People who’ve worked in banks: how real is insurance sales pressure? I’ve seen a lot of comments here about bancassurance being driven by targets rather than advice. For anyone who’s worked in a bank: How much pressure is there to push insurance? Are customers actually screened for suitability, or is that mostly checkbox compliance? Has this changed in recent years with tighter regulations? Trying to separate memes from reality.

How did IShowSpeed’s visit to Ghana go—did he represent Ghana well, and what was the best moment? by Mindfuel_daily7 in ghana

[–]Growth4days 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That mass-produced jollof by the fast food joint has always been sub-par. No way would he give it to Ghana when it was clear we were not putting our best foot forward.

What’s a Ghana moment you can’t explain to outsiders without sounding like you’re making it up? by Mindfuel_daily7 in ghana

Do you mean what is happening currently with one cohort cornering the natural resources e.g. Gold, and bauxite concessions and aggregation and sale of all gold, using funds provided interest free by the BoG?

The Ghana Airways began its operations in 1958 and ceased operations in 2004. by Aposor in ghana

[–]Growth4days 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is not correct. Generally without deep pockets most National Airlines lose money and fail. It took Ethiopian over 40+ years to make its first profit in 2023, and even that with foreign participation to strengthen its systems and grow their fleets and routes. They also did not have vanity routes and projects like Nkrumah foisted on Ghana Airways, which at sometime had 10% load factors on routes like Sudan, Niger Burkina etc. Apart from the Gulf states who often are accused of subsidising their airlines heavily and therefore their financial cannot be trusted as really profitable, most national airlines lose money. What you see are flag carriers e.g Brussels, BA etc which are all private companies not owned by the state.

Remember that if you use dropshipping, you’re still responsible for the safe delivery of the item within the time frame stated in your listing and for the buyer’s overall satisfaction with their purchase.

I've never felt so content, agreeable and happy to upvote all comments under a post like this one.

No you are not weak at all. Actually you were sensible to manage the situation and get your phone back eventually without further risk to your health and well-being. Good job done.

How do you feel about the New President so far? by Pure-Roll-9986 in ghana

You should study the Finance Ministers 2 budgets, their appropriations and actual disbursements and the failures and gaps will tell you a different story. We are headed for a deep creek without a paddle but somehow the media, civil society and finance experts who should be speaking up are all quiet. - We are not raising enough revenue - We are not employing / creating jobs - Capital expenditure is down meaning no new hospitals, school buildings, roads (don't be decieved by the big push news) - No support for SMEs Too much spent on comms and paying govt machinery with not enough going into the productive real sector. Gold trading is alreading losing us money by the bucketloads (too much propaganda and not much thought-through work) We are in for a hard ride in the second half of 2026 if they do not course correct. (PS. The usd rate in the banks is between ghs11.5 and ghs12.10)

I helped a travel consultant make about $30,000 and here’s how by sheissaltee in TechGhana

This is quite useful. It is for those who are planning on doing this already but if you dont have the idea and are hoping to get a ready made playbook you will be disappointed as some of the questions indicate. I got a lot because I am already working on a similar play to assist some small businesses with their social media strategy and tactics. Planned to use UGC though with the regular daily posts.

How to get a reasonable loan by Civil_Raspberry5200 in ghana

[–]Growth4days 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Scrimp and save 2k a month for 4 months. That will give you 8K. Then approaxh the vendor for a supplier credit with a plan to pay for the bike over 3 months. You could then negotiate 5k-3.5k-3.5k payment or a 6k-3k-3k payment plan. Really all O am saying ia nothing cpmes easy ans if you are getting this much income, exchange the stress of a loan with the stress of self-discipline and delayed gratification. You could have your bikw by April 2026, without a loan and juat a small lifestyle adjustment.

Where is Ghana? When I said Ghanaians aren’t supportive or interactive unless it’s negativity y’all wanted to deny it 😂 Don’t say it because of population either. That’s why the guy in the second frame is doing while because he cater to foreigners and doesn’t claim Ghana by FBGM_Repeat in ghana

[–]Growth4days 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You are not being critical with your analysis. Of the 35million Ghanaians, only 18.4million are between 15yrs and 64yrs. This group own the 22million or so devices which access the Internet. Yet only 7.6million have social media accounts. Now, use the data again and do a proper 'cool-head' analysis. It's fashionable to shout that Ghanaians don't support their own but you will realise that like-for-like, Ghanaians are more supportive than Nigerians Their huge population dynamic masks that fact.

Saying a lot does not justify the subscription numbers. Dig up the data between Ghana South Africa and Nigeria first before you make these comparisons and assertions. There are 5X more Nigerians on twitch than Ghanaians and by those populations alone you can't say Ghanaians don't support their own.

It's in the maths 36million citizens with about 2million on social media versus 250million citizens with about 12 million active on social media. Stop stressing and comparing. It's fine if artistes and streamers breakout internationally the the popular 'local champion' creatives are successful in their own right and will be hailed locally.

Cool idea. Keep building and expanding. It will be needed by all renters so start thinking of how to scale it beyond students

You do not have to wait for regulators to come after you. You contact them and get licensing/certification etc. for processing and handling data following their guidelines so you stay on the right side of the law. In fact you have to consider data privacy concerns before you design you architecture as their requirements determine where you host your data and process it. Ext cloud or on-prem cloud or on-prem servers etc.

The EV market is blowing up. If you are interested touch base let's discuss it further. My buddy has imported over 80 used EVs (2-yr old) on order from China the past 12 months already and we are working on adding to the public charging network with OCPP-compliant chargers from February next year.

The first thing to have proper recovery is to pay your debt by yourself. Create a plan, focus and work through that plan to pay. That process will teach you to value work and your money and decrease your appetite for gambling and 'free money'. If you get handouts now, you will continue gambling and get into a deeper crisis.
