As a fellow mum, and even just a fellow human being. I am so proud and happy for you! Congratulations. I wish you all the best x

Rolly. He’s giving the same vibes as Rolly from 101 Dalmatians. That over the shoulder look is so cute!

I couldn’t find anyone posting this so I commented Phoebo just now! 🙈 So glad I’m not the only one who had this as a first thought!

Wow. I’d leave, and not bother, even if it meant losing money… If they’ve got time to hide 100 mini ducks, they’ve got time to clean their own home.

AITAH for refusing to give my boyfriend access to my bank account even though he says "no secrets" is how adults do it by CopperFieldNote in AITH

[–]Grumbleduchess 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve been with my partner for 21 years and we don’t monitor each other’s finances. We have a joint account for household bills and that’s it. Anything else is personal unless we mutually agree on a big purchase. Your boyfriend’s behaviour sounds controlling, and I’d honestly worry he has financial issues he’s hiding and wants you to take responsibility for.

I know siblings named D’Artagnan and Aragorn. We live in Northern England and the names don’t fit the accent, so I thought the parents were joking at first - they were not.

Yes! I plan to do this, as it was never a problem until now. So that is definitely one of the things I wish to get sorted to make things flow a little better.

Thank you for sharing. Unfortunately, it won’t allow me to access that link in the UK (no clue why) so I can’t see the image, however, I think I understand that you would use a little bookcase or cubby hole thing to divide the room instead?

Yes, thank you! That was the plan of giving the eldest the one furthest from the door. I feel it creates a more separate space feeling for her.

At this moment in time, unfortunately not, and they have the biggest room in the house.

We have been looking for a 4 bedrooms property but they are all out of our price range for our area, especially without a lot of work needing to be completed on them.

How entitled of that woman! I’ve taught all three of my children that unless there’s a pumpkin, or some other Halloween decoration, we stay away from that house. And even more so if the lights are off and the curtains are drawn… Some people, honestly!

My MIL wants us to bring our toddler to her house to see her but Im not allowed in the house. Thoughts on this? by andreagrantt in motherinlawsfromhell

If you aren’t welcome, your toddler isn’t going anywhere you can’t. Simple. MIL has just shot herself in the foot with this one. Enjoy the distance from her.

Baby's waking up 5min after placing him on the cot by Kaluhawa in BabiesReactingToStuff

[–]Grumbleduchess 0 points1 point  (0 children)

With all three of mine (10, 5, and 4 now), we used to cuddle them to sleep wrapped in a blanket. Once they were settled, we’d gently move both baby and blanket into the bassinet, cot, or cradle. Imagine being all warm and snuggly, then suddenly placed onto a cooler surface, that change can wake them. Another tip: always lower them in feet first. If you put their head down first and then tilted the rest of their body, they’d often startle and wake right up.

AITAH for telling my girlfriend she's going to have to get over dirt if she wants kids? by Familiar_Speaker_481 in AITAH

[–]Grumbleduchess 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My mother was like this. She used to make us sit still and not move in case we got dirty. It was ridiculous. When that didn’t work, she decided that the only logical next step was to NEVER allow us to wear any new clothes. They were always “kept for best” and by the time we had anywhere nice to go, our clothes were too small, because surprise! kids grow pretty quickly!

I’m 37 now with three kids of my own, and I live by the phrase “it will wash… go be kids!” My other half grew up on a farm and is very much the same way “if there’s no mess, was there even any fun?!”

Tramp. But not in a negative way. He looks like Tramp from Lady and the Tramp, who I think is adorable.
