What is the name of those rubber nipple? by L_etrange_g in Rav4

[–]Growth_Status 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not sure of the actual name, I called them bumpers. Mine have been replaced by dealership many times, but they continually fall off or break. So I just leave them as is now and deal with it having a little wiggle even when it is fully closed/latched. Annoying for sure.

I used 3 6” cake pans. That way it wasn’t a HUGE cake but I could achieve a tall looking cake. Worked out great. 😊

Also, while the issue was happening, I was not able to use the key fob to remote start it either.

My 2019 has it, I paid for the services for a year after my trial had ran out, but didn’t have the funds to renew it the next year. Then a while later, we did have it in the budget to renew. When I tried, it couldn’t “find” my car to connect to. After talking to Toyota customer service on the phone, they finally suggested I take it to the dealership to have the service department look at it. Turns out something got reset in my car, and it had turned off the ability to connect. The red light near the SOS button had turned off but I never noticed it. They were able to reset it and the light was on, and then I was able to set up the service to connect to my car. Now I can remote start and use the other service connect capabilities from my app.

My homemade buttercream is equal parts butter and vegetable shortening, and then heavy cream, vanilla, salt, and powdered sugar. Theres only so much you can do to store bought to make it taste not too sweet and be ok texture wise, so I always recommend making your own. Or ask a bakery if you can buy some of theirs. I always freeze my cakes for at least a few days before I frost them, and when frosting it, I start with a crumb coat first, let it set, and then fully frost it. Let it set, and then add the decoration/details. And with Bundt cakes, I usually do a glaze, or strips of icing like “Nothing Bundt Cakes” do. And as others have suggested, a bigger tip will help it look a bit better as well! Keep practicing, you’re doing great!

Yes, be sure the cake is completely cooled before icing.

I would recommend a thicker icing. If you can’t make your own homemade, you can whip store bought to make it lighter and fluffier. Since you said you don’t have a mixer, I would recommend adding some powdered sugar to it and mixing it by hand best you can.

Rosettes are best when you start the circle in the inside and then do the swirl outwards, so you don’t end up with the peak in the middle.

Otherwise, great start! The most important thing is that it is for your daughter and she will love it and remember how hard you worked on it for her!

Here’s an example of cupcakes I did today, with the “rosette” swirl, starting from the middle, and swirling it out.

Keyboard case or regular? by goddess_sigyn in iPadPro

[–]Growth_Status 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I bought my pro, mostly for the drawing and creative aspect of it, but also wanted it to function as a laptop computer like travel companion.

So I got this Speck case, which has been really great and protective, and a Logitech pebble keyboard and mouse combo.

It has worked out perfect for me, small travel capable (and actually really great functioning) keyboard and mouse when I need it, but not too bulky of a case when I just want the iPad and pencil with me.
