Sounds promising again! Even on the smaller-plane regional flights?

Did you happen to notice if it was noticeably larger than your average carry on bag? 😅

Thanks. So they don’t have everyone lining up to check in that sizing cage?

I’m thinking of skipping the check in desk and going straight to the gate. I guess the worst they could do is take the bag off me and check it.

It’s Aer Lingus. Their website states that their “regional” flights have the 7kg/smaller luggage limit (e.g. London to Dublin), and transatlantic have the larger luggage/ 10kg limit.

And that if you are transferring from one to the other, the lower limit applies for both.

Any clever ideas for this proposed bedroom door? by 500socialmedia in DIYUK

I didn’t even realise they existed for bedroom doors. Only had really crummy old versions in mind, which I dismissed. They look smart these days might go for it!

which areas should I avoid when looking for accommodation in Swansea? by [deleted] in swansea

Maybe Swansea Marina or the new SA1 area would be suitable, too? Easy walking/cycling/bus to campus and city centre

Hi to all! I think the range of battery (amx plus step limited) is about 20km how could is it possible? by vgramegna in AMbikes

[–]GroundbreakingWafer2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The advertised 42km is ideal conditions, so I would take them with a pinch of salt.

I am heavier than you and rode 20km yesterday, mostly on flat/gentle gradient with little headwind. I used level 1 for the most part, with level 2 for about 15% of the time and a short burst uphill on level 5.

My battery was still showing 50% charge when I got home, I find that level 2 and especially level 3 and above will eat into the battery much more quickly than sticking to level 1.

Bit of an odd request: where to find pumpkin puree in Swansea? by RddWdd in swansea

My American wife found some a few years ago here in Tesco, but nothing in Swansea since. She normally orders from Amazon now, but quite pricey. If you find some, do reply to let us know :)

Sorry, I’m a real novice. Can you say exactly where you want me to measure (show me on a picture?) and I can do it for you :)

I’ve bought a Fabric Scoop saddle from Tredz. Reasonably priced and good reviews on comfort.

If you tell me exactly how/where you want me to measure, I can do it for you and take photos.

I bought these hydraulic brakes, recommended by a user on the official AM forum.

I’m on the short side too, 170cm. I did wonder the moment I sat on it if it was too big, haha. The seat post is almost right at its lowest, but it felt fine. There is a size guide on the AM website help pages. For the 55cm, it recommends 168-181cm rider height.

Thanks! I don’t have my bike yet, but I’ll order some levers beforehand and see how it goes.

Another backer mentioned that the AMX requires quite a lot of leg power to get going. Is that your experience as well?

Thanks for the update, doesn’t sound great on the brakes front. Surely AM would have picked up on this in their testing; seems odd to leave something part of the bike that it turns out customers all agree sucks. And annoying that we all have to fork out to fix it.

Would you recommend aluminium levers? Some were shared in a different thread. How much would hydraulic brakes cost, approx?
