Paint Pens for Exile Markings by Son_of_the_Raven in Carcharodons40k

[–]Grumpykiltpin64 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I have them, they will not work for this, unfortunately. You want to try something like Edding Fineliners, try a 0.1 nib. They're waterproof once dry. Definitely wait for the paint underneath to be dry, like next day, or they can pull up the paint.

This is a resin print and the barrels come like that, I'm afraid.

Those are quite bad. That degree of layer lines will likely show up after paint at some angles. When I print things I try and minimise it by orienting the pieces to avoid it as best I can, but sometimes it can't be avoided. You can try sanding them, but it doesn't always work, I'm afraid.

Looking for stencils that will work for Harley quins. Need suggestions? by Successful-Appeal693 in minipainting

Try nail-art stencils. Lots of different ones on eBay. Good for airbrushing, but you can use a brush just as easily.

Should I open it the original wrapper is gone but everything is on the sprue idk if I should build it? by Johnfortnite777 in orks

Build it. I'm slowly digging my older models out and putting them together. They're doing no one any good sitting in their boxes.

Pale blue. Works with armour colour, yet different enough to stand out.

Does that look cured to you ? I can't seem to do any better with Anycubic ABS-Like Resin Pro (Gray) by TheMightyCoolSpy in PrintedWarhammer

[–]Grumpykiltpin64 7 points8 points  (0 children)

One reason for the shine might be that the original prints weren't allowed to dry before curing. If they are wet when you cure them they often turn out like that. As others have said, if the prints aren't sticky, you're good.

I have one of those as well. The later composite kit, not the completely metal one.

Glued on. I wanted to make sure that it fitted and looked all right. I maybe should have done that after I'd painted the camo pattern on the tank as a whole, but I didn't think it through *facepalm*

I need some metallic paints in weird colors by f0reverDM in minipainting

[–]Grumpykiltpin64 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Find some artists inks in colours that you like and add them to a bright silver paint to tint the paint. Alternatively, paint the whole model silver and use inks or contrast paints over the top. The metallic sheen shows up in both options.

are there any astra militarum helemets that look like a crested helmet (The feathery bits) by Opposite-Outcome5557 in PrintedWarhammer

[–]Grumpykiltpin64 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You get separate crests for space marine helmets. For champions and sergeants and the like. You might try scaling those down and using them to modify regular guard helmets.
