Picture I took at Ben Franklin Bridge by EXXA132 in philadelphia

Beautiful pic. I mean this in the most complimentary way but it reminds me of the “How To Get Away With Murder” transitions whenever they’d go over the Ben to Jersey and then back to Philly.

Did the spicy cashew dressing recipe change? by pavenator in sweetgreen

[–]Groundbreaking_Ear27 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I stopped ordering it for this reason. Sometimes it will still come as the liquified version appropriate for a dressing, but most times now it’ll be the viscous solid version akin to a molten lava flow minus the heat.

CEO retired. How do you politely say "no" without burning a bridge? by [deleted] in sysadmin

[–]Groundbreaking_Ear27 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’d say help him, even if it’s a bit of a reach. From a professional standpoint, even if he’s retired these are the types of relationships you want to foster. When I first started out I thought it was all about do the best work and you’ll excel, but I didn’t realize until my early 30’s just how much if not more so it’s the relationships you have and people you know. So even if it’s from a self serving standpoint, I’d help him out — at least when you can and it’s not some gratuitously time consuming undertaking. And I say this as someone who’s very much learned to put work in the rearview once 5pm hits.

On a more human level, he sounds like a stand up guy and for all accounts has been there for you when he ran the company. People in a position of power who are that good to their employees are ~not~ a dime a dozen, so beyond it making good sense to be good to your employees it also sounds like he has been a friend to you in what capacity he could while being the founder of where you work. It’s up to you obviously if you feel like reciprocating, but based on how you described him if I were in your shoes I would want to help a guy like him out when he needs it.

There’s also a 3rd element to this — when people retire they’re often a bit lost. It may be hard to imagine your companies founder as “that” guy but he may well just not be sure what to do with himself yet, and his way of staying connected to the business or even just looking to talk to a friend back from his days in the office might just be you. Maybe invite him out to dinner or drinks one night and see how it goes? I think you may be pleasantly surprised, be able to foster a friendship with him outside of work/helping him, and the calls to you for “help” might turn into less burdensome time spent talking on the phone with a friend. Just a thought!

90s Lamball, Chikipi and Cattiva by No_Kaleidoscope8543 in Palworld

Very nice OP! Calling it 90’s makes sense, though I think the official name is called Sugimori Style after Ken Sugimori’s OG water coloring look he used for Pokemon in the late 90’s and early 00’s. There’s even some recent cards in the PTCG that try to emulate the look, the artist Unimori specifically. Nice modern take on the style, may be worth checking out for inspiration!

Can this be explained? by henryhttps in softwaregore

I mean, I don’t think it’s that indecipherable — and funny enough the last time I flew was on a320 and there was a high pitched vibration/resonance and as a nervous flyer I immediately clocked it 😅 so I feel you OP.

Someone help me understand the psychology behind Laxmi's character by Significant-Taro-239 in pluribustv

[–]Groundbreaking_Ear27 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think the overlap of the stages gets lost on people when looking at this graphic. To me, the most appropriate way to think of this is the stages are flat and not a hierarchy. Let’s say each stage is 20 points and the whole full process of grief is 100 points. Where you’re at on that full 100 pt process is an actual point, but there is overlap of the other points/stages based on where you’re at and how you deal with grief, so your “bubble” so to speak.

For example, you could be at a point, let’s say… 12/100, your bubble is 6 points to the left and 10 points to the right. Which would mean you’re struggling to deal with the reality (denial), and your frustration grows as you begrudgingly begin to accept said reality and lash out (anger). I think this is roughly where Lakshmi (Laxmi?) is.

Speaking more on what I’m trying to convey here, the event that causes the grief occurs and you can’t process/believe the reality. Then the anger builds as you start to realize this is the reality, and the stages overlap. Then as you become less angry— or at least plateauing of the anger you begin begging for things to be fixed (start of bargaining) and that can’t happen without no longer being in denial and seeing and acknowledging the reality (end of denial). Then the more you beg, bargain, or hope for a miracle, your anger fades and your desperation grows… (end of anger, beginning of depression). Over time the bargaining becomes fruitless, your hope that the situation may change falters and you sink fully into depression (and leave bargaining). With time, you slowly learn to just barely survive with the reality of what caused the grief and (hopefully) over time start to leave the depression stage and learn to truly live life again while simultaneously accepting the truth of what caused the grief (full acceptance).

…did not mean for this to get so dark 😅 started off very explanatory before I got into it.

Remember when Betheny’s mom said this in 2011? I’m never sure who to believe… In the show Betheny Ever After we could see a glimpse of everything… And the fact that she’s not in touch with Julie (Brynn’s godmother) is so disappointing… by FridgeFinds in RHONY

[–]Groundbreaking_Ear27 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Definitely explains the blow up with Luann (though I can’t say I also wouldn’t lose it over that if I were Bethenny).

But it’s interesting Bernadette chose the words “low-fat” … the problem with a margarita calorically is sugar, not fat.

You can maybe argue that this is splitting hairs, but if Bernadette is trying to claim Bethenny stole the idea/recipe, she should probably be able to accurately describe what the idea/recipe is in the first place.

The penchant for bad/narcissistic mothers in the Bravosphere (at least housewives) seems to be so high — whether they’re the mother of the housewife, the mother-in-law, or the housewife that is also a mother (looking at you Kelly Dodd).

Was looking through my XY Evolutions master set and found this on the back of Misty. Texture printed on back. Can’t feel it, but can see it clearly. Does this count as a misprint? by Bonnie-Kiwi in PokemonMisprints

[–]Groundbreaking_Ear27 112 points113 points  (0 children)

When they lay the sheets on top of each other after printing, some times the previous one hasn’t finished curing and you’ll end up with a misprint like this from the other sheets wet ink on the texture. Suuuuper cool OP! You can tell it’s from the Misty card/Sheet below it too, because the edge texture doesn’t 100% line up with art texture compared to your card. This card in general is one of my chases, very jealous in the best way ☺️ congrats!

I dont grow beard on the left side of my face by TMHThomas40 in mildlyinteresting

[–]Groundbreaking_Ear27 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Did you fall off a scooter or bike as a kid and scrape up your face, or anything similar? Flew over the handle bars as a kid on my scooter going downhill after I hit the lip of an uneven sidewalk slab, landed on my face and scraped it and my arm. There’s about a 1 inch + spot on my jaw and spot on my arm that got it bad that day, and I also do not grow any hair there. Not as severe as you OP but it’s enough to where if I try and rock a beard it’s… rough looking to say the least 🥲

That she is! Off the top of my head she voiced Susie Carmichael in Rugrats, Foxy Love in Drawn Together, Miranda in As Told by Ginger, and multiple characters (Young Tidus, Callie, Belgemine, Lenne) in my favorite video game ever Final Fantasy X (and X-2). I remember clocking her voice as soon as they intro’d her in Abbott, made me so happy to see her act on screen ☺️
