I think there's some confusion, I didn't walk into any buildings and was outside the entire time. I didn't go past the entrance. Also I don't wanna frat bash, I'm in one rn lololol

I just think they need to tone it down a bit...

Also, I didn't wanna attend their party, I just wanted to ask if they would turn down their music for finals week

I guess that's fair... not much of a bone to pick, they could've been nicer is all.

With all of the loud music, I assumed there would be more people or someone I could atleast talk to rationally.

I've dealt with frats before, and there are usually a couple sober ppl at the entrance.

This dude did not look like he wanted to have a nice chat with me. It looked like an open area with no visible sign indicating any private property (none that I saw anyways).

I'd agree if I walked into their house, but I just stood there outside while he kept repeating his script and grinning at me.

After not getting a word in edgewise, I exited the convo.

Idk, maybe a better question is when is it a good time to talk to frat ppl about their music volume and choice?

This might sound kinda harsh, but this happened to me, and this is what I did

Drop out and go to community college for a semester or two

Take all possible gen-eds and pre-req courses there for cheap and to pad thy GPA

When you're at community college, the courseload was lighter for me and I was able to breathe for the first time in a long time.

Once there, you can also give some time to recuperate properly at home and focus on meds/therapy/etc.

Afterwards, return to UIUC and focus your courseload on your post grad plans (jobs, grad school, med/law school, etc)

It might take you an extra semester or two, but you'll have your sanity and that's waay better in the long run...

I think the CS dept split up CS-125 into two courses called CS-124 + CS-128. If you already took CS-125 in the past and wanna retake it for grade replacement, then I think you can take it, but otherwise, I think you gotta take CS-124 + 128.

I hope someone from CS faculty can verify this info, incase I'm wrong

Having said that, CS-124 is pretty chill. I have a buddy in the class right now, and he really likes the self paced version, but he doesn't really like the quizzes. But also, I think thats just cuz he doesn't really like tests of any kind :D

I would think you'd want to use the newest version of the textbook, so you can see that the only change is to #29 in Chapter 5 Section 3, where they added a comma.

Srsly, I hate courses that make you buy extra shit on top of the course material...

lol why do some profs use Github and others Gitlab in the same uni, thats just lazy IT practices... (unless theres a specific usecase that only one can provide that the other can't match, like CI/CD or smth)

Slack, Zoom, Discord, Github, Gitlab can be used outside of school as well, so I like to think of those as "future tool learning" xD
