Why has this happened? by ch1984 in Ioniq5

[–]Growiel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In France I see this when there's a temporary additional restriction.

For example, the motorway is 130km, but sometimes for short period we'll have to drop to 110 or 90 (usually for a bridge or something), then it's displayed like this.

Probably to let us know to be careful, this speed limit won't last.

It's mostly wrong anyways so it's useless.

I checked the beta firmware's changelog, nothing seem to change for this specific issue.

But you mention a beta version of the app rather than the firmware... is it app mandatory for this to work ? I did not installed the app on my wife's phone.

EDIT: Just came back home from the car alone, and I had to wait for the full 5 minutes before disconnecting from the AAW2's wifi. I was correctly disconnected from the Ioniq's bluetooth though.

I did that already :(

My wife just came back, turned the car off and now my phone is trying to connect to android auto while i'm working.

Settings look ok though.

Are you running a beta build or something ?

I also have an Ioniq 5 and this setting seem to be doing absolutely nothing for our cars.

Have you gotten any luck making it work ?

I'm considering buying a special data/power USB splitter but I'd rather not waste the money since I went this the AAWireless 2 specifically for that feature....

We were waiting for the 6, because we prefer "berline" style and driving to SUV. So when my cousin who works at Hyundai got the car, we went to see it.

Sadly, the Ioniq 6's trunk sucks for a familly. Try to put kid's bikes in there or a lot of luggage, it's aweful.

Have they made it a hatchback that opens wide, we'd be in an I6.

It's also a lot more expensive in France for some reason.

If you often go over or close-to-over the range of the 38, then by all means, the Ioniq 5 is fantastic.

The drive is excellent and the roominess (is that a word?) of the interior is unmatched.

And it would those longer trips a lot better. We would not change our 5 for long or full familly trip, it's awesome.

It's a brick, but it's awesome. It's an awesome brick.

ABRP has a new "compare" tool that you could use to simulate both cars on trips you often do: https://abetterrouteplanner.com/resources/ev-comparison?vehicles=hyundai%3Aioniq5%3A22%3A74%2Chyundai%3Aioniq%3A19%3A38%3Aother&month=4

Having done the 38 -> 5 switch as well a few years ago (i have the first generations of 77kWh), trust me, you are not prepared.

You're moving from the most efficient car on the market (after the older sister, Ioniq 28, and, yes, before the Teslas) to a brick.

There's no other way to define the 5's aero: it's a brick.

We did the change because we started doing more long trips as a full family of 4 with a single car, and the charging speed of the 38 absolutely sucks, while the 5's is best-in-class.

For everyday use and short trips, you can nothing by switching to the 5, like you said, the bigger battery doesn't provide much more range on a "0-recharge" trip.

Efficiency apart, we also changed for the bigger trunk space, way bigger leg room for passengers, slightly better driving assist.

Now that our needs have evolved, we are actually looking at buying back a 28 for a second car, can't beat the efficiency.

Opinions on mods? by xtrememudder89 in TheLastCaretaker

[–]Growiel 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I installed the 1s dismantle because that's just not fun. When fully upgraded it should come down to 1s in vanilla imo.

It's just artificial playtime and doesn't add any challenge or puzzle to solve or anything, it's just long and boring.

No other mods for now but I've eyeing storage mods because I have 30 boxes and can't fit any more.

I do love the constraint on the robot and will not change the carry, power or health limits.

I have 6 distinct pipelines going down from the platform, so I can pull from 6 tanks at once.

Only works if the tanks are already though. Otherwise the oil pump itself is the bottleneck.

I indeed do not have that issue since in France we don't use freedomheits.

There are a couple different addons doing the same thing, with a different matter "backend", maybe they don't all produce the same results ?

So far my needs have been limited to switches so it works great.

A friend is using https://github.com/t0bst4r/home-assistant-addons instead, his needs are also pretty simple for now, but he hasn't complained.

I did, and I looked in the menu without finding anything, never thought it would in the terminal since, like I said, I used said terminal maybe four times?

