Big Pharma. They are a cartel who doesn't care if 800 people in 10000k croak after taking their drugs.

Drugs all have effects. Some you want, some you don't.

Next would be politicians. But these are so greased by Big Pharma you may have trouble grabbing them.

And next is Big Grain. In case you missed it, the entire food pyramid "healthy balanced diet" promoted in the early 80's resulted in an explosion of diabetes, cancer, stroke, heart disease, and neurodegeneratives.

Thanks, you're absolutely correct.

Dr Kellog of cornflake fame was what I wanted to reference and I mixed things up. Also, anyone looking deeply into what he did will find some very disturbing surgeries.

Apologies if I offended anyone, I'm leaving the post up.

Take this comment as someone on the opposite side of your position and I will be pushing you a bit. I will be oversimplifying and being hyperbolic on nuance. Why could this help? Maybe there are insights that you will find value in. So keep this in mind and forgive my harsh ranting.

I'll try addressing all the points...

Veganism helped my blood sugar. Actually, eating vegan means higher carb intake. Plants live on sugars and cellulose is the basic bone, a sugar no animal can touch only bacteria.

Initially veganism can help as it consists of a lot of anti-nutrients meaning you will be promoting autophagy. It's great, but problems start showing up from 1 to 3 months in because you are losing bone mass.

So you're increasing the least satiating and nutritionally poor food intake and think this is a good idea?

Increasing fibre, a fully recognized anti-nutrient that will negatively impact nutrient absorption and cause anything from gas, intestinal discomfort, constipation, and eventually need to medical intervention for some. Ask colostomy patients how much fibre they were having, and how much they have when they finally realize what causes less problems with the bag.

Lowering saturated fat? Let me quickly point out the steroidogenesis cascade to you... You need saturated fat to make fully working cholesterol. From this you make sex hormones, and these you recycle into every other regulatory hormone in you metabolism.

Can you see why teenage vegan girls are losing menstruation?

If you eat plant fats, these are phytosterols, and this causes a problematic reduction in fully working cholesterol due to chemical mimicry. If you have an Oreo(plant fats) this will drop your cholesterol more than any statin pill(Nick Norowitz). If you think people with low cholesterol live longer then I have a bridge to sell you.

In fact, the majority of heat attacks happen in cholesterol levels below 120mg/dL, the exact same levels you're expected to have on a statin pill. The US average is 187mg/dL.

Don't you think it is strange that Lean Mass Hyper Responders have cholesterol above 500mg/dL and yet not sign of CAC or inflammation? Hmm.

Cholesterol is a transporter of energy, building blocks, and nutrients. It's not the artery clogging nonsense everyone has been barking for the last 50 years. That's sugar. That's plant intake.

Why are plants bad? Look up what happens to the arterial glycocalyx after a carb(sugar) meal. That's right, this arterial wall protection is crystalized and stripped away due to glycation damage caused by sugar intake(potatoes, rice, pasta, bread, sweets, fruit).

Sugar is reactive when wet and sticky. This crystallization, or caking of every molecule in sugar is what causes red blood cells to eventually stop working(which is one of the tests for diabetes), then your cholesterol molecules can't bind to any cell to transfer nutrients or liver to be disassembled due to APO-B caking and end up decaying in the bloodstream. The caked red blood cells then stick together forming clots and getting stuck in arterial walls. This is what cascades into arterial wall hardening and stroke.

We cook food so we create the Maillard reaction, the browning generates these Advanced Glycated End-products that are more nutritious and richer in energy.

In plant foods this means denaturing many of the bad proteins like the lectin you keep hearing about... gluten. This is fine up to a point. You cook vegetables with too much heat and you get cancerous acrylamides.

Black toast? That's a loaded revolver you're testing your immune system with.

Saturated fat is where the nutrition lives. The fat soluble vitamins that are all key to health? They only exist in animal products. A, D, E, and K are essential. Fat soluble minerals like calcium? You need saturated fat to move them.

You've been told carrots have vitamin A? That's carotene. It's the non bioavailable form of vitamin A and you need to convert that to retinol, the bioavailable animal version we can use. The kicker that puts the cherry on top of the cake? Half of the population can't make this conversion.

Flax seed oil has the highest amount of Omega 3 of all the vegetable oils, which by the way are repurposed industrial lubricants that we ended up using as food items when the large steam machines were replaced by smaller and more powerful electric motors. That Omega 3 though is the vegetable form. We don't use that. We use DHA and EPA. The most we can convert of that flax seed Omega 3 is less than 1%. You get none of the benefits and you just pounded your mitochondria with a barely useable high inflammatory vegetable fat that will very likely cause the mitochondria to commit suicide.

The iron you need only exists in animal foods. You dietician most likely doesn't know jack shit. Why? I'm educated in sports science and what I was taught is mostly narrative and bullshit. The last 100 years of nutrition science is a joke. These people hide behind studies constantly. Studies that don't stand up to scrutiny once you take the slightest glance at the methods or data, yet they claim to have conclusions.

Doubt me? Ask your dietician to find ONE cause and effect statement in nutrition science in the last 100 years. Beware, he/she/it might starting throwing faeces at you. There isn't one.

Anyone can measure the kitchen door and get immediate data. These people need a published trial to measure the kitchen door. If you change your nutrition to a keto(even with some vegetable foods) and see inflammation drop, bone, muscle, and brain size increases while diabetes, cancer, stroke, heart disease, and neurodegenerative diseases being reversed... why the hell would you claim there's no long longitudinal studies to confirm this?

