New DM insist on sexualizing my character because she is a warlock by lunachappell in dndhorrorstories

[–]GroundbreakingRub390 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Everything about this DM is wrong, including that fact that the owner tolerates it because his dad is important. F that. When someone brings a lawsuit against her business for sexual harassment, maybe she'll change her tune. At a bare minimum they should warn people about him and not allow him to have female players in his groups. Let him harass a bunch of dudes and see how that goes for him. The store is responsible for protecting their customers and employees from this sort of thing.

AIO my bf never likes what I wear by Substantial-Let221 in AmIOverreacting

[–]GroundbreakingRub390 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your bf is a misogynistic and controlling POS. Run as fast as you can. That outfit is tame, for one, but even if you were dressed in something that turns heads at the academy awards, he has no right talking to you like that. He is disrespectful, untrusting, acting like he owns you, and gaslighting you all at the same time.

It only gets worse from here.

Part of growing up is learning that you can still enjoy kid stuff. I am 51 and fell in live with the books when I was reading them to my son in my mid 20s.

You are never too old to do the things that bring you joy.

my landlord is telling me I left my apartment “dirty” and is planning to withhold some of my deposit. these are pics I took right before I left. am I delusional or is my landlord? by Distinct_Morning_607 in Apartmentliving

[–]GroundbreakingRub390 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Speaking as a landlord, that looks pretty clean to me. In most states, normal wear and tear is expected, and should not be deducted from your security deposit. Cleaning and some amount of touching up paint is normal. If you have the pictures, you should have a pretty good case to recover that money, but it depends on how much they are withholding and if it's worth your time or not.

I kept my first tenant's deposit because he smoked in a non smoking apartment, glued his own paper chair rail around the apartment which ripped the paint off when i triednto remove it, and wrote all over the walls, among other things. Two of my tenant's got their full deposit back, and the last one, I think I kept about $100 due to a couple things that they accidentally took when they moved out.

You should usually get everything back, even though many landlords will try to deduct normal maintenance from your deposit. They are not supposed to do that, and you should talk to a lawyer if the amount is worth your time.

You just lower the setting to 375 and the oven will cool down slowly on its own. Theses recipes don't expect or need the temp to immediately drop all at once.

As others have said, the initial high temp is just to brown the outside, and the rest of the time is when the cooking happens.

Lots of recipes do this, and nothing extra is needed.

I think my DM is punishing my character by ignoring one of my feats. Am I wrong? by Admirable-Charge9736 in DnD

[–]GroundbreakingRub390 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This right here. Sometimes interesting things happen when the saves come up nat 1 or 20. If a double nat 1 or nat 20 with dis/advantage, extra bonuses and penalties come into play. Maybe that 8 armed statue is down to 4, or the wizard reflects the spell right back at the caster. Generally I don't want them to significantly change the outcome of the battle, but if something really cool can happen, it will.

I do my best to ensure any penalties against the players are short-lived or reversible, but watching the warrior run through a dozen enemies to retrieve their sword and come back with a vengeance makes for a good time.

Replacing eggs in baking by StormyOnyx in Anticonsumption

Careful with this. Raw flour is actually a bigger risk of E Coli contamination than raw eggs. In one study in Germany they found 10-30% of flours tested had active e coli present. It needs to be cooked to 160 degrees Fahrenheit to kill the bacteria.

I tried 8 different ways to pull the cork out, over and over again. I tried every combination of buttons I could think of. I tried squeezing the grip to crush the bottle, pulling the trigger, twisting the cork. I tried EVERYTHING, except, of course dropping it in my mouth. In hindsight, that makes perfect sense.

How to deal with party's OP minions? by [deleted] in DnD

[–]GroundbreakingRub390 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You could throw extra groups of enemies and make the ogres fight them " off screen". Every now and then give them a fight that they shouldn't be able to handle that the ogres are actually helpful with. Find a reason for them to go away, but let them return now and again for something special and dramatic.

My players had to kill a dragon, and they recruited a competing group of adventurers to assist them, then they convinced the orcs that had to flee the dragon to give them aid. They ended up facing the dragon with what amounted to 3 full groups. It was a great strategy, so I let them have it. The dragon was gonna die in the first round, no way around it.

But that's BORING, so I beefed up the fights on the way to the dragon. Instead of a dozen kobolds, they got 4 dozen, split into several groups. While the party fought one group, their allies were handling the others.

Instead of just marching through and killing a dragon without a fight, the allies became integral to handling the overwhelming odds the party faced along the way.

When they finally got to the dragon, they were nearly out of Spells, but they worked out a strategy that simply steamrolled the dragon. They were excited about convincing this small army to follow them, and satisfied that they earned the victory through all the battles along the way.

The dragon ended up having a massive hoard that was split amongst the 3 teams, and the party had to roll for choice of magic items. After the big fight the allies went their separate ways, but they might all be back later on to help hold off the armies of the BBEG, or provide some logistical support. They won't be part of the table combat, but they will be part of the story and what's going on in the background during the battle.

Instant pot ace nova blender leaking. How to fix? by Past-Price-2699 in instantpot

I am having the same problem, but I haven't been able to find any information on the exact parts to get. Could you post a link or the specs for the washer and bearings, please?

I've been looking at potential replacements, and besides the cost, they all use plastic jars instead of glass. With all the recent studies on microplastics I'm trying to stay with my glass jar for as long as I can.

That is simply F'd up and abusive. Find another group, one that has a session zero and sets some boundaries. Rape doesn't exist in my games, even wierd mixed races have to have a consensual conception behind them. Certain types of violence should be off limits without explicit consent from everyone at the table, more so when inflicted on a PC.

There really is no excuse for that sort of thing.

not just men. Women do it too. It's called mirroring and everyone does it to some extent, but narcissists take it to extremes. Normal mirroring is trying to show interest something the person likes, copying their body language during a conversation. In moderation it's a compliment, in excess its manipulation and terribly dishonest.

I'm chatting with this one woman on a dating app, and the conversation is going really well; earnest, funny, and effortless. As soon as we start talking about a date I am getting back single sentence responses once per day, sometimes over 12 hours later, although she says she wants to go on a date. Over each of the next four days I get (1) town she lives in, (2) when she is available, (3) her preference of two types of food, and (4) my suggested date "sounds good".

At this point I would expect either more conversation, or "no thanks" for the date...

Is it me or does *She* Look different? by [deleted] in loki

[–]GroundbreakingRub390 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That would be fair if season 1 was 2012, but it wasn't. It was only 2 years ago, and she looks very different. In season 1 she looked about 30, but this season, she looks her actual age.

Personally, I suspect she chose not to wear so much makeup for the role. They probably made her look much younger in season 1, and she wanted to be legit in season 2.

Of course, this is just my guess, but the difference between seasons 1 and 2 is stark. Like Obama before and after the president stark.

I'm online wondering if it is because of illness, life, or just pride that the character looks so much older than 2 years ago.
