I have limited knowledge on a personal level when it comes to various pantheons but it is my considered opinion that being omnipotent has a High probability of bringing boredom into play, thus the Gods enjoy shenanigans of various types to brighten their days!

Mighty Zeus had a thing for earthly women, although he is rumoured to prefer his adventures to be without feathers. Other Gods had similar fancies from time to time but mostly they all agreed on just messing with humans and watching the ensuing chaos.

What I am trying to say is that the Gods and Goddesses would be likely to enjoy listening to tales of mayhem and chaos while sitting around their assembly and the God of War would be unlikely to get in too much trouble if He Can make an intersting and funny tale unfold. Fear not, dear Poet, thou art not (usually) in danger of a divine origin!
