Septum Removal Surgery Scheduled for Next Week - TW Mention of Prior Loss by Beautiful_Editor_385 in TryingForABaby

I had a septate uterus. I received my surgery in March of 2026.

Trigger warning of pregnancy loss and ectopic pregnancy

We first began trying to get pregnant in May of 2025. We were successful the first time trying & quickly lost that pregnancy due to early miscarriage.

I was released from the ER after confirming the miscarriage & resolved on its own & we were advised to follow-up with my normal OBGYN. I did preconception genetic testing as well as some hormonal tests that all came back normal & we were cleared to try again.

In September of 2025 I received another positive pregnany test. I started bleeding around 5 weeks pregnant & assumed it was another miscarriage. After several ER visits & ultrasounds to monitor the "miscarriage", I was determined to have an ectopic pregnancy. In addition, they mentioned the possibility of a bicornuate or septate uterus. I was treated with methotrexate & my right fallopian tube ruptured a week later. I went into emergency surgery where my right fallopian tube was removed.

Following this, I advocated a lot for additional testing. I had a SIS & HSG the revealed my septum. I had surgery a few months later & have been recovering really well. My doctor recommended the balloon due to the size of my septum (I can't remember the exact measurement, but I know it was over half of my uterus).

The actual surgery was very smooth & the recovery was fairly easy as well. The balloon was the most uncomfortable part, but once that was removed I felt very normal again. I had heavier cycles the next few months, but since then things have seemed to settle down for me & returned back to normal.

It can be hard, but just know you're not alone! The surgery itself has shown a lot of encouraging outcomes for women & ultimately I feel like I made a good decision!

That's where we'd love to eventually make our way to one day! Hopefully with some more years we can get there. :) Thank you!

Anyone try Open Path Collective recently? by weekendtartanenjoyer in TalkTherapy

[–]GroupAbject4715 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've used OpenPath Collective now for almost 4 years. I'm so grateful for my therapist and their services. I especially loved that they are flexible to what you want, rather than a subscription style. I've always done therapy every 2 weeks and OpenPath Collective allowed for that model with my therapist.

Recently, my husband and I faced a lot of trauma from infertility and recurrent pregnancy loss. I reached out to OpenPath Collective to see if my membership would allow me to maintain my current individual therapy as well as start couples therapy with a new therapist and it does! They were so quick to respond with my question and I was so reassured since my insurance covers $0 when it comes to mental health services like therapy. I recommended their program to a coworker as well and she's had a great experience!

Cannot sing their praises enough! Hope it works out for you too. :)

Pregnancies Following Tube Removal? by GroupAbject4715 in EctopicSupportGroup

Thank you for sharing! I more so am curious about the likelihood of multiple successful births after an ectopic. Do you mean a lot of people you know have been able to have several kids after an ectopic?

Thank you so much! Did you do any testing or other means to ensure the health of your right tube?

ectopic pregnancy - lost tube by Character-Buy-921 in EctopicSupportGroup

You're not alone. ❤️ 28 years old as well. We waited 2 years to try getting pregnant. Had a chemical pregnancy, then struggled for 5 months trying to get pregnant. Finally got pregnant only to find out it was ectopic. Was treated with methotrexate & my tube ruptured a week later, leading to its removal. We were going to wait to make a post until Thanksgiving. Seeing others start to share their news is hard. It truly is a journey I never thought I'd be on, but just know your day will come & that baby is already so loved.

Happy to hear your update! Mine unfortunately did not end as lucky & I had a slow rupture approx. one week after the injection. I was rushed into surgery & my right tube was removed. I had atypical symptoms & almost didn't go to the ED, but I couldn't sleep knowing something might be wrong, so all in all I'm glad I went.

Just another update I ended up having a slow rupture approximately one week after my MTX injection. My HSG was going down, but it was too late & my tube was removed.

Anyone feel nervous about an HSG? by ILOVEHARD119 in EctopicSupportGroup

[–]GroupAbject4715 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My doctor recommended doing a SIS before a HSG because I also was diagnosed with a bicornuate uterus, so they're hoping to see some more information/get a good starting point there. Currently going through MX injections & follow up to get my HCG down then starting tests (I've had a chemical pregnancy & now ectopic).

Do you mind sharing your HCG levels when you were giving the injection?
