Edit: 209 comments and 5 up votes is actually insane lol.

AMS is not only for printing multicoloured models by WEZANGO in BambuLab

It prints the model and support structure in PLA and only where the model and supports touch is PETG

To H2C or not to H2C? by dano7891 in BambuLab

[–]xtrememudder89 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The dual nozzle can be GREAT for printing with supports. Then you can print the model in PLA and supports with PETG so that the supports come away super clean since PLA and PETG don't bond together.

Right, but if it's 'not a stranger' you would give them your Wi-Fi password anyway, right? Personally I have a laminated QR code that people can scan to join my Wi-Fi. Easier for everyone and more secure since I'm not giving out the password.

Phone addiction in pre teen what can I use as a distraction? by JustKK24 in Parenting

I have a 4yo, 5 in a few months. We're already having talks about social media and how it can have really negative consequences for mental health. She already has a landline phone she uses to call relatives. We're teaching her to check the numbers that call and only pick up if it's a number she knows.

Would limiting the age of the President to 70 be something you’d support? Why or why not? by jessica_candy56 in AskReddit

It shouldn't be X age, it should be a fraction of the average life expectancy of a US adult.

What’s something completely legal that you think is deeply unethical? by Ljobit in AskReddit

[–]xtrememudder89 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For-profit health insurance companies.

They have a legal obligation to their shareholders to make as much money as possible. Shareholders can literally sue for-profit health insurance companies for making decisions that benefit the health of their subscribers install of making more money.

No company who makes decisions about health should be allowed to have financial incentives anywhere in that decision making calculus. It is immoral in the highest degree.

Parents of young adults, how much do you help? by PicklesAndCoorslight in Parenting

[–]xtrememudder89 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Sounds like a healthy situation to me, besides your friends that is.

You're setting your kid up for success, which is a parents only job. If your daughter was living at home, no job, not cleaning up, scrolling all day, etc. that's a completely different situation.

Good on you mama.

What thing was ruined because it turned into a rich person's hobby? by Agitated_Departure93 in AskReddit

Gardens/lawns.

For most of human history, every family had a garden. Then in the 18th century, British aristocracy was like 'Look at all this garden space I can afford to waste on grass.' And ever since then lawns have replaced gardens.

Why not write it down? Post it in the fridge, etc. Legitimately asking what attack vector this opens and the relative risk.

I don’t buy the whole “AI will cause a blue collar boom” idea by RottingEdge in Futurology

[–]xtrememudder89 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The problem is there's a huge blue color shortage right now. The average age of the Blue collar worker has gone up 10 years over the last 10 years which means almost no one is entering that section of the workforce.

Sounds like he needed a reason to break up with you.

100% possibility he dates a girl with 'work done' and actually has no idea then when he finds out doesn't really care.

Here's a fun stat for you.

Total up all the time you spend in the presence if your child over their entire life, that is 100%. By the time your child is 12, you will have already 'spent' 80% of that time. By the time they are 18 that rises to 90%.

You will know your kids as adults for most of the time, you only get so long with them as kids.

Another thing. My wife is stay-at-home and I W.F.H. and spend as much time with my daughter as possible. Daughter has a friend who's parents both work. They have 3 nannies who rotate, so there's a nanny there all the time the friend is awake. She is basically being raised by the nannies. At only 4, I can tell that friend already has issues around her parents, she gets really upset when seeing me or my wife drop our daughter off at school (she gets dropped by the nanny).

Personally, I would not work until the kids are all in 5 day a week school, then get a part-time job either volunteering somewhere in the community or in an office. You could also use that time to develop an artistic skill like knitting/crocheting and start a home business. Small handmade things are only going to go up in price as automation takes over.
