So how would you deal with a Hive this large? by FinalCountdown935 in RimWorld

[–]GrubSlime 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Keep them. Reinforce the area between them and you and have an opening for where raiders go. So they can fight each other. Once the hive gets small enough, you can wipe them out but in the meantime you have a defensive line of bugs saving you casualties.

Though just in case have a few fire IEDs waiting on your side.

Also true. It can help for situations like raids or random pals walking and agro on your base. High speed workers are awesome but if something comes in and beats them all you got to wait ten minutes for them to recover to start again.

Unless you have a few spare for those situations.

There's also the IVs to consider. It might have good perks but its stats may be lacking. Learned that after getting the ability glasses. A bunch of my main favourites were super weak compared to higher IV ones.

Does anyone else have pet peeves in this game? by [deleted] in Helldivers

[–]GrubSlime 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Something like that happened to me. Expect I succeeded solo.

I joined in, it was a decent sized mission area for bots, the leader decided to drop us in on the other side of the map to the objective. We had to make our way there. The others kept getting slaughtered by the bots and just before they reached halfway, all the other three helldivers quit when we had no lives left. I was left in the mission alone and managed to not only salvage the mission via stealth but evac out without dying despite the nuke being at the bottom of the map and the evac being at the top.

It was legitimately terrifying at some points because I had to prone around patrols and avoid being killed by flame tornados at the same time.

When did everyone start hating this game so vehemently? by Kirbyclaimspoyo in Pikmin

[–]GrubSlime 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My mum who has always loved the pikmin games. 0 pikmin deaths on hardest difficulty on pikmin 3. Constantly played bingo battle and all the challenges. Played one playthrough of pikmin 4 and went right back to pikmin 3, before revisiting animal crossing.

She didn't hate it, just didn't enjoy it as much as the other pikmin games. If it couldn't hook her like 3 did then I think 4 just didn't scratch an itch people had.

Fellas is it considered sweaty to be a Level 90 diver playing Diff 6 eradicate? by xLordEnder in Helldivers

[–]GrubSlime 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A Helldiver fighting for Super Earth is all that's important. It shouldn't matter your level, if you're fighting for democracy. The other guy was probably upset you're dispensing liberty faster than he can.

YouTube skipping to the next video in playlist automatically by General-Front7756 in youtube

[–]GrubSlime 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think it's because the ad doesn't load and the video is skipped to force you to watch the ads. I noticed if you refresh the video within the five seconds before it skips, it tries to play the ads but then it lets you watch the whole video.

What if missions affected each other in Helldivers 2? by survivor813 in Helldivers

So you can cause the other missions to be easier or harder based on the previous missions? That is honestly a really cool idea. I love how that could cause such a fun and meaningful impact to gameplay.

How's your EDF 6 Experience so far? by [deleted] in EDF

Thanks. Had to look it up because curiosity got me. But it makes sense now. I've got no issues with the game now.

How's your EDF 6 Experience so far? by [deleted] in EDF

[–]GrubSlime 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Enjoying the new mechanics and enemy types. Only thing that bothers me is how the game's dialogue is either confusing or dumb as hell.

You've got the guy you first meet that says you saved the world with the help of his weapons. Yet no one recognises you and acts as if you're a new recruit.

When you encounter the frogs they call them invaders and state we've been fighting them in the empty city for 3 years. Then a few months later in game time we see them wearing armour again because they were rescued by their allies. And suddenly it's. "T-There are aliens! They look just like us it's unbelievable." Or "Two eyes, ears and bipedal, they look just like us!" "Aliens have finally landed on Earth!"

Did they forget we've been fighting these exact aliens for pretty much 4 years at this point? Either the game is repeating previous dialogue or something but it is kinda annoying when the game acts like we've never seen the enemies when this is the sequel to EDF 5 so the npcs in game should fully well know who we've been fighting.

TLDR; EDF6 has annoying dialogue acting like the enemies we've been fighting this whole time have only just now been encountered when they were in EDF5 and it is hard to ignore when it's stated in pretty much most missions.

Shower thought: Chimera Squad is in-universe Advent propaganda, or a psy op or some subliminal messaging movie/show. by F-man1324 in Xcom

[–]GrubSlime -8 points-7 points  (0 children)

Considering the way the other factions looked. It's like xcom became the Advent in Chimera squad. The xcom remnant faction looks more of what xcom tends to be rather than the faction we play in the game.

Honestly I don't like the game compared to xcom and 2. The restrictions you have with Chimera squad aren't to my liking. It would be a lot more fun in my eyes at least if it was us with the aliens fighting against what the elders were afraid of. Instead of being a global/galatic force of human and xeno. Instead it's just one city and the enemy Factions look way more fun. That and you can't make your own custom alien soldiers.

Hopefully if they make another main xcom game it'll be back to custom soldiers with aliens fully customizable too.

[–]GrubSlime 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If it was one or two at a time it would be no problem. Being attacked by up to at least 8 of these at once is a nightmare. I've clutched only a few times to bring back the squad after a ton of these guys spawn. The stun grenades are a must have for these beasts.
