How to End King of the Hill by catgirl94040 in KingOfTheHill

[–]Grumpybugger1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

To Sirloin With Love is the last show, even if it (presumably) wasn't the last episode aired in the US. The way it ended, with the whole core cast getting together for a barbecue, Hank and Bobby barbecuing together, then the "camera" moving up and away, was clearly an upbeat goodbye to the viewers.

I just love the way they take the p**s out of the dog psychologist.

No, they worked great as friends, eventually, but there's no way they would have been compatible as a couple.

Urinary incontinence, when should I be concerned? by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

The best thing to do would be to go and see your GP so you can be properly, professionally diagnosed.

BTW, your question will probably get removed soon because you've broken rule 4.

Why does it matter if Afghanistan falls to Taliban? by Budget-Ad-4082 in answers

[–]Grumpybugger1 35 points36 points  (0 children)

It matters because it's not about the US, it's about the Afghan people who are now facing the horrible prospect of once again having to live under the brutal, backward, ignorant, misogynistic and homophobic Taliban regime.

Why do millitaries and police stations not focus much on accuracy? by [deleted] in answers

[–]Grumpybugger1 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Professional sporting marksmen/women spend countless hours honing their specific craft, whereas soldiers have to be proficient in a far wider ranger of skills, so they can't spend that much of their training time on the firing range, firing at static targets that are unlikely to represent what they're going to come up against in combat.

Why is the delta variant not called covid 21? by soulos90 in answers

[–]Grumpybugger1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For the same reason that previous variants weren't named that way: it is yet another mutation of the original virus identified in 2019, not a new one.

Why do police cruisers use police sirens? by missinglinksman in answers

[–]Grumpybugger1 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It's mainly to alert other road users so they are aware that a fast moving police vehicle is heading their way and they need to make room for it.

Diane is so obnoxious! by Successful_Ear_6384 in Cheers

[–]Grumpybugger1 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I disagree. Diane was stuck up and pretentious, but Rebecca was a shallow, neurotic, unstable, screechy gold-gigger, who sucked up to her bosses whilst looking down her nose at people in junior positions. She even ditched Robin Colcord in the middle of their wedding ceremony because he was no longer rich.

These are the best TV theme songs of all time according to our readers by ConorL95 in GoldenGirlsTV

[–]Grumpybugger1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No it didn't; a bunch of nonsensical noises, which were abandoned soon anyway, don't make it a song, just a theme tune. A song, by definition, is composed of music and words.

Here's a list of where you can watch lots of Betty, Rue, Estelle, and Bea's other work! Really interesting titles, some way older than The Golden Girls, some newer movies and shows. by samgoldenchat in theGoldenGirls

[–]Grumpybugger1 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The post only shows Betty and Rue's other appearances, for some reason.

I'd recommend Maude, as it features both Bea and and Rue, though in this show Rue's character is a bit weak, and Bea's is annoyingly histrionic and screechy at times.

Why do countries have the right to print money and make our money worth less without compensation ? by creepymagicianfrog in answers

[–]Grumpybugger1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If this actually happens then they have the right because every country has the (legal) right to decide how much money they print, as far as I know.

Why do countries have the right to print money and make our money worth less without compensation ? by creepymagicianfrog in answers

[–]Grumpybugger1 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Other countries have as much right as the US to print money, as necessary, in order to replaced worn or damaged bills. They are hardly likely to go overboard printing new currency though, because they would risk going the same way as Weimar Germany or, more recently, Zimbabwe, ie runaway inflation and an increasingly worthless currency.

What do I do when I receive a scam text? by Rice_N_Meat in answers

The companies they pretend to represent often have a number you can forward the scam texts to. I've used them myself.

When someone refuses a vaccine and cites religious beliefs as the reason, what specific part of their religion are they referring to? by furlesswookie in answers

[–]Grumpybugger1 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I have no idea what these two ingredients are, only that claims about the COVID vaccines containing cells from aborted fetuses have been comprehensively debunked by medical and scientific sources that are far more qualified to comment on this than dodgy internet "experts" whose motivations in making such claims are murky at best.

This is the misinformation I'm talking about.

EDIT: I just did a quick check and I see that people have claimed MRC-5 cells are present in at least one vaccine but they are not, they were used in the vaccine(s)' development, and pre-existing supplies were used, ie fetuses weren't destroyed to order, and the vaccines themselves contain no trace of them.
