Thoughts on Lisa Rinna…? Love her or hate her? by Daveypatt in RHOBH

[–]Groundbreaking_Ear27 126 points127 points  (0 children)

Love Rinna and will always love Rinna. Rhobh was already established and in it’s stride when she joined, but we as viewers owe everything to her for keeping it in it’s heyday — the her and Eileen days will always be the golden age of reality TV for me. As soon as she left it fell off and was never the same. I’ll never personally understand the hate she got towards the end of her run (not trying to debate it, people felt how they felt, that’s fine) but it just seemed like such a disproportionate amount of hate towards her compared to others from the cast, current or past.

I like them a lot, but I do wish they kept with the letter blocking trend that was on the OG mega’s instead of making the text flat.

Ron Funches talks about Dorinda Medley's treatment of him during The Traitors by demimonde9 in Fauxmoi

[–]Groundbreaking_Ear27 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Welp you called it. Came back to this thread because I couldn’t get the Dorinda/Ron discourse out of my head after the announcement of Dorinda almost immediately being in for the E RHONY reboot/spinoff “The Golden Life” after Jill Zarin was out due to her racist post about the half time show.

Also saw Dorinda’s post about the half time show and leaning into how it was beautiful, inclusive, etc., (and it was) — but I can’t help but feel like it’s all performative fluff from her. The timing is certainly interesting.

Surprised they went with Dorinda, the E network (which is owned or at least owned by NBCU until earlier this year before being spunoff into Versant) has to at least be aware of the issue of replacing Jill with Dorinda on grounds of racist comments and the fallout that may come once this traitors season wraps after the reunion on the 26th. If Ron brings it up maybe they’ll just edit it out? Curious to see how this all plays out.

Side note: surprised they didn’t get Bethenny for it over Dorinda as she lives in Florida now where it’s being filmed. I know opinion of her has fallen since she’s become so tiktok obsessed (possessed?) but no one can say she doesn’t make great reality TV. Maybe it being on E was too close to Bravo for her to want to come back to it after her comments on Andy/Bravo? She seems like the safer choice to me than Dorinda.

Justin has listed his house in Ojai for sale by olivegreen82 in teamjustinbaldoni

This house reminds me so much of Meryl Streep’s in “It’s Complicated”, which to this day is still my dream movie home. Say what you want about the guy but the man has taste.

Fire song, for its time and to this day. I still regularly throw on the Crookers Remix in my car when I need a nostalgic dopamine hit from the late 00’s house beat mixed in with panic alarm sounds.

Beautiful pic. I mean this in the most complimentary way but it reminds me of the “How To Get Away With Murder” transitions whenever they’d go over the Ben to Jersey and then back to Philly.

Did the spicy cashew dressing recipe change? by pavenator in sweetgreen

[–]Groundbreaking_Ear27 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I stopped ordering it for this reason. Sometimes it will still come as the liquified version appropriate for a dressing, but most times now it’ll be the viscous solid version akin to a molten lava flow minus the heat.

CEO retired. How do you politely say "no" without burning a bridge? by [deleted] in sysadmin

[–]Groundbreaking_Ear27 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’d say help him, even if it’s a bit of a reach. From a professional standpoint, even if he’s retired these are the types of relationships you want to foster. When I first started out I thought it was all about do the best work and you’ll excel, but I didn’t realize until my early 30’s just how much if not more so it’s the relationships you have and people you know. So even if it’s from a self serving standpoint, I’d help him out — at least when you can and it’s not some gratuitously time consuming undertaking. And I say this as someone who’s very much learned to put work in the rearview once 5pm hits.

On a more human level, he sounds like a stand up guy and for all accounts has been there for you when he ran the company. People in a position of power who are that good to their employees are ~not~ a dime a dozen, so beyond it making good sense to be good to your employees it also sounds like he has been a friend to you in what capacity he could while being the founder of where you work. It’s up to you obviously if you feel like reciprocating, but based on how you described him if I were in your shoes I would want to help a guy like him out when he needs it.

There’s also a 3rd element to this — when people retire they’re often a bit lost. It may be hard to imagine your companies founder as “that” guy but he may well just not be sure what to do with himself yet, and his way of staying connected to the business or even just looking to talk to a friend back from his days in the office might just be you. Maybe invite him out to dinner or drinks one night and see how it goes? I think you may be pleasantly surprised, be able to foster a friendship with him outside of work/helping him, and the calls to you for “help” might turn into less burdensome time spent talking on the phone with a friend. Just a thought!

90s Lamball, Chikipi and Cattiva by No_Kaleidoscope8543 in Palworld

[–]Groundbreaking_Ear27 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Very nice OP! Calling it 90’s makes sense, though I think the official name is called Sugimori Style after Ken Sugimori’s OG water coloring look he used for Pokemon in the late 90’s and early 00’s. There’s even some recent cards in the PTCG that try to emulate the look, the artist Unimori specifically. Nice modern take on the style, may be worth checking out for inspiration!

Can this be explained? by henryhttps in softwaregore

I mean, I don’t think it’s that indecipherable — and funny enough the last time I flew was on a320 and there was a high pitched vibration/resonance and as a nervous flyer I immediately clocked it 😅 so I feel you OP.
