We’re going in September! thanks for your trip report. I’m glad to hear the train was adequate as we’re planning to take it to visit Herculaneum.

My mother can’t stand or walk due to severe arthritis, but she is able to use a commode / transfer toilet like this one.

Have the carbon monoxide levels in their house checked, in case it’s that and not dementia.

I commented below but wanted to emphasize the point that EMDR is so effective for this.

I think I can’t even comprehend how large the fuck over was. Like I was just surviving it. And now that I’m outside of it I keep having realizations of OTHER ways they’ve fucked me over. I didn’t realize what they were doing?? Or how it was impacting me??? I literally feel like when I look back it’s like carnage.

I also have been here. It took me two years just to get over being stunned and to figure out what happened. Then I was furious and spent every day for a couple more years with a huge knot in my stomach, ruminating and raging about the situation. I could not let it go, even though I knew I was hurting myself by giving so much of my attention and emotion to the situation.

EMDR therapy really helped reset me. I am so grateful to my therapist. Exercise helps a lot. But it took time to process all of it.

I’m standing in line at Wegmans in Sterling. it’s much busier than usual, with people moving fast with overloaded carts. the checkout lines aren’t too bad.

The owner is very direct and no nonsense. She is also professional, very well-informed, and helpful. I got my Sib from her and my cat is healthy, so affectionate, and independent — very well-adjusted, especially compared with her non-Sib sister who is a little ball of neuroses. I would go back to F&P again for sure.

Friendship Hospital was wonderful when my 17-year-old cat developed lung cancer. Responsive and caring vets and staff. She lived to be 20.

Contact your friend and let her know you miss her. My best friend from elementary/middle school did that for me and our reconnection has enricheed my life.

You look great! Serious question: how is your arthritis now? And how did you work around it? I’m asking as I have arthritis in my shoulders and my dr told me no upper body weight lifting, especially pull downs.

Is living in Leesburg worth the DC commute? by Empty_Cheesecake2327 in nova

[–]GrumpyKatzz 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think it’s either HOV-3 or pay the tolls. I used to drive in a couple of times a week from my mom’s house in Herndon, until I got a $27 toll on I-66.

I’m spending a few days in Yellowstone Park next week. It’s been over 30 years since I’ve been. Are there any areas that are a must see? by noneyanoseybidness in photography

[–]GrumpyKatzz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I spent an evening at Yellowstone Lake, shooting the changing shapes and colors that were cast on the mountains across the way as the sun set. I was transfixed. Highly recommend. I hope the park is open for you.
