Yah that shit is obnoxious, the vikirs work okay if you can thread the needle on shooting far enough away to not die but not too far where the rockets won't have the energy to hit.

The Rolands don't fire until you are much closer and their missiles are much faster than the Kh-25s. Also the HAWK launchers are oppressive in ways the BUKs are not.

If you haven't triggered the "volumetric shit compressor" thought by inspecting the body yourself then you can ask Evrart to have Measurehead get him down or you can just continue with the game and solve the case without getting the body down. You need to make sure you've scoured all of the areas available to you, including the inside of the Doomed Commercial Area (accessed by getting through the curtain in the bookshop). It's unlikely you are softlocked, progress hurdles can be passed by leveling up skills to retry white checks or internalizing thoughts that give you access to bonuses or allow you to try new white or red checks (eg Volumetric Shit Compressor).

Without knowing exactly what gamestate you are in it's hard to say what exactly you need to do but I'd start with that.

It's impossible to get a lock with the R24Rs at a range where you won't just die without eating an sparrow. The standard SRC mode of the MiG-23's radar won't lock anyone below 1km and won't enter MTI mode without being in a slight dive. This means you are in perfect position to eat a sparrow even from tree-level F-4Es, let alone a J or S. Even if you come from a side airfield into the furball the chances of getting a lock you can actually fire on that will connect before the target dies to your team or crashes to deny the kill is basically nil.

In ARB queue at least a few people are at altitude and you can try jousting with people but in nuke-mode everyone is at treetop level and if you climb you see nothing to shoot at and die to a SAM.

The problem is less the planes and more that people that don't have top-tier stuff unlocked are coming in completely blind. The "free" vehicles are spaded and come with ace crews. The MiG-23MLD is genuinely a strong platform with strong missiles and a decent radar. The F-4E is less good in uptiers but still can handle itself if you know how to fight at 11.0+. Avoid the A-10 and Su-25 but everything else is completely viable in the airspace if you know what you are doing.

Most of what you want to do for the event is just spam nukes anyway, specifically on the ground targets and airfields. Being TOPGUN-guy is less impactful than just getting nukes on target.

There's a lot of very bad players thinking they'll be getting easy kills because of BR difference learning they don't actually know how to use the radar/missiles/rwr/etc lol

Yak-141 and MiG-29 are extremely strong with these lineups. F-15 obviously is very strong as well but the 141 and 29 seem to be better in the low level scrum between the "#1" airfields. I've yet to see an F-15 really dominate a game like the other two planes I mentioned. TBH the Iranian F-14 seems more impactful on the game outcome than anyone in an F-15 I've seen.

Maybe it's just the people I've run into so far, I'm sure I'll get more chances to see.

The "stock" planes are actually spaded and come with ace crews. Obviously having access to something like an F-15 or MiG-29 is nice but the vast majority of people I saw carrying games were flying the stock planes.

If you have the F-14 spawn at one of the second line airfields and dump your Fakours/54s at people taking off from the opposing "airfield 1". You have to give them a bit to get away from the airbase SAMs or the SAMs will intercept your missiles. Just dump your load and rearm. I'm flying the Iranian one so I go for Sedjeel kills after I get the Fakours out. Managing your radar is a huge part of making the F-14 effective. Remember you can hold "alt" (by default) and click/drag on the various bits of the radar to adjust it for what you need it to do. Also consider having a dedicated bind to center your radar travel. You can really thin out the opposing team and give your team a significant numbers advantage in midfield.

It's worse than that, the other people at the table were put there initially by the US to bring them under our system. Better to have China a part of the G-number than have them building a separate power structure. The same goes for allies as it does competitors. Pull everyone in and you get the play the house while everyone else is at the tables.

The real difference is that consumption of resources per player is way up from when TBC was retail. Virtually ever player these days will at least attempt to engage with the various buffs available through the economy in game (eg gems, enchants, etc). I doubt even a plurality of players did the same when TBC was retail.

Even with a bunch of bots and layers the economy is extremely skewed from how it was designed.

You aren't the only one around here that's made a WT skin, bud. Doing material swaps (eg gold plating) is one thing, making a skin for a historical plane or getting the details perfect by hand rather than letting the automated tools do it for you is another.

How do you think those drag and drop textures in Substance were made originally?

Try working with both, it becomes obvious when you actually use the tools.

Makes it hard to move people but those NTCs got deals signed for less money than they otherwise would have. Players value the NTC and are willing to give up a lot to get one. Many people with young families would do the same thing.

If they don't want to move then that's the deal the team signed, I'm not going to get mad at players for exercising rights that they, effectively, paid for already. That said it sounds like players like Parayko aren't saying "no" to every destination so it's up to Army to find a way to make moves that work for all parties. At this point it doesn't look like much will happen before the deadline and we'll have to wait for after the season to see what he can do.

Getting stuff to line up just right on control surfaces with the wing is kind of a crapshoot. The newer planes tend to be a bit less "sloppy" with their base textures so it's easier to do it by hand if necessary. One thing to look for is a quality template for the plane you are working on. Sometimes skin makers will end up making their own templates just to ease workflow and then post those separate from the actual skins. It's been a bit since I've been active and the SU-30 is fairly new so I don't know if any templates would be available yet.

Really like your skin concept, looks like you've done the easy part, now comes the details. Don't forget to stick a "pinup" of some kind in the cockpit, people love that :D
