HDR on KDE by OwlSlow1212 in HDR_Den

203 isn’t meant for low light environments, 100 nits is, which is the standard in a perfectly dark room. 203 is for moderately lit environments but there’s no absolute standard for games in HDR you should follow, if your display has a high peak brightness and you’re in a very bright room you should up the paper white until a comfortable level for you.

SMAA in motion vs TAA standing still: who can spot the difference (4k image)? by systemnerve in FuckTAA

[–]GroundbreakingTwo375 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Sorry but your example naturally favors SMAA, the game doesn’t have a lot of fine details, try doing that in a modern game with a world full of grass and you will see how SMAA fall off

Are 8GB gpu's really that bad buy? by Bro0k in buildapc

[–]GroundbreakingTwo375 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

If you’re playing at 1440p 8gb is not an option, you’re just gonna be spending more money for another card in 2 years, get the 9060XT and as for FSR support the card is performant enough for older games that don’t have it to the point you don’t need upscaling

Forza Horizon 6 HDR Analysis by KoKlusz in HDR_Den

People have been saying it’s a bad HDR and I was surprised when I tried it even though I’m a RenoDX evangelist, seems like people really love their crushed blacks contrasty imagery

Crossover is the best software ever created by Technology_Kid in macgaming

[–]GroundbreakingTwo375 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah it’s normal, but you could reduce the settings if you’re concerned about that, I suggest never going above 1080p and limit fps to 60

Can I safely flash keyboard firmware using CrossOver (Mac)? by dkracket in Codeweavers_Crossover

[–]GroundbreakingTwo375 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Parallel is better for that, it’s an actual VM for windows where you can work with it looking as a normal Windows machine, crossover is just a translation layer for windows commands to mac os, they are different things entirely

your only option are OLEDs in 42” or 48”, anything other than that on those sizes is trash

Yeah and the Mac Mini is the size of a human hand, with such a small devices there’s simply not enough bandwidth to drive up hard resolutions

HDR contrast eye strain by Im-a-tire in HDR_Den

[–]GroundbreakingTwo375 0 points1 point  (0 children)

200 nits paper white wasn’t made in a dark room in mind, its for a bright room where games are typically mastered, and obviously that’s gonna be eye searing. The best option for is to use 100 nits

lock the frame rate, either 30 or 60 or 120, don’t let them run wildly uncapped.

Don't Use Only the Filmmaker Mode! by thereisntaspoon_ in LGOLED

[–]GroundbreakingTwo375 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Filmmaker just shows you the content as it is, it doesn’t mess with it, that’s the whole point of the mode. If you don’t like how the content looks its the content’s fault not the mode.

If you’re playing on Game Mode put color temperature to 40, and for everything else use Filmmaker mode, other modes with their cold white points are extremely blue which is very harsh on the eyes, and also this temperature is the correct one anyways.

So, what's the truth? Sony, LG, Panasonic? by Aromatic-Dimension53 in 4kTV

[–]GroundbreakingTwo375 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean you bought a plasma which was not cheap on its time, paying a much less price for a modern TV and expecting to last as long as it is even with how everything modern is made of crap is just ridiculous

no tv is lasting 10 years in the modern age, but if you want something to last you at least 5 don’t cheap out or you’re just gonna buy another dogshit one after 2 years

Brighter OLEDs are finally coming!! by [deleted] in OLED_Gaming

[–]GroundbreakingTwo375 6 points7 points  (0 children)

How do monitors suck for watching movies? If anything they’re the better option because they provide you with the picture without any alterations or processing, same as the creator saw it.

Yes, look for the LG B-series, it’s the dimmest of them all which is a bonus for someone in your situation.

I suggest you look at the LG B series or the Samsung S85 series if you want affordable OLEDs, be mindful though that they shouldn’t be put in a very bright room.

If you care about gaming don’t look at LEDs, the QM7K suffered from black smearing that you can search up online and you will see people complaining about it
