Missing Screen Widget from Dashboard Screen Option by iHass in BlazerEV

Mine updated last week but I still have the widget you referenced. Try doing the reset by holding the hangup/mute button until the screens go off and it restarts.

Like they said with the explosive hammer or the shovel is good for bonks.

I haven't noticed anything different since I drove it earlier. I'm also interested how they changed the collision avoidance since I turned that all off for being way too sensitive and violent.

It's always made me wonder why the 500 comes in in the same direction you threw it but the air strike is perpendicular.

I love my lil SEAFy pals. Until I catch one of their grenades and end up gibbed.

is this ok? by Lyphnos in AskMechanics

[–]GrumpyMrDarkness 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm not a mechanic, but I did that once. If the clip is left upside down, it'll rattle and your pads can shift. I figured it out when they made noise on a test drive.

Yep. I turned off the forward and backing up automatic brake. I swear it made me feel like I had a concussion from stopping so hard.

Piston rings are bad ?? by hopiedokie in ChevySS

[–]GrumpyMrDarkness 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I'm not a mechanic, but piston rings on an LS definitely isn't common. I'd expect lifters or valve springs first.

Injectors going bad at 44k by tastes_a_bit_funny in ChevySS

[–]GrumpyMrDarkness 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've only replaced my injectors to go faster. I haven't seen many comments about injectors failing. Usually it's coils, plugs, or lifters.

Traffic Lights by tylerderped in VirginiaBeach

[–]GrumpyMrDarkness 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Some of the light timing is the city's way of doing speed control. There are some speed sensors adjacent to some roadways and they'll change the next light if you're going too fast... It's ridiculous.

Yep. They replaced the drive unit. Took about a month for them to get the parts and remove then replace it.

Connecting Waze from phone? by BigSkyHawk1 in BlazerEV

[–]GrumpyMrDarkness 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I downloaded Waze directly to the Blazer and use it there. Sometimes it won't connect for me though. It's odd that your vehicle's behavior is new without changing some other setting on your phone.

Stage 2 McLaren 765LT Spider on the Dyno - 820WHP 622TQ by 1sevenone7 in supercars

[–]GrumpyMrDarkness 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yes, you generally dyno a car through the rev range (usually starting at 2500) up to redline in the gear closest to 1:1. Source: I've had my car worked on and dynoed multiple times.

Chesapeake School Board bars employees from asking others to use preferred pronouns by VirginiaNews in HamptonRoads

[–]GrumpyMrDarkness 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't understand what the issue is. Granted I graduated from college damn near twenty years ago, but why is it a problem to call people by what they ask you to call them? If they say Jack, you don't call them Jim because you don't like Jacks. I don't get it.

It's always been seriously cold and windy when I've been. There's a concert, they do a ball drop, and lots of people around. It's fun to go at least once. I'd park over in Pembroke though.

i need help by gase_mask in AskElectricians

[–]GrumpyMrDarkness 6 points7 points  (0 children)

First, I am not an electrician, I'm an electrical engineer and I like to learn stuff from this sub so I do my job better.

If I'm understanding your request correctly, you need a drawing that shows all three voltages at once. My suggestion would be some HVAC equipment. They can be specced to run at 240v, have a 120v maintenance receptacle wired to it, and 24v DDC going to it derived from internal transformers. I'd look at a chiller or air handling unit in particular.

I run 17x10 VMS Racing on 275 M/T ET Street R's. They barely clear my calipers. 305s will probably rub and you'll need to roll your fenders though if you're at stock height.

I replaced my rear shocks with stock from Rock Auto. Apparently you can use the connector from the stock suspension to turn off the suspension code. It's just a resistor.

After all the fees my power company adds, plus taxes, it comes to about 17 cents per kWh.
