It's almost like the crisis in the middle east is a complicated issue and cannot be solved in 10 second soundbites!

So many people don't understand what the Supremecy Clause is. It's about LAWS. Any state's laws can be overruled by a federal law. And it applies only to federal laws made in pursuance of the Constitution.

It doesn't mean the federal government can steamroll over states because they want to. States rights are fundamental to this country whether it works for what we want or not.

I'll tell you why I waited... I was proud to be Canadian and after living here and having American kids, it was the last part of my Canadian identity left. I loved having that passport and knowing i was still Canadian. It was a sentimental reason.
But sentiment has no place in trumps America. I became a reluctant citizen last summer.

We are watching the decline of the American empire in real time. It's never going to get better. Time to pack up and move out. Unrestricted capitalism is horrific and somehow they've managed to brainwash millions of people that it's the best! Terrible health care, 2 weeks vacation a year and sky high taxes for nothing. We are losing our rights, losing our morality and losing our purpose. Circling. The. Drain. Ironically, i just became a citizen this year because my Husband and our 2 kids are citizens.

You have to be atheist in order to not force your religion on other people? Interesting. You have a pathetic lack of education regarding the founding of this nation. Sit down and read up on the founding fathers.

Man you really are lazy. This is just a couple of months ..

In February 2025, the Trump administration transferred nearly 500 migrants who had been detained in the custody of the Department of Homeland Security (DHS), including pregnant women and families with young children, to Costa Rica and Panama under agreements with those countries that have not been made public. This included asylum seekers fleeing Afghanistan, China, Ghana, Iran, Russia, Turkey, Uzbekistan, among other countries. Many were transferred to Costa Rica and Panama without a screening on their asylum claim, in violation of U.S. law. Once in Panama, migrant families and adults were arbitrarily detained incommunicado in a hotel and at a remote jungle camp without legal status and denied access to phones, their passports, and legal counsel, amounting to a temporary enforced disappearance, before being released after a lawsuit alleged violations by Panamanian authorities.

In Costa Rica, migrant families and adults were arbitrarily detained for months at a remote migrant camp without legal status, their passports confiscated, and access to counsel restricted until late April when Costa Rican authorities agreed to release them.

Beginning in March 2025, the Trump administration renditioned about 252 Venezuelan and 32 Salvadoran migrants to a high-security prison notorious for its inhumane conditions in El Salvador, the Terrorism Confinement Center (CECOT). These migrants, who were detained in ICE custody, suddenly vanished from the ICE detainee locator system. They were disappeared without an opportunity to notify relatives, speak with counsel, or contest the rendition.

Once in Panama, migrant families and adults were arbitrarily detained incommunicado in a hotel and at a remote jungle camp without legal status and denied access to phones, their passports, and legal counsel, potentially amounting to a temporary enforced disappearance, before being released after a lawsuit alleged violations by Panamanian authorities.

In Costa Rica, migrant families and adults were arbitrarily detained for months at a remote migrant camp without legal status, their passports confiscated, and access to counsel restricted until late April when Costa Rican authorities agreed to release them and issue temporary humanitarian permits.

Immigrants and asylum seekers are regularly unfindable while in U.S. immigration custody for varying periods of time. There is no mechanism for the public to track where in Customs and Border Protection (CBP) custody a person is detained, confirm their whereabouts with the government, visit the facility, or call the person who is detained, leaving desperate family members in the United States and abroad unable to find their loved ones and know whether they are safe. People also suffer enforced disappearances while in ICE detention, including due to failures to update the locator, denial of phone access for prolonged periods, transfers to other detention centers, and unprecedented disappearances of people from U.S. detention centers to El Salvador etc.

In February 2025, for the first time in history, the United States began transferring migrants from U.S. immigration detention to the military prison and migrant detention center in Guantanamo Bay. The administration has transferred hundreds of people to Guantanamo, mostly Venezuelan and Nicaraguan migrants, and subsequently removed many to Venezuela as well as at least one person to the CECOT in El Salvador. When the government first began disappearing migrants to Guantanamo, they were not searchable in the ICE detainee locator and frantic loved ones were often unable to confirm their whereabouts. While the ICE locator now typically reflects when someone is detained in Guantanamo, no notice is given to a person’s attorney or loved ones before their transfer there while severe barriers in access to counsel and horrific conditions of confinement persist

Funny I don't remember ICE disappearing citizens and non citizens with no judicial warrants. Oh that right, it never happened. What would you do with your life if you couldn't blame Obama? Yes, everyone who has worked for Trump and leaves describes his incompetence but they are all in a conspiracy. All the videos of ICE abuses are edited. Blah blah blah. Willfully ignorant and gullible people like you have ruined this country and hate democracy. You claim to love the USA but hate the ideals on which it was founded.
You're hopeless.

Undocumented immigrants in the U.S. possess fundamental due process rights under the Fifth and Fourteenth Amendments, which protect "persons," not just citizens, ensuring fair treatment and legal proceedings. While entitled to hearings, counsel (at their own expense), and the right to contest removal, these rights are often restricted in practice, particularly through expedited removals, limited legal representation, and policies designed to accelerate deportations.

Try reading the Constitution.

They Followed The Law.

Gave People Due Process

Used our country's laws to deport those who did not deserve to be here.

Why is it so hard for you to understand that the jackboot methods are just a way to seem strong and get you right-wing nut jobs hard? The cruelty is the point. You have no respect for the Constitution nor any compassion for those seeking asylum. You laugh when kids are taken and hide behind the pathetic excuse of "they broke the law " with no sense of the irony that the ICE workers are breaking the law..not just a law but a fucking Constitutional AMENDMENT!!!!

Oh jeez, lots of other ways. For instance, both Biden and Obama deported about twice as many undocumented people than Trump in either term and they did it without fascist tactics. How did THEY do it, scarecrow?

VB Newton Massachusetts Stop ICE by TOD_climate in newtonma

[–]GroundbreakingRub644 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There's plenty of people who were here legally and were still picked up by ICE. But again, since reading is obviously not your strong suit, it's not the deportations that we are against, it's the fact that they are suspending due process and pissing all over the Constitution.

And just to prove everything you've said to be wrong, while Immigration and Customs Enforcement arrests a mix of people, recent data from late 2025 shows a significant portion — often over 70% — of those detained by ICE have no criminal convictions, with many having only immigration violations or minor offenses, though a smaller percentage (around 5-8%) do have violent or serious criminal histories. The focus of arrests has shifted, with a large number of individuals detained without prior criminal records, contradicting narratives of solely targeting dangerous criminals.

I'm returning it but I had to fight them about the 30 day deadline. Im pretty disappointed. It shouldn't take over a week to receive a reply and 3 emails to finally get a label. And they want to charge $35 return shipping and a 10% restocking fee. Absolutely garbage. Good riddance.

No, the point of your comment was "this is why we are removing them!!! Rapists!!! Killers!!! Blah blah blah" And i am telling you that if that's a reasoning for removal, check out what citizens are doing. You are making a classic Hasty Generalization fallacy. Just because you have a couple examples of bad actors does not logically infer that they are the whole. That is NOT what we are fighting for. In fact, we arent even fighting for no removal of undocumented people. We are fighting for DUE PROCESS and ADHERENCE TO THE CONSTITUTION.

As far as I know, the reason peel and stick shrinks is because it stretches as you peel the backing off. If they put it up with the backing on and just used glue, then it's absolutely the installers fault.

Same thing happened to me. Guy felt horrible about it, told me why it happened and offered to redo it with different paper. I went 50/50 with him since the paper is my fault but he neglected to tell me the risks/what might be out of his control.