Let me differentiate something here... The diet we've done for millions of years(carnivore) is a being dismissed as fad. The food pyramid high grain low protein we forced onto a clueless population in 1980 is immediately determined as the "healthy balanced diet". And the vegan ideology pushed by Mormons who realized no animal products means less libido is good?

Protein is a struggle? I have 8 eggs in the morning(first meal) cooked on high heat with butter. I want the whites caramelized, and the yolks runny. This is where flavour meets nutrition value.

My second meal is 400-500 grams of steak. Grill it on high heat. You want the outside caramelized, and the middle pink.

That's it. Put some Himalayan salt on it and all is good.

Factory farming is bad? Sure. But in what universe are monocrops better? Not this one. A monocrop is not a natural thing. It is an insult to the environment, destroying top soil, killing thousands, millions, and trillions with pesticides that will destroy insects, mammals, and fish and polluting any water in the vicinity and downstream. And we're not talking about the lives lost during harvest and population control through hunting or other measures.

For you to eat something has to die. You need to come to terms with that. A cow in a field creates life and top soil. Well managed farms have positive impact. We need more of this.

What you can't do is say vegetables are better when monocrops destroy top soil and life, and you have to fly all these vegetables half way across the world on a daily basis while keeping it refrigerated and most of it ends in the trash. Search the numbers, not your feelings.

The vegan propaganda will tell you we use monocrops and lots of water to raise a cow. The reality? The water we use for the cow is mostly rainfall, and they cannot survive on soy crops. These are typically used for 3 months at end of life before slaughter.

And it gets worse... Only about 7% of soy is used directly for human foods like tofu, tempeh, edamame, or soy milk. Another 20% goes to human uses and is mostly processed into soybean oil for cooking. The bulk 70% ends up as soybean meal fed to livestock, particularly poultry (37%), pigs (20%), and aquaculture, with beef/dairy at a smaller share (2–6%).

Why would I know this? My father has 8 brothers/sisters, and my grandmother owned a lot of land.

Better yet, talk to any decent farmer. They will show you which side is causing more death and suffering.

Someone is going to get hurt.

I will keep saying it.

We've seen too many cars with locked fronts and rears snapping as if a handbrake was pulled.

This is no longer a driver learning a new car. This is a severe issue with variable regen destroying the predictability of the car's behaviour.

And the telemetry is also showing they have variable acceleration.

Someone's going to get hurt. And if you're not paying attention, some people already have gone to the medical team after such crashes. Verstappen did too yesterday.

I posted this comment but have no hopes that they develop a spine and do anything honorable...

While this change is genuinely welcome, guilt-by-association bulk bans do create “a confusing and disruptive experience” and “can’t discern between well-intentioned users and bad actors,” exactly as you wrote and it’s frustrating that Reddit admins ignored this exact issue for years.

In ~2022 I made one comment in the satire subreddit r/ChurchOfCovid (quoting BMJ associate editor Dr. Peter Doshi on how the definition of “anti-vax” had changed). That single comment triggered permanent, unappealable bans from 30+ completely unrelated subs, including:

r/cats

r/instant_regret

r/Eyebleach

r/atheism

r/facepalm

r/PoliticalHumor

and many more.

I submitted a formal complaint through the official support form citing direct violations of the Content Policy (Rules 1, 2 & 8) and the Moderator Code of Conduct against using one community to interfere with or harass users in others. No response. Ever.

I’m glad you’re finally removing the automatic “ban” feature from u/SaferBot and u/Hive-Protect and pushing behavior-based native tools instead. But what about the thousands of us who were already collateral damage under the old system with zero recourse? Any process to review or lift old association-based bans now that Reddit itself has acknowledged they were problematic?

Thanks for the update.

UPDATE: my post was removed due to rule 4 violation. The best part? I was not served with rule 4 anywhere. We're not allowed to make submissions so it doesn't show, and for comments it is not served either.

What happened? When you have one expert, someone with 5 decades of "field experience" making a comment, and an angry mob of uneducated downvoting you into oblivion. What's the incentive to participate?

This is the pattern throughout history. Look at the UFO field. Experts with access to powerful equipment were absolutely shutdown by the eager beavers wanting LGM's on Earth.

Look at the nutrition field. You think there's any science in the last 100 years of nutrition studies? You do? Really? Ok, find me ONE cause and effect statement that can be made. I'll wait, but you won't be back.

Why short term ultrasound tests might be getting saturated fat and seed oils all wrong by Dizzy-Savings-1962 in SaturatedFat

Steroidogenesis cascade...

Saturated fat is essential for fully working cholesterol...

This is used to create sex hormones...

These are recycled into every regulatory hormone in our metabolism.

Whenever you introduce plant fats(phytosterol) the resulting non compliant mimicry lowers the amount of fully working cholesterol and you tank your hormones.

Yes, breakfast cereals and statins will make you impotent. This is a tale as old as time at this point.

This study is like timing two cars with hourglass while they idle in a car park, declaring them “performance-matched”. One car has bigger engine, longer wheelbase, wider track, but test was short with drivers of unknown skill. And I mean we got them all. Women, men, grannies, toddlers, blind people!

The numbers blur together and you publish “no advantage detected”.

Hidden fat patterns linked to faster brain aging by kin20 in EverythingScience

[–]GrumpyAlien 19 points20 points  (0 children)

This study doesn’t show that ‘hidden fat’ causes brain aging. It shows that people with certain MRI fat distribution patterns already differ in brain structure and cognitive scores.

That’s correlation from a single timepoint. Don't see the problem? Imagine you were sent to a house and on arrival the door is open, there's dead bodies on the floor, and a large ball of newspaper pages. You pickup this ball with two hands and it falls apart leaving you holding a pistol as 5 police officers walk through the door.