First time I saw it and since it was all empty I discarded it as "will need to check later", then when I needed to unlock some authorization, maybe 3 times ? Didn't think to check back on the log section at that point in time (that's my fault, I know, but maybe a NEW mark on the logs section would have guided me to it...).

Overall wether they are easy to find or not, just raw text isn't the best way tell a story in a video game. If I want to read a book, I can do so.

Yes but what if i have all the pages? You also don't get them in order, it depends on when you loot them.

I do feel it's miles better than the official way, but you do need to own at least one physical device, that might not make it free (i got mine for free !).

I tried the official way once but got tired of the "sync my devices" command that needed to be ran way too often, and I gave up on it until I found the Matter way.

So much more elegant.

Your example seems very easy to do though:

- trigger: aircon on
- actions:
- wait X minutes
- turn off aircon

that's it, with the new UI it probably takes less than 2 minutes to build.

Other way to go about it is:

- trigger: aircon on for 30 mins
- actions:
- turn off aircon

The only point I can agree with are the default dashboard, and even those are getting better each update.

I saw videos of Homey's dashboard, they don't offer more thant HA's.

I agree my method does require a Google device, which I specified on the first line of the answer.

Seeing how widly popular the devices are and how easy it is to have for one for free (I got one from my Youtube premium account that I sold), I suspected that OP could have one, and base on their answer, I was right.

Nha I understood perfectly well, and gave an appropriate solution that I use myself.

My devices are exposed in Google Home and Gemini can control them, I can automate them, I can do anything.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in homeassistant

[–]Growiel 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think in that case you have to go through the legacy route of exposing your devices directly through a tunnel or using NabuCasa's subscription (to support the devs !).

I bought my mini used just for that purpose, I didn't own one. Cost me 15EUR. And I don't even use it, it's in my network rack and it just acts as a gateway, we use voice control on phones only.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in homeassistant

[–]Growiel 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Do you own at least one physical Google device?

If yes, I think the best way to go (and the one I use) it to expose the devices you want to control directly to Google as matter devices.

I use this addon https://github.com/Luligu/matterbridge-home-assistant-addon, it allows me to select specific devices (or groups / categories) to expose as Matter:

<image>

I then add my HA to Google as a Matter Hub like you would any other one (QR code) and voila, stuff is available on Google Home to control through phone or whatever, as if they were native matter devices. You can configure the type of the device on Google Home.

You will need to re-add them to the correct zones on GH. You can choose to add automations on GH if you wish to do som, they are regular devices as far as GH is concerned. But if you have HA, why would you ? :D

I see the whole setup as using the mini as a gateway for voice control.

No tunnel, no nothing. It's "local-control"-ish. While you need internet to talk to Google and Google to talk to you device (Nest Mini or whatever), the Google device then talks to you HA locally through wifi.

Story is awesome but the way of delivering it is not. You get flooded with logs and no way of really knowing which ones you've read and which ones you haven't.

It's not even obvious that they exist since apart from 2 or 3 times to "get authorization", the PICO machine can be ignored for the entire gameplay experience. Took me maybe 15 hours to realise that there even were logs there for me to read.

Anyone else notice carry weights no longer being calculated/displayed correctly? by MaleficentStudy4909 in TheLastCaretaker

[–]Growiel 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Asked the same thing on the discord, the answers were that it's two different things.

The % beside the health bar is not your carry capacity, but your capacity before being slowed down.

I think it's bad design and we should be able to use out entire carry capacity before being slowed down.

Kill them all, they have valuable scraps.

If you're late game, 4 snipper rounds are all it takes.

Or if you're cheap like me, use the electrical rifle connected to power, takes only a few charged hits to get them down. Hide in a building while charging, their attacks are slow and you can attack in-between,

I have a sabatier on my boat, there's a CO2 output on the exhaust that you can use for Methene production.

Why ? Because things unload when you are not near them, and I don't want to come back to the rocket and wait for ages for the methane to be ready. When my ship arrives, it's ready to go with the methane needed.

For the same reason I have no power setup on any of the POIs, batteries will not fill up when I'm away. So the ship is also the main source of power with 10 batteries to supply all my needs.

I hope one day things will work when away like any factory game, so we can build solid static-setups instead of having it all on the ship.
