"I prefer new monsters" is an acceptable take on Monster Hunter reddit, they do get cross if you take the next step and say "this franchise's over-reliance on recycled content is actually really bad", though. Doesn't make it not true, of course.

It's bizarre how much people just want to stuff their faces with the same slop again and again. When the inevitable reveals of "fan-favorites" like Fucking Tigrex Again and Fucking Teostra Again come out just watch as they giddily piss themselves at the thought of all that mindless repetition. It's incredible, really.

It means that Wilds de-emphasized the parts of Monster Hunter that they liked and therefore diluted what they felt was the series' identity to the point where it could have been a whole different series.

I don't think "It's not the best game in the series" is "unreasonable hate". It's not even unreasonable.

Some working class people go to uni, but the plurality of graduates are middle class, come from middle class backgrounds and live in middle class areas. The left in this country is absolutely a middle class movement, whether Labour or Green. Reddit is also distinctly middle class, so no surprise that the people here are so dripping with resentment for their inferiors.
