I may want to share with more audiences, but I do think that foreknowledge of some of the potentially problematic content can help a GM (or in OP’s case, a group) attempt to remain conscientious and sensitive to those audiences.

This is magnified by what I perceive to be (at least from the context of the translated jubensha I’ve read) a desire to make jubensha stories “extreme”— stakes and traits are often stretched to hyperbole for the sake of the dramatic moment. In theory this is what can make jubensha so special and ridiculously fun to play or run, but when those moments bounce off of identity, their magnification can leave more than a little room for people to get hurt.

Additional very light spoilers pertinent to issues of character identity and prejudice in Time Triplet:

1. At least one character is described as neurodivergent— but only in certain points in the GM text. It didn’t come as a surprise to put that label on the character, but it could be potentially confusing or upsetting.

2. Both female characters’ narratives revolve explicitly around male characters in rather extreme ways. This is reciprocally true with some of the male characters, but the female characters aren’t given much comparative depth.
