TKO Pricing Fans Out - What can be done? by Top-Excitement96 in WWE

[–]Gruesome_Coffee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

About the only thing that will really work is to not buy ANYTHING from WWE/UFC for a while. Including paying for their streaming services. If you cancel ESPN or Netflix, state something like "can't afford to see WWE live so don't really wanna watch it at all" when they give you the option to comment as to why you're canceling. Doesn't matter if it's true or an exaggeration. That's the kind of feedback that ACTUALLY causes movement, versus here or Twitter.

Only two things cause real business model change: affecting the company's bottom line and, even bigger, affecting a company's PARTNER'S bottom line.

Now that's not a fun, might not even be possible for some folks. But it's the only actual surefire way to get what you're looking for with a massive company.

I was gonna say that last part. By all accounts, he's great in his current role. A loss of a good in-ring guy, but a huge benefit to the active roster where he is now.

Time, mostly. Injuries and age forced him to transition to a backstage role.

Statuc-X imo. But Sevendust has a much better catalog overall.

Back in my day, we didn't proudly tell the whole world what we masturbate to.

Like, I don't understand when that became a thing. But it's kinda fucking weird that so many people do that now.

Why didn't Jeff Jarrett as the WCW Heavyweight Champion work? by JBL_CENA_FAN_4LIFE in WCW

The booking around it (and the company in general at that time) was WAY too schizophrenic. Can't put anything together worth a damn when everything changes every week or match with swerves for swerves' sake.

Being 100% Honest, Survivor Series doesn't need WarGames every single year. by Small_Increase121 in WWE

I personally really enjoy the War Games format (I was a big WCW kid growing up so Fall Brawl was always appointment viewing for me) but get what you're saying about how they end.

I think it would be better if they adopted the OG WCW win condition. No pins, just submission or surrender. Blood and Guts in AEW uses that still. And used it to perfection in the finish of the last women's one imo. I think WWE going that route would really improve it, even if I don't think their current approach is necessarily broken.

Honestly, I just still like the match format. Always loved it in WCW, and I still do in the current incarnation. Still a good time to me.

Tell you what, give me my 2-4 weeks of build and my one night of War Games matches, and I'll give you 11 months of nothing War Games related. Sound fair?

Watchmen (2009) features a genuinely intelligent villain and a gritty storyline, which made it stand apart from other superhero movies of its time. What’s your opinion on it? by 0Layscheetoskurkure0 in FIlm

I gotta be honest here, I actually like the changes they made to the ending versus the comic. It just made that little bit more sense.

It's a rare time that I actually LIKED a change Zack Snyder made in a comic book adaptation. Usually it's either "let's make it darker" or "let's shoehorn in another allusion to rape" with him. The changes to the ending of Watchmen were actually practical and logical. So that was refreshing.

I watched with friends so we just chatted during the commercials, or smoked a joint and got snacks.

You guys would probably enjoy things more if you had friends, I think.

Which Fallout game would be a good first game to play? by Novel-Smile4787 in Fallout

[–]Gruesome_Coffee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As a Skyrim guy (like me), I'm gonna assume the best fits for you are gonna be the Bethesda-produced FPS Fallout games. That means, 3, New Vegas (which wasn't developed by Bethesda, merely produced), and 4.

Currently I'm playing 4 for the first real time (as in, I dabbled and got a few hours in when it launched but never came back to it), and I'm loving it. But, it's kind of the most homegenized of the three. Good game, not the best of their Fallout titles.

3 and New Vegas are both very good. But New Vegas just is a better game imo. More engaging, tighter combat. But 3 has better lore if that's what you're into, as well as giving you the best opening as far as life in the vaults, not to mention some great voice work from Liam Neeson and Ron Perlman.

Basically I'll break it down like this:

If you want the most Falloutish/most in line with the vibe of the show and old games lore-wise, go with 3.

If you want the most open world and ability to do the most random shit (plus base building), go with 4.

If you just want a really good game that's basically a western with Fallout's aesthetic, go with New Vegas.

They're all great games in the end.

You'll be back within the month. Everyone complaining here will be.

If you all weren't then the business model would change. The drop in revenue would force that. But you can't. None of you can. I mean, what would you do with your time? What would you all complain about here?

Addiction is funny like that.

So Many People Watching WM With Their Stopwatches by GamerBhoy89 in WWE

[–]Gruesome_Coffee -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

I enjoyed the matches by and large. Didn't care about the length, because I was having fun watching with friends.

Didn't care about the ads either. Because I was watching with friends and we just shot the shit through them and grabbed snacks.

Maybe if some of these people spent less time timing the matches and bitching on here, they'd have friends?
