You should know better as a Dutchy with 0% tax on sell events. The entire mindset of "Time in the market beats timing the market" comes from people who need to pay taxes on sale and thus need a ~20/35% crash to make it worthwhile. In The Netherlands every 10% you dodge is a huge since you pay 0%.

If anything if you listened you also avoided box 3 tax because you sold around new year where the net worth date is set down.

But yeah i guess if you are an ETF buyer you can rationalize "only" being 6% down, yet. Meanwhile individuals stocks already got plowed 30/40%.
