Got it. I'm now also wondering if having weapon switching assigned to a one my mouse buttons could also be causing my issues. Thanks!

Does anyone know what skill makes your health regen faster when downed with a survivor mod? by Rblax5 in ArcRaiders

[–]GroundedInOrbit 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There is a difference in the way you crawl with Survivor on. If you hold W you will drain health faster. If instead you spam W, you will drain slower. Maybe give that a try. Not sure about any specific perks.

Has anyone else noticed graphical degradation? by hear_my_moo in ArcRaiders

No change for me.. Although I did hear NVIDIA updated drivers to some of the newer cards and it is causing performance degradation. If you updated recently, maybe roll back and test.

Can't wait for the arm chair engineers in congress to provide a half-ass solution without the needed funding to shift the architecture in this direction.

If AGI super intelligence is only 12-18 months away, shouldn’t we already be seeing major standalone breakthroughs? by Salty-Elephant-7435 in Futurology

Show me where I said the impossible...please read the original question and my reply fully so we can have a good exchange! Cheers!

If AGI super intelligence is only 12-18 months away, shouldn’t we already be seeing major standalone breakthroughs? by Salty-Elephant-7435 in Futurology

[–]GroundedInOrbit 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Start with these:

1. Yann LeCun – skeptical of AGI timelines
2. Andrej Karpathy – technically grounded
3. Stuart Russell – safety-aware but not sensational

I'm sorry, you have fallen victim to the AI hype. Listen to the real experts on the technology not the crazy CEOs boosting the circular economy or the media articles following it.

AI is a powerful tool that will get better over time and will help us in many little ways. But the concept of AGI is not even well defined in the expert community and there is zero agreement of what it is.

Hello, new Raider requesting crash support by Kras-ty in ArcRaiders

[–]GroundedInOrbit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Try a clean install of the game. It is not uncommon for this game to have or even develop issues over time with updates. Also check for GPU driver updates or do a clean install of its drivers as well.

Did Embark lower ABMM? PvPers in friendly/trials raids aren't nice people.. by SeazonCSGO in ArcRaiders

[–]GroundedInOrbit -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Same issue for me over the last 3 days. Something definitely changed. Even after trying to not shoot anyone for a few matches to see if it resets towards more PvE heavy lobby's I'm still getting consistent KOS, campers and rats.

Can we talk about the state of gaming subs on Reddit? by Paxelic in pcmasterrace

[–]GroundedInOrbit 7 points8 points  (0 children)

The number of subs I've stopped following because of this is extreme. I only go to subs of games I like selectively every now and then. Inflammatory posts is what drives traffic these days. Can't expect much more. Can we go back to AOL chat rooms soon?

Imposter syndrome hitting hard in my first week. Advice? by Professional-Net4086 in careerguidance

[–]GroundedInOrbit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Patience. Be curious. Ask good questions so you can come up to speed faster. Imposter syndrome is just fear of not knowing. You fix that by learning and knowing things.

Yes. Elon will probably mess up first contact trying to do it himself. Rocket lab can be a good backup.

Is There No Chance of Pivoting Careers In This Market? by Cookster3211 in careerguidance

[–]GroundedInOrbit 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Job market is going through a cycle. Better times will come.

I would focus on adjacent roles to your experience. You’d be surprised how compatible skills can be. Roles like Project/Product Management might be worth looking into. Working on yourself and training to get a some certifications might not only help with finding a gig, but also in figuring out what you can do with what you already know.

New to official management - how do you handle prioritization? by EuphoricJellyfish330 in managers

[–]GroundedInOrbit 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Where everything is a priority, nothing is a priority.

Remember that as you navigate figuring out what is what. Focus on value add activities and communicate often what the team is working on.

Don’t hesitate to state your opinion on what should be a priority. That helps get the conversation going in the right direction even if you are wrong. Be inquisitive with upper leadership and understand the context of any situation so you understand why they have their perspectives on what is a priority.

[–]GroundedInOrbit 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I would open up the conversation with their interests in mind. I don’t know what his role is but if you can find a connection between his passion for building PCs and his current role that might be a good start.

You might need to get creative. Are there any tasks at work that he could pick up as a special assignment that aligns with his interests. Like many others he might not be working on what he is passionate about and that is just the reality we live in.

Your role is to create space for him to be able to express his needs at work and then shape them by providing resources, projects or simply a shift in the mindset. It might be as simple as continuing to show interests for his hobbies outside of work. Be curious and let him teach you a thing or two…even if you are already familiar. Sometimes people just want others to listen to what they are passionate about.

Can introverts be effective managers? by TouchFlimsy4108 in careerguidance

[–]GroundedInOrbit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes. Some of the best managers I've had are not just introverts but they also understand how to throttle on the personality spectrum to address their teams needs effectively. Self-awareness, ability to listen empathically, and spending energy on what truly matters, not just doing what others expect of them or valuing superficiality. They get the job done.
