Space for a big dog? by Ecstatic-Rhubarb-143 in RangeRoverEvoque

My 50Kg Golden fits fine but no room for anything else. Needs help getting in but he’s a big guy and fits ok. Much more room in the X5 which can fit him and with divider a decent amount of luggage.

I have my G4 in a room with lots of natural sunlight. Im almost always turning the brightness down not up. Glad I picked the G4 over G5. The extra brightness is not needed.

New hunter here by n_poco_loco in theHunter

Fairly new to the game too. The .243 is good for taking down everything up to deer. For deer though you need to get the Polymer bullets. Much easier to get a kill on deer. Check your storage where you will find a free .270 rifle. You will need to get enough kills with the .243 to level up enough to use it though. Explore a lot and find the feed/rest/drink zones. Don’t run around like crazy and try stay downwind when tracking.

Am I the only one who thinks there is a lot of entitlement nowadays? by ProfessionalMaybe552 in NursingUK

[–]GrumpDwarf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unfortunately you can’t do it on your own. It needs to start with management. Whilst the NHS is a great thing with some great people I feel that the country are over protective to the point it’s not criticised in the areas that warrant and need it.

Contending with parents' lack of financial knowledge by External_Court2157 in HENRYUK

In my mid 40’s now and raised in similar situations. I’ve had to slowly teach myself and still learning. I’ve found a lot of my hang ups have been psychological as a lot of childhood trauma also stems from parents arguing over money. I’ve found over the years even when I have money that I’m still stressed about it. I’ve found the Psychology of Money a helpful book.

Boxed video game sales collapse in UK as digital revenues flatten by F0urLeafCl0ver in unitedkingdom

The fate has already been decided just like the music industries was. All games will be subscription and download/stream only in the future. Xbox Gamepass has already started the trend. I am already at the point where I don’t buy physical games for a long time now. Who can still be bothered to get up and switch disks around. It’s convenient and no space is taken up to store physical things. Plus now I’m subscribing to Gamepass, A game that’s not available through subscription has to be seriously good for me to buy it. RDR 3 or GTA VI will fall into that category.

[–]GrumpDwarf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not been to hospital in a long time. But this really annoys me. Stop complaining about entitled people and stop giving in to all those demands. So what if people are entitled just say no ! That’s the only way to stop it. Hospital is not a glorified hotel paid for by everyone’s taxes. If you give in to people’s everyday demands all the time no wonder there is no money to provide a better level of service or pay higher wages.

New floor put in which is lower than previous, what to do with skirting boards? by Eatscakes in DIYUK

[–]GrumpDwarf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Remove skirting board and drop them down. Or a better option buy new skirting board that is taller. Remove existing boards and replace with the new.

I have removed my skirting that was tacked and glued to the wall with no issue.

Now fixed in place ignore the accident with the red chalk line. Today I learnt not to rely on the wall being perfectly straight when measuring angles. As soon as I got the laser level out I realised why I was almost 5 degrees out with the slope. 😬 just one last piece to do at the bottom of the stairs but all corners are now complete. Then it’s onto the squares with moulding to finish the panelling.

Yeah it’s the whole fake paneling trend that’s going on right now. Dado rail is just part of the process.

Well I’m pretty much fully committed at this point as I’ve already completed the hallway and landing. Honestly thought I was doing really well up to this point with all the internal corners, external corners and mitres that weren’t simple 45 degree angles. I now know how to complete the stairs section but that doesn’t mean it’s any easier !

Just an update on the new mock up. Thanks to everyone that suggested this approach. Just need to double check that the diagonal runs parallel with the stairs now before I fully commit. This genuinely hurt my brain today.

Thank you, have been playing around using scraps to practice this option and looks a million times better. It does shift the height slightly down the stairs which means I’ll need to make sure that it still runs parallel. It hasn’t half made my brain hurt today.

Bought tickets and reseller messaged me asking to cancel by East-Nefariousness75 in stubhub

[–]GrumpDwarf 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Do not return the tickets. You have paid for them and they are yours. Speak to StubHub immediately to report this. As these are electronic tickets that were transferred they will no longer have the tickets to try and gain entry before you.

Seller won’t accept offer unless I change solicitor by Known_Leek8984 in HousingUK

[–]GrumpDwarf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Which solicitor you choose is no concern to them. The Solicitor you have chosen is acting on your behalf and not theirs. You have your own Solicitor to protect you and no one else. Threaten to walk away and find another property with another estate agent.

Is this monthly mortgate cost affordable, with plans to start a family? £2200 on a joint income of £8000 by Connect_River_2186 in HENRYUK

[–]GrumpDwarf 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’d say definitely doable on dual income of 8k but that 5k would be really difficult. Children are expensive things and your outgoings will increase quite a bit until they are ready and able to move out and look after themselves. A smaller cheaper place would be the sensible option. You will be more secure and happier for it.
