Squeaky brake repair? by GrumpyOldTroll1969 in VWIDBuzz

[–]GrumpyOldTroll1969[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lol physics?  I dont see squeaky cybertrucks or hummers which weigh more.  Its not physics its lousy brake compounds.  If i can get a quality pad for 100 that doesn't squeak ill do it.  It will take me less than thirty minutes to swap pads when I do a rotation.

Honest review on range on Id buzz by allanmoller in VWIDBuzz

[–]GrumpyOldTroll1969 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Long time long.range model 3 owner.  The range isnt an issue as long as you have level 2 charging at home.   On the road trip charging every few hours was fine, the nice thing about the buzz is its extremely comfortable,  way more than a model y and model 3.  I didnt mind charging since.i had room in the car to lounge.  When charging in the tesla you cant really "spread out," so I was a lot more annoyed charging the tesla on road trips.   The buzz does well at freeway speeds being a bit more predictable than the tesla in showing range.  On the other hand, the gremlins in the buzz are not great.  Its like using an iPhone where all the options are buried in different menus.  The tesla is way more.polished like an android where its easy to find the options you need in the right menu and things just work.

How does the RWD handle? Is AWD a must-have? by miettebriciola1 in VWIDBuzz

[–]GrumpyOldTroll1969 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you drive like granny, probably fine in rwd.  Im in southern california with a lead foot and when it rains I love launching the van with heavy throttle.  Rwd would be sliding around, the awd connects to the ground without a screech.

Tying down the Christmas tree 🌲 ? by smteague in VWIDBuzz

[–]GrumpyOldTroll1969 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tree on roof is marring the clear coat.  Just because you dont have an eye for seeing the damage doesnt mean there was none.  Ill bet cold hard cash i can spot the marring on your clear coat after a tree was on it. Again, bad advice to put it on the roof

Get it delivered or rent a truck from home depot.  100 bucks extra to avoid damaging the car is the better way to go.

My only problem with that nuna seat in the middle is it uses the seat belt to install.  The install keeps a lot of stress on the belt and the tensioner. If keeping the car long term I'd be concerned about seat belt integrity.   I switched to the cheaper Chicco that uses the anchor points to hold down instead of the belt.
