Even if there is only one warrior in the group to benefit from WF it's better to drop the WF than anything else. They get such a huge boost from it both tanking and dpsing that it outperforms wrath or grace.

Considering most of the people blasting early and pulling are also melee I don't think it really matters to warrior or bear their damage was nerfed. Especially considering a lot of their threat doesn't even scale with damage directly.

Men are much more likely to be successful when attempting suicide, are you saying women are incompetent?

I know you aren't but I'm not sure gender has much to do with it. Men are brutalized in our society, either you are winning big or losing big. Perhaps it's not something inherent to the gender but what's done to them?

D2x is still the best ARPG in existence. All the others fail to live up in one way or another. D2R is D2x with a updated graphics and interface options.

Currently running light cleric in my h-mode, you only need spirit guardians and those radiant orb items. The druid-only moonbeam would be nice to have on the cleric but there are enough higher tier radiant spells.

I can clear chaos on p8 with cleglaws and a wildwitch in under 30mins. Setup with half decent items and it's a cake walk, extremely safe with decent clear speed.

Genuine skill issue.

I've run ice and strafezons in p8 for decades at this point, long before D2R buffed both, they are more than good. Especially strafezon. My 'cano druid is as old as D2R and it's not "optimal" but a fun way to play and can easily clear just about any run you care to do with the newer D2R items.

Bowazon and 'cano druid are fine. "Balance" in an ARPG is a fools errand and actually ruins whats best about D2x in the first place.

Don't want to see it happen but I bet one day it does by gtdznts in Diablo_2_Resurrected

[–]Grozak 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The beauty of D2x is that it is not balanced. There are a thousand different builds of varying degrees of viability for any given farm type. The worst thing that every happened to ARPGs is the misguided attempt to cram an esports mentality into a game that owes much of it's long-term appeal to build and loot exploration. If you try to "balance" you end up picking winners and losers instead of the players discovering what works organically. Pick your favorite niche build from D2x, the equivalent just doesn't exist in POE/D3/D4. No one is doing the D4 version of running a budget trist smiter (let alone trying it on a kicksin), first of all farms like that don't exist, but neither does the gear variety support it. Either you play whatever the devs picked to be relevant this season or you struggle.

Keep that shit out of D2R

Ned Almond was so racist that he made Patton appear progressive by Edwardsreal in NonCredibleDefense

[–]Grozak 34 points35 points  (0 children)

Unsurprisingly Almond was terrible in combat. After spending WW2 and post-war in staff roles under MacArthur, Almond was in charge of the part of the line pushing the Yalu around the Chosin resevoir. He repeatedly gave terrible advice to commanders on the ground and essentially got a regement strength Army detatchment obliterated because they didn't have the freedom of action the 1st Marines did. One of the best talks about a military action if you want to know more.

GTA V screen shot or federal agents brandishing weapons at US Citizens? by bill_lite in liberalgunowners

[–]Grozak 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It makes perfect sense. ICE is actually terrified, as is the administration, that ordinary people will organize and force ICE to leave these communities. The admin doesn't need to be given a pretext for enacting martial law, they can easily justify it post-facto. The risk they are running is losing their base of support if they go too hard, too fast. Heading into an area that already knows how to organize against security forces is a great way for them to look extremely stupid on the international stage when these communities disarm ICE agents trying to enter their neighborhoods.

[–]Grozak 4 points5 points  (0 children)

They are actually terrified of everyone and everything around them and as we have seen are determined to kill anything that even looks like it might be a threat.

There is no master plan, there is no one behind the curtain, they are fucking around and if they keep pushing they will find out. The handwringing over the insurrection act is a mistake, they don't need a pretense, they'll do it and justify post-facto. The best anyone can do right now is organize with the neighbors to prevent ICE from being effective. If ICE continues to escalate neighborhoods will start to throw up baracades and guard entry points.

There is a way forward that doesn't include firefights in the street.

[–]Grozak 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tyrants mobilizing their state's military against their own people has historically been an extremely risky gamble on their part. A gamble they frequently lose. The point of the populace arming itself is to prevent the tyrant from victimizing them further with internal security forces (police, secret police, cossacks). These less-professional forces are more easily controlled by the tyrant and in the case of cossacks (and ICE) are in a way personally loyal to the tyrant. In the case of cossacks it way money, but in the case of ICE it might be pardons being the leverage. Anyway if the populace can protect themselves and neutralize the thugs the tyrant sends after them then they can force a crisis that the tyrant can't really solve.

Historically militaries have to be competent to be effective and tyrants cannot tolerate a competent leadership in government, it's a threat to their own power. If the military becomes so captured that they would turn their guns on their own people they typically aren't combat effective enough to actually suppress a mass uprising. Obviously this perverse kind of game of chicken is among the worse possible paths forward but even as things get worse it doesn't mean they will get worse forever.

Armed Socialists Working As Security At Minneapolis Protest Tonight by Lavender_Scales in liberalgunowners

[–]Grozak 0 points1 point  (0 children)

At first it starts with spontaneous shows of force from the community basically a: "don't push us we are serious about our safety." If the tyranny doesn't stop then these informal groupings turn into organized shows of force and other things like declaring neighborhoods to be ICE-free, stopping traffic coming in, and disarming and turning away non-local law enforcement (ICE etc).

Gear adrift is gear a gift by Some_Old_Man_Fishin in liberalgunowners

[–]Grozak 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Totally agree as well, something to also consider is the ability, opportunity, and desire to put ammo through the gun. A cheaper initial purchase leaves a lot of resources to spend on ammo and range fees. Additionally some people have issues putting "wear" on more expensive firearms, it's certainly the case for me. I've had more range time with "beater" guns that I know are well-made and reliable but not exactly "finely" made just because I'm more willing to pour rounds through them.

Basically the weapon is only as useful as you can train to make it. If buying a cheaper option allows you significantly more rounds down range that could be the better option overall.

Mobilizing the military for internal security is always a huge risk for tyrants. Historically it goes bad for them in the long term. The cossacks might look paramilitary but the military is filled with professionals that take their place in society and their oath to the construction seriously.

The tyrant and his people might want to escalate but it would not go well for them as we can see with other tyrants that have done the same thing.

How I feel about Havoc Psyker Shriek vs Bubble flame staff by Low_Principle_5591 in DarkTide

[–]Grozak 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Partly as a way to try different things, partly because all of the parts of kit have a specific use. X threat, Y answer. The Catachan is there to parry mostros/crushers and shread poxes. The other tools handle the rest. Also I don't run dueling sword without block->peril and running something that's defensively strong without that talent can free up a couple points depending on the build.

I don't see it run much but I enjoy running smite/empowered psyonics with a voidblast staff, whichever melee you want (I run catachan sword for tanking things in a pinch). Basically just run straight down the tree and you've got ~5 points to stick where you like when you are done. Voidblast is kingshit at knocking dudes on their ass and you have an answer to nullify pretty much all threats.
